About that white med ball stand...

Hey, you guys know that handy-dandy little white stand that Cathe & crew use to hold their med balls (see Boot Camp, for instance)? Does anybody know where to buy one? I actually have one for my 8-lb med ball but for the life of me I don't know where I bought it. The ball came from Power Systems so maybe the stand did too, but it's not on their website anymore. It must have been discontinued.

The reason I'd like to have another couple of stands is that during Power Systems' big sale in December I bought a 2-lb and a 4-lb med ball. (They were cheap cheap cheap, and they're handy for days when I'm feeling not quite up to the 8-pounder, or just want to use the 2-pounder for, say, a rare Karen Voight tape). Right now they're just rolling around on the floor of my workout room. Everything else in the room has a rack, or a stand, or at least a neat and secure place along the wall (even my stability ball is propped up on a riser -- borrowed that trick from Cathe). So I would dearly love to find two more of those med ball stands, or something similar.

Anybody have a source, or ideas?

I can call Jean at Fitness Wholesale for you tomorrow and ask. I know I have seen them there and am fairly certain it is the same rack Cathe uses. Let me know.

Hi Deb! That appears to be it but in the larger stability ball size. Thank you so much -- I don't know how I missed that on the FW website, which I did (really) search.

I have a stop-gap solution if I can't find the stand -- I used to have one of those smaller steps (like Cathe uses in the beginner tape) and I remembered this afternoon that I kept some of the risers. I found them in my attic. They're smaller versions of the old pink & purple step risers, and I have the two smaller med balls sitting on them right now. The balls still roll around on the little slot in the riser, but then they stay put, right on top. So that'll do. Of course, I'd rather have the MATCHING white stands... ;-)

I always thought that "white thing" was just a sliced piece of white PVC piping from the home improvement stores. It looks just like it.


You can also use a large plant pot saucer to hold the ball in place. They come in a variety of colors.:)

I'm with Atiman. It looks like a slice of regular 'ol PVC to me! I bet you could go to any Home Depot and ask an associate for an odd piece for a nickle!

It definitely IS PVC piping. (At least that is what I was told at FW.) I think you could get it very cheap at Home Depot. Good Luck Kath and also, the planter saucer is a great idea too.

RE: Plain old PVC pipe???

Kathy, you could also use plant rings. Those are those metal rings that you attached to a post to hang a potted plant from. I believe those come in various sizes(and would match) and they can be tiered up the wall to hold all your balls.

I vote for PVC too! I have so many extra risers that I just use a riser for my stability ball. But my Medicine Ball is too small for the riser, so I just have that one sitting on a barbell plate right in the hole.
