A "MELTING" Wednesday!

RE: A

Robin,

WTH???Their own airplane?? Ok, so here is what you do. Go out to dinner and ask the waiter, in front of everyone for separate checks, in a cheery voice explain to the relatives that you and DH due to the tough economic times are really strapped right now, or something like that!

Or,call Domino's...they are pretty cheap, just don't bust your arse cooking...I only do that occasionally now, as I have come to realize folks don't really care whether their food comes from the deli around the corner, or your stovetop--well, at least in my house. If you feel guilty about that, bake one of your fabulous cakes or something. :7

Leanne, have to check out Macy's! And Shelley, how was lunch today?:7 Gad you are feeling better.

PS..My hair is not as long as hers, but its almost done to my shoulders, also, its baby fine.;( So, while Heidi looks hot, I look lukewarm.;)

RE: A

Robin - I like Tneah's suggestion of asking for separate cheques!

Tneah - I'd put money on you NOT looking lukewarm, girl! Lunch was so much better! Thanks for asking!

Leanne - my hair is in the very shaggy growing out angled bob right now. It's a bit of a mess, to be honest, but I'm hoping it will be long enough by RT time to put at least teeny ponytails in the back. I'm going to keep the bangs though. I like 'em and I also have a huge forehead. I think bangs work better for me.

RE: A

Shelley -- Ooh -- I bet you'd look adorable in the teeny ponytails! I love that look! I've got a massive forehead, too, so I gotta keep the bangs . . . well, that and the wrinkles that I'm trying to cover up, too!;-) Glad that today is going better for you!

Robin -- Like Tneah said, WTH about that airplane??! That is just so shocking that they have so much money, yet do so little to share with the expenses or even offer to help with the cooking and clean-up. Tneah's idea of asking for separate checks is a good strategy!

Tneah -- You look HOT, and definitely not lukewarm, you silly chica, you!:) Have you tried looking at that store that some people mentioned for separates to wear to the wedding? What was it called again? Maybe the regular Ann Taylor has some cute dresses; their stuff is always so elegant and classic-looking!

I'm drowning in grading today and am moving at a snail's pace, which makes it even worse. I'm going to take a break to go try that new Tracey circuit workout!

RE: A

OK, I'm back. My eyes feel a little fuzzy today--maybe just sleepiness or something. I can't even see what I'm typing clearly so I hope I don't mess up too much. Luckily I'm a good typist. Thank you high school typing class.

While Ewan was at school I managed to get a filling and return some stuff to Kohl's. Of course you guys know me.... I can't walk through Kohl's to make a return without walking back through finding stuff to buy. I actually bought a third pair of those platform shoes--this time in black. I just really love those shoes. They even feel pretty comfy (well for at least the first hour or so; then they start bothering me if I walk too much). I also got some crazy Kermit & Miss Piggy pajamas: http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/jun...3504/Miss+Piggy++Kermit+Pajama+Separates.jsp#

I won't actually wear them to bed (I only wear satiny pjs to bed) but they'll be fun to lounge around in.

Robin, just say no to cooking for the relatives after working all day! Your statement about them watching TV the whole time reminded me of a time I had an old college friend come to visit when we lived in London. She'd never been there before but seemed to spend a ton of time sitting on our couch reading. I mean, I love to read myself but she was in friggin' London! She did finally get out and see a little. :)

Shelley, impressive 20 lb curls! My husband uses 20 lbs for curls. I always want to correct his form, though, because I think he uses too much momentum. I'm sure your form is much better!

Deb, I hope you'll share lots of pics with us when you get the new puppy! Luckily the Cathe.com people quickly wrote me back and said they would send me the correct shirt right away. They also said I didn't have to return the wrong shirt, so I've got a free shirt.

OK, in the middle of writing all this I had to go get Isaac from the bus stop.

Jennifer, glad you're feeling better!

