I was interested in your response regarding walking lunges for the inner thigh and knee area. May I ask you a question? What exercises would be good to work the vastus medialus (VMO) muscle? I know about knee squeezes but anything else you can think of that would strengthen this muscle?
 
Resisted leg extensions, straight leg raises, squats, one legged squats, lunges, and bench-stepping are supposed to target this muscle.

My own experience has been that nothing works as well as leg extensions for this, one of my worst areas of leg "mush." I used to have saggy knees, but no longer.
