Christine,

First of all you are way too cute for him!

Second of all, a man far better than this will be thanking his lucky stars to be finding you in the future. Now is the time to raise the bar for who gets to date you.

Third of all, God takes things away from us sometimes because he loves us so much he wants to give us something better. Maybe this dude was going to cheat on you, or leave you when you're 55.

All the losses have to be really hard to take, sounds like you were basically married. I'm sure sorry.

Someone told me it's like getting over being in a terrible car accident and being in intensive care. It does take a long time to heal and you won't be over it quickly.

Also, the waves of grief can hit you at unexpected times.

Be really good to yourself, decide on your own when you need to be with friends or hide under the covers all day, and do that.

Life gets better. These kinds of experiences change us but you will get better.

And like I said, you'll see it more clearly down the road when you're with Mr. Wonderful. And/or surrounded by so many good friends and fun things to do, you can't stop thanking God for letting that change happen.

Bella
Been there, done that, married to the man of my dreams now

:)

Well then I'll give you one thing to look forward to. You let me know when you're going down the shore & we'll hook up--I have a summer rental in Point Pleasant every year.

Do you live in NJ? If yes, where? Maybe we could get together sooner & have a good old fashioned bitch session.

You're a hoot :) And right now I really need to laugh.

We grew up in Cranford (northern) but now my brother lives in Brielle, which isn't far at all. Mom lives in Freehold.

I am going there for Christmas but since this all just happened, I haven't really worked out the details. I will probably be there for the day before Eve and then leave the day after Day. Probably not a good time to visit around the holidays.

After that, I am not sure when I will be home next but I will let you know. I would imagine not for a bit, since I will be moving and all:( After the dust settles from that, I will need that good ol' fashioned bitch session, that's for sure!

OMG Brielle--you are close! We will definitely hit the Tikki Bar this summer--I'm like 2 houses from the beach/boardwalk on the northern end, right by the inlet.

I'm very sorry, Christine. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Do whatever it takes. I know you're strong enough to get through this. Vent here whenever you need to and we'll be here for you. You have many, many friends here. Take whatever time you need to grieve.