Shannon, do you do CCs on a treadmill or elliptical. I seem to remember you have an elliptical--is that right. I still need to talk DH into us getting an exercise bike, but going to wait until after I register for the August RT before asking to spend more. :)

Tneah, love the cut. Not loving my own cut so much. I loved it when she first cut it but it's very hard to get it to look at all tamed. Actually it usually looks decent after I wash it and style it, but then I sleep on it and wake up a mess and the mess is hard to fix. I don't like to wash my hair every day, though, or it gets too dry. Your clothing choices for the wedding sound great to me! I have problems with pictures, too. Actually so does Brian. Neither of us comes off as cute in pics as we are in real life. Or maybe we just have big egos. Even Isaac takes a lot of bad pictures and he's adorable. Ewan is the only one who stays pretty consistently cute both in person and in photos. Don't know where he got the photogenic gene. Actually, my current avatar is actually a mirror image of the real pic. I liked how I looked better that way--which is more how I look to myself in the mirror, you know. So the avatar is not reallye exactly how I look. Oh and my hair is really fine, too, but I have a lot of it, so it often takes off in its own wild directions. And I'm with Leanne, I'm sure you look hot!

Leanne, how did you like CircuitZone? My thumb is much better, thanks. As for the dress, Brian hasn't seen it yet. He was out of town a couple days until late last night so I haven't had a chance to show it to him.

Later, chicas.

RE: A

Hey guys,

Lainie, I sleep in satiny pj's too!:) But lounge in the adorable kind you just got. I am a fan of Victoria's Secret satin pj's and their Pink line of lounge stuff, but love Target's too. LOL about the "big ego's", maybe thats my problem.;) I don't wash everyday either (my hair that is), second day hair is usually a ponytail. I have to get a little product build up going on for my hair to look like I actually have any!

Shelley! Thanks so much for the cardio coach and itread DVD! I just got it today, might have to try it tonight. You are a doll, thanks for thinkin' of me.

Leanne, have fun with Tracey!:) I need to branch out more, but I did a little, I ordered jumpsnap, hope I like it?

OK, my freaking middle back hurts so bad today in that bad way, it hurts all the way around into my chest bones or something. OUCH. Everytime I work back, that area underneath my shoulder blades gets all jacked up. Does that happen to you guys ever? I hate working my back because of it, then my lower back is another sad arse story..it always hurts. Poor me. :p Jennifer is nursing a sprain, Lainie is nursing a sprainm plus a hurt thumb, Robin just had knee surgery, and I am whining about my silly back...thanks for listening though. Maybe I will go to that mini massage place in SD, its a walk-in place where they rub your feet and back without you having to undress...heaven on earth.:7

RE: A

Tneah, I don't think there is any pain worse than a chronic back pain. Well, except maybe childbirth, but that is over in a couple hours. And there is no way anyone could ever use your name and lukewarm in the same sentence.

If it were up to me, I'd jump on the seperate check thing. Trouble is, my DH is very generous and polite. He would grab the check if he was dining with the wealthiest person in the world. That was one of the greatest things about the trip we took with my sister and her DH last year. My BIL was even faster than my DH in grabbing the check, and a couple times, my DH had to go find the waiter ahead of time to make sure we got the check. My SIL complains they are short of cash, due to unexpected expenses for repairs on their plane. Puleeze! I don't get the TV thing either. My SIL is a very smart, classy woman. Her DH is an engineer. But they are addicted to TV and love to tell us about their favorite shows.

Lainie, how do you guys sleep in satiny pjs? My DH has bought me a couple nice sets, but the legs just slip and slide up until they're all bunched around my private parts. I guess it's due to restless leg syndrome.

I'm home with my trimed hair and newly colored hair, just killing time till DH gets home with subs. After 3 days of very good eating, I think I can afford a turkey sub, no cheese or mayo.

RE: A

Just got home from work, my CEO fell tonight. It was a very scary moment then she asked the HR person if her hose was torn. It scared the crap out of me, and all to familiar too.

Today, at lunch, I took off my wrap and put on shoes. No more crutches.

Aunt Flo came by surprise and made a stupid mistake at work, correctable but still stupid.

Have a Good Night.

