About that cardinal from Monday...

he's still here, day 5 and counting. Thought I'd share with all you guys who responded with suggestions to my previous post. The bird is now lovingly named "Boomerang" and we greet him with a good morning at 6AM daily. He doesn't seem to be hurting himself and he feeds at the feeders. So we'll just enjoy him.

My mom had a bird like that once. She thought he was cute for a while, but that incessant banging against the window did start to bug her. He finally gave up, but I don't know why. Birds get a little strange about windows sometimes. We speculated that the light reflected in some way to make him think he was attacking another bird when it was really just his reflection. Wonder what would happen if you put a curtain up in that window for a while?

I LOVE your big windows, by the way. All that light in the house must be lovely!
