Cathlete
I posted this question but I think it may not have worked.
I have seen copies of her brand new videos on ebay when I know they are brand new. I thought only Cathe sold her DVD's thru her company only?
Why are there copies on ebay already?
Just curious.. probably naive.. hopefully not stupid!
Thanks..
Kelly

I would think that some smart peopke bought several copies of Cathe's tapes during the preorder period, and will now try to sell these sealed copies for more than they paid for them. They can sell them for less than the current prices, but still at a profit. I don't know how much of a profit it will be, but I've seen that on Ebay people are willing to pay a lot for things, even if they can get them cheaper somewhere else.

Rest assured we don't sell our products on Ebay; however, there are several reasons why you will see our products on Ebay. We have several customers that order as many as 20 times a month from us. We can only assume they are reselling our product on Ebay. In other cases, people are probably making illegal copies for themselves and selling either the originals or copies on Ebay. This is illegal and can result in federal prosecution. Lastly, many people will sell their older videos/DVDs or ones that they don’t like on Ebay to make room for other purchases.

Thankyou for that reply.. I can see now why people think that the new videos are such a hot product for re-sale.. she is after all, a sure fire thing right?
This question may be out of line but I'll ask it anyway.
If I wanted to make a copy of my DVD so I can put my original away and preserve it from scratches or even theft can I do that?
I live in Australia and aquiring those DVD's was a HUGE undertaking for me so I'd like to protect what I have.
I do this with my CD's so I always have a master and I would never consider re-selling them.. this is just for private use.
What do you think of this?
Thanks,
Kelly

Hi Kelly,

I see you haven't gotten a response yet. I don't think it is illegal to copy something if it strictly for your own use and you are keeping the original. I can understand with what you must pay for a DVD and shipping that you'd want a back-up.

Hopefully SNM will answer, but I'm sure they'd be fine with it as long as you aren't selling them!

:)

RE: technically not possible

Legally yes, technically no. All of our disc our dual layered and that means it is impossible to make a copy with a burner. Dual layered disc contain about 9 gigs of information, while a burner can only burn to a single layered disc that holds a little over 4 gigs.

RE: technically not possible

It is possible with the right software. It's not possible to get the same quality unless you want to use more than one disc. Most of the software is free, but again it's not terribly easy to do, and in my opinion not worth the trouble for a backup copy of a product like Cathe's. It makes much more sense to buy an extra copy.
