A workout I may never try again...

The other day I did The Gauntlet, immediately followed by the Blast Only premix of Imax 3. Yow. I actually completed it,though my form was pretty sloppy at the end. I needed something to really push me. But the next day, my bad knee ached all day - it hardly ever bugs me now. And I re-pulled a muscle that took me forever to heal way back in September. Sigh. Here I thought I found a super cool challenge. But my old, falling apart body betrayed me again.

Shannon,

I'm sorry about what happened. It's so frustrating because we try so hard to be fit but as we get older we have to be so careful. Not fair!!! I hope you heal quickly and don't do any more damage.

I'm sorry you hurt your knee. I can totally relate to what you're going through. I have to accept I'm not a teenager anymore and my knees can get hurt with all the impact. On Friday I had to lower my step to 6" to do Body Max when awhile ago I did it on 8" like it was nothing. I'm pretty sure I burned tons of calories too and the next day I had no knee pain. I'm doing MIC on Tuesday and again I'll do the step portion on a 6" and I'll try to modify the floor segments too. At least Cathe is including more low impact workouts now and hopefully she'll keep doing that in future DVDs.

WOW!...that is a killer workout to try. Just be careful as we age we don't heal up as fast....I am referring to myself at 46....but I am impressed by you....:+ :) ..Carole

Thanks, ladies -
The injuries weren't bad and are mostly gone now. But it just ticks me off that they happened at all.

Carole - yes, a killer workout, indeed! And fun. What I wonder is, will this happen every time I push, or can I strengthen those weak points a little? And do I need to?
