MAN! Like some of the other posts said, yesterday was a very tough day for too many of you! Personally, I'm super glad that you all feel comfortable enough to share with us and come to us for support! The generosity of support from these boards is just UNBELIEVABLE!
Having said that, let's share some GOOD news today.
Here's mine: I committed to a Relay For Life event in June, as part of my staff's team at our elementary school. I've set a personal fundraising goal of $2,000. Yesterday, my dad called me to inform me my mom went to his Contractor's Association, of which he is Secretary, and requested a donation on my behalf. (they had donated $250 about 2 years ago when I was fundraising for the Disney full marathon) They asked what they'd done in the past for me, the Treasurer told them, and the group UNANIMOUSLY voted to DOUBLE it. They cut a check for $500 ON THE SPOT, for The American Cancer Society! That brings my personal fundraising total up to $850 in just one week.
I'm super stoked about that. And the generosity of folks, during such an economically tough time, is so very humbling. Makes me proud of my community! And it makes me feel proud to be doing something for a cause that has hit me too many times, at home.
