A Yoga Like P90X?

So I love the P90x yoga for introducing me to a yoga I like and want to do. But now Tony is on my nerves :p Does anyone have any suggestions for a yoga that is as intense as the P90x version but shorter (30-45 minutes), not so much chatter, though instruction is fine, and more flow as opposed to the start and stop?

TIA!

Hey Sparrow-

I often substitute one of Bryan Kest's Power Yoga programs when an hour and a half of X Yoga is a bit much :) I don't know the exact run times but they are all less than an hour.

Hope that helps!

I like Bryan Kest also. I have the Power Yoga, energize, tone, and Sweat that are all around an hour. Baron Baptiste isn't too bad either, I have the Live Soul Strength which also has 3 workous (2 shorter, and one 60 min).

Also, I split up YogaX. The first 50 min of Vinyasas one day, and the last 40 min of balance postures/ Yoga Belly 7 another day.

HTH!

Another vote for Bryan Kest, especially the older 3-series (when he had long hair...), especially volume 2 of that one. It's probably my favorite yoga of all time. But it's about an hour, I think, maybe a little longer than you'd want but much shorter (and less goofy!) than Tony!

One more vote for Kest's Power Yoga series!

All 3 programs (Energize, Tone, Sweat) run at about 50 minutes.

I usually alternate between them since they target different areas and have different asanas.

It's a good choice!

Chris.

Sparrow,

Bryan Kest is a great one, but there are also others: Aerobic Yoga, Shive Rea (matrix one), Rodney Yee (Power Yoga Total Body, Doug and Dave Swenson, all fantastic.

Have fun!

OOPS! Wardrobe malfunction!
The idea is to die young as late as possible.

I agree with everyone else about Bryan Kest and Baron Baptiste. I really like Baron Baptiste's Power Yoga: Next Challenge. It's about 70 minutes and I find Baron much more relaxing than Tony. David Swenson's Short Forms (45 mins. practice) is a very good intermediate practice.

Sheesh - I just did Yoga X yesterday and I'm am sore!! I've also got Rodney Yee (I don't remember which one). I also have the Ally McGraw Yoga Mind and Body which I really like. I think the instructor is Eric Schifmann. He's got a great soothing voice. It's a really good workout because it's challenging, but shorter, so you're done in a reasonable timeframe but you still sweat. I'll have to try some of the others mentioned.

How about doing P90X Yoga but turn off the music and the cueing. You can make it so you don't hear him very often and can play your own music. Just a thought.

P90x Yoga turned me on to yoga and I've done a lot of hunting for substitutes since I am soo bored with P90x yoga.

I think Bryan Kest is most similar to P90x. But my favorite yoga routines now are Yoga Shakti and Fluid Power by Shiva Rea. I think they are fantastic. For a real challenge, advanced Yoga by Rodney Yee has some really tough poses, it's something to work up to.
