Cathlete
Hey, all, just wondering if anyone can help me with this. I have been suffering from gas and bloating for awhile now. About 6 months back, I thought I was lactose intolerant, and that caused my gas. But its still hanging around, even tho I use lactaid and take lactose pills if I have cheese or yogurt.I have always eaten alot of frutis and veggies, so I don't think it could be a fiber issue. Do you know what else this might be caused by? is it possible that I may have another food allergy? Thanks in advance :)

RE: a

Sometimes it can be calcium supplements. Also sugar alcohols in foods or consuming foods with a lot of corn syrup solids. It could be a number of things. Have you changed a supplement or started eating or drinking something different? Not sure if this is any help.

Hm,interesting. I take a women's multivitamin. As far as sugar alcohols or corn syrup solids, I am not sure. I try to eat clean... I thought that it might be wheat products, but I am not sure.

I also notice that today I'm stricter with my diet, and I seem to have more gas. Don't know what that says :)

Thanks for your help, Diane :)

RE: a

You may want to try a digestive enzyme that tackles more than just dairy, as vegetables, beans and other good foods can also cause digestive problems. www.dixiediner.com offers a very good one that covers a multitude of digestive problems.

Hi Tina I had that problem for about a year now and finally figure it out. Last year I went from skim milk to soy so now I am back on skim milk and never felt better:). I still once in a while right before that time I get bloated but I will take a water pill a couple days before then and stop around the middle of it because I really get a lot of water weight gain right before and really irratable "sp" The reason I went from skim to soy is because my cholastrol was high but now I am just taking medicence for it. Now this is just me. You might have to play around and see what causes your problems.

RE: a

Actually, fruits and veggis produce more gas. If you have small children, you may have seen the little informational segment "Your Farts and You". It's HILARIOUS!

Have you talked to your doctor?

RE: a

lol, i'll have to remember that video when i do have kids :) I think I will talk to my doctor, I bet it is something that a change of diet or something simple will work. Thanks for all of your replies! i'll keep ya updated :)

Hi Tina;

Have you been eating any soy based products lately? That can cause some intestinal upset as well.
Also, when you talk to your doctor, ask about gallstones. That can also cause bloating/gas problems.

Take care, Lynn M.

RE: a

oh lord! i eat all that stuff!

i changed to soy milk.... i eat lotsa good fiber (kashi cereal with bananas, oatmeal, yummy homemade healthy muffins)

lots of veggies

fruit...

calcium plus a multi vitamin

no wonder i stink! lol!

RE: a

It just isn't fair is it?? :)

Try integrating the soy milk in gradually if that is a recent switch. If you give your body some time to get used to it, it may minimize the problems.

And with all of those wonderful things you are putting into your body at least you LOOK good!! ;)

OMG you had me cracking up when I read your post. I was just like you when I was using soymilk. It was horrible. I feel so much better now that I don't use the soymilk. I stop around 2 monthes ago.
