Hi, Michelle - thanks for thinking of me and Bro!

My BIL heard from my bro yesterday afternoon, and he's well ensconced in the home of some friends of his some hours away from New Orleans. Like all the rest of the residents, he's now in wait-and-see mode as to when it's safe to come back, AND whether his home survived the onslaught. He may be bunking in with these friends, and then later with our father/stepmom, for the duration before they reopen the city.

I'm so glad your brother and friends are safe!!

The images I am seeing on TV are just utterly unbelievable. I hope he remains safe and away from the flooded areas!!!

The news footage is heartbreaking!! I normally think they go to the worst hit areas of a disaster and just harp on it so much that you think the world is ending, but in this situation it seems to be so consistantly widespread and not an exageration at all. So very sad, and my prayers are with the people from that area.