RE: A

Robin, Oh your DH sounds just like mine, generous to a fault, I love it about him, but at the same time, well I do not like folks to take advantage of the generosity. Its a "guy" thing I think. Short of cash? That is what a credit card is for, no?;) They both sound like characters....boy oh boy.Do they watch good shows? Something you all can enjoy?Or not?x( What if you discussed the separate check idea with DH beforehand?
Oh, and I buy my jammies really big, so they do not bunch up...funny, I hate nightgowns for the very reason you hate pj's. They twist around my legs as I sleep and I feel suffocated. And I hate sleeping in the buff, cannot stand not having a bra on...too big on top to have them flopping around as I sleep.:7

Yeah, you got "new hair" too!Betcha look fine and foxy...enjoy your turkey sub, no cheese, no mayo.;) That sounds pretty clean to me.

Jennifer, oh no, Auntie Flo can be such a pain huh? But happy to hear your shoes are on again.

OK, time for more ibuprofen....

RE: A

Afternoon, ladies!

Well, I did the new Tracey S. Circuit Zone workout, and it was a lot of fun. There wasn't as much cardio as I was thinking there would be, but it was a fun workout and it seemed really low-key. It's my first workout with Tracey (I've been trying to branch out a bit), and I really like her personality. I bought a foam roller since she said that there would be a bonus foam rolling workout, but it was only a few minutes long, so I was just checking out a separate workout on Amazon that I may get since I now have this roller, and nothing much to use it with!

I had to call it a day with the grading b/c I was starting to lose it. I didn't finish what I needed to get done, though, so I'll have to get up at 4:00 tomorrow morning to finish up. Ug!

Robin -- Glad your hair turned out nicely! This is the same person you've been going to who did something not-quite-right last time, right? I'm glad you're still happy with him! Oh, a turkey sub is very healthy! Now if you add a yummy dessert to it . . . }( What an odd thing about your SIL and her family. Hopefully they'll pitch in with work and food this time! I can't do the satiny jammies either or nightgowns for the same reason!

Lainie -- Sounds like you've had a busy day today! Those jammies are so cute! I bet Brian will love the new dress. Did you see any other cute things at Kohls? I'm thinking about doing a little shopping on Friday . . . .

Tneah -- You poor thing with your back! Is it hurting you in the same area as it has been? Do you think you should go see the Dr.? It sounds like you might need some more serious intervention than just a massage. Let me know how you like the JumpSnap. I wanted to order one, but am trying not to buy too many new fitness toys since I'm trying to save up for that pull-up tower and some goodies for STS. We got some gloomy weather here yesterday and it's hanging around today, so I hope it clears up by the time you get out here. When will you be here?

Jennifer -- Looks like we were posting at the same time! Glad to hear that you're feeling better, but how scary about the CEO. Isn't that terrible when Aunt Flo arrives early?! Hope you relax tonight -- and stay off that ankle!

Oh, I forgot that we got some good news today -- we're getting a raise at work! We haven't had one for about five years, but our contract just got approved, and we'll get a retroactive raise sometime this summer that'll go back two years. Plus, our union negotiated a nice little yearly stipend for people with PhDs. Even though it'll be a few months before we get the money, I may have to do some clothes shopping soon after all! }(

OK, off to have a cup of tea and read a bit before I start dinner later on. I'm making a vegetarian curry . . . hope it turns out!

RE: A

Hi ladies!! I am just sneaking over from the Watercoolers to say hi to Robin.

Robin....
Yes...I went to the Buffett concert in Charlotte, NC last night...It was awesome!! We started tailgating around 2...and we were certainly not the first ones there!! We didn't do anything extravagant for tailgating, but there were all kinds of crazy things there. Lots of fun and comraderie with the whole group. People just walk up and down the rows of cars to say hi and chit chat a bit. Lots of fun...and the concert itself was great!! We had lawn tickets which were just fine. I have been to one other Buffet concert before and had pretty good seats for that one, but this was a lot of fun even without the up close seats. I can't believe you haven't made it to a concert yet!! You must go!! Lawn seats weren't too outrageous. I am going to post some pics on my trail tomorrow sometime...so take a look if you like. Just wanted to reply to your post from yesterday...didn't get back to the computer until this morning and saw your note. Good luck with the in-laws this weekend....That doesn't sound like any fun to me!

Later, melters!!
