6 Monther Sunday checkin

FourAM

Cathlete
Good Morning to all!
Well it is my one day off this week, if you can call it that! I have a ton to do including print out the June Rotation so I can go through and see what I absolutely need but don' t have. I am going to be asking your opinions so be ready.
This is the last day of recovery for me and tomorrow I will start a week of circuits if I have time today to go through my dvds and see what would be most effective and if not I will revisit w1 of m1 this week and w1 of m2 next week. I am probably leaning that way because I do not have a lot of time today to just set and scan the dvds I have for the best circuit workouts and also unclear still that if I am doing a circuit style week if I should do 3 days of cardio and 3 days of circuit cardio and weights or what. I wish I had more time to study up. I like the definition of my muscles right now so I do not want to lean too much out right now with alot of cardio. But I have never done a real circuit type rotation so I do not know if that is how my body will react or not!

Gayle-Thanks for repeating yourself. I thought it was very simple like that. I need simple right now to keep me on track and getting in all the healthy meals I can. How was Nazareth day? What is it significant for? Is it like a summer festival in your town?

Chrissy-Do you have a mudslide hangover today:pI am not a sweet drink kind of girl. My Bf is though and I think that is her fave. I hope you r40 bd party lived up to the expectation!

Cendrine-I have never made a quiche and I never knew you could freeze them. If it is not too much trouble could you share how you do and if you thaw before you cook.
I am desperatley needing to mop and clean around here too. Yesterday right after we walked in the door we had company come and my house was less than desirable. It was clutter free but needed a good scrubbing so I will try to do some scrubbing today.

Julie-Get to it when you can. With our work schedule I do not see sh diving into anything to soon. But I will let him know that it is still coming and that will give hime something to look forward to!

Jo-You poor thing. I hope you are migraine free for your company. I neverthought about how it must affect your whole family when you get those things. I hope some good comes out of the tests you are going to have. They need to hurry and get you fixed!

OK guys I am off to stat my chili and Gayle's salsa chicken. I will try to be back later for the dvd advice. What to buy and what to sub.

Rachel

Good Morning Sunshine Girls!

I'm happy healthy and headache free! Yeah!!!

I just had a 1/2 a banana and am having my Montana Grizzley Bear coffee and then I'm off to do Disc 17 legs! After that I'll finish my cleaning and then off to the store to pick up a few more groceries.

Rachel, just as a suggestion for your circuits, throw in High Step Training Advanced for the day you want a lot of leg work. That one is a killer with all the leg presses...and since we didn't have those during STS it might be a nice change of pace. Another favorite of mine is The Gauntlet on the Terminator DVD. Anyway, just suggestions! Also, for one week of circuits, nothing should change body-wise...it throws your body into a nice tail-spin! :D Oh, one more suggestion....don't you love Step Blast? If so, you might try one of the circuit premixes on that DVD. Also, if you're concerned about your cardio then either do 30 minute cardios on cardio day or eliminate one or two. You'll get heart rate up on those circuits (especially HSTA!).

Okay, enough talk...I'm off to do Disc 17!

Cendrine, I'll try and provide my crab salad recipe for you later! How'd the party go?

Good Day Everyone!!!!! Happy Sunday!!!! Happy July 19!!!! Happy Sunshine!!!!:p

Hi Guys,

rest day for me today, workout wise, but still got stuff to do before company arrives.

Jo, sorry to hear you had another one! What a drag! When are you going in for the tests? I so hope they find out the cause so they can help you get better! I'm glad you're back up and running today!

Rachel, the quiche is very easy to make:

4 eggs (I use egg whites)
1/2 cup cream (I use milk)
1 bell pepper chopped
1 cup broccoli chopped
1 tomato chopped
onion
ham or bacon and cheese to taste
salt, pepper

whisk the eggs with milk and set aside. Sautée veggies for 5 minutes, add to eggs, mix in any other ingredients you have a hankering for, including the cheese, bacon or ham, etc.

You can either pour the whole mix in one casserole dish and bake as a whole batch, or you can pour them into individual containers (I used jumbo cupcake aluminum cups (the kind that does not need a muffin pan) and some individual sized aluminum pie forms that I had at hand) I also placed them on a cookie sheet and baked at 350 for 25 minutes. I cooled them then froze them on the tray before putting them into bags (so they don't stick together)

I hope it works for you! I just realized that I had bought ingredients to make one more batch, but I'm out of containers, so gotta go get more of those first. This one will be an asparagus, ham quiche, yummy!

Ok, gotta go get the day started!

Okay, I SWEAR I don't remember the leg workouts being this tough! My butt has been complaining since an hour after the workout! I know I'm going to have to use the elevator tomorrow!

Well, we got the house in tip top shape and that includes cleaning the wood slat blinds! After completing the inside, DH and I went outside and cleaned all the decks and he blew off the driveway, etc. We got tons done and have still not made it to the grocery store! Got to got have some dinner and then I'll try and be back for one more post! My house is really CLEAN! I love it!

DISC 17 WAS KILLER!!!!!

Jo, the legs are tougher the second round? Oh my. I was in pretty bad shape the first round...
Sounds like you got a sparkling house! How nice! My house is now not sparkling any more, company has come and gone, and I wonder why it is I clean before and not after company...LOL!

I tried a new recipe today for roasted acorn squash soup. It turned out really yummy. If any of you are interested, let me know and I'll post it.

I got High step training on the menu for tomorrow. I saw some mention of a high step training advanced. I never heard of that. I am assuming it's what I know as high step training and maybe I just missed the 'advanced' in the title... It better be advanced, if it's not then I am in worse shape than I thought...LOL! Anyway, HST for me tomorrw. Kind of looking forward to it. That is one of the first Cathe DVD's I invested in.

Cendrine, HSTA is the one with leg presses every round...and twice on round 4 or 5. Sound familiar? I love that workout!

Here is the traditional Crab Louie:
  • crab meat,
  • hard boiled eggs,
  • tomato,
  • asparagus,
  • cucumber,
  • served on a bed of Romaine Lettuce
  • traditional uses 1000 island type dressing or chili pepper dressing
But...here's the Jo version (made individually in each bowl):
  • Crab Meat
  • Chopped romaine
  • Green onion
  • cucumber
  • 1 oz walnuts (halves)
  • 1 hard boiled egg
  • 5 grape tomato (or whatever tomato you have)
  • 10 red seedless grapes
  • chunks of fresh peach or clementine or strawberries (your choice)
  • red or yellow peppers chopped (we use those little mini peppers so figure about 1/2 per bowl)
  • throw on some garbanzos
  • Costco pico de gallo for dressing
  • Asparagus if we have it
You can also use shrimp or salmon or whatever you want on the salad. As you can see it's just a salad! But it's fabulous and with all the different flavors everyone always raves about it!

Yes, please post your recipe for acorn squash soup! I LOVE acorn squash anything!
