---> 6 Month STS Alumni-week of March 6<---;)

Good Sunday morning!

Sorry no post yesterday but I got so busy with errands in town and then movie night with dh.:D

I DID IT!!! I FINISHED THE FEB. ROTATION!!!

After Saturday's morning workout I was not sure if I would get back to the second workout for the day. All day in town I was thinking I might skip it but then I was feeling like I was kind of quitting if I didn't do it. After all it wasn't like I worked all day and there was any good excuse not to do it except just not wanting to. So I did it and I am so proud of myself!!!
Then it got me thinking...I was so proud that I conquered such a tough rotation that maybe I should reward myself. So I think that every time I feel like I have overcome a fitness obstacle like this rotation I am going to get something that I normally wouldn't ...maybe something from lululemon Jo;):D:p

I think the days plans might go something like this. Cleaning this morning and then after DH stirs we are going to get ready to cut down a big sweet gum tree in our back yard. Some friends of ours are coming over to help. I hate this tree. We are always having to rake the sweet gum balls up (I don't know if yall have these trees) The balls are little spiky things that if you mow over they become little weapons that shoot through the air...hahaha
So lots of work for this afternoon.

I better get to it or I won't be able to get anything done in the house.

Have a great start to the week!;)

GOOD MORNING! YES I'M UP!!! And I'm off to SPIN!!!

Shocking I know! Even I'm shocked! I finally woke up headache free and I woke up without my alarm! So I'll be back later.

Rachel - YOU ROCK! What a fantastic accomplishment! Yes Rachel, you deserve a nice reward! You'e earned it and worked hard hard hard!

Oh by the way, lululemon groove pants are reversible. Yes, they are expensive, they fit like butter and they are REVERSIBLE! So you get two pair or pants in one! Yes, a got a pair and LOVE them!

Okay, I'm grabbing a quick snack then off to the gym! Have a great day!

Oh yeah and I don't know what a gum ball tree is. We have cedar, firs, maples, birches, trees like that - no gum balls! LOL! :p

I had a FABULOUS spin! I am so glad and got up and went!

Now off to have a bite, a shower, and hit the books. Some friends invited us over for chili tonight. The guy, just won a chili cookoff contest some place so wants us to come help eat it! LOL!

Have a good day!

Kim, it sounds so nice to have that reunion to work through stuff that you all shared an experience in. I think that will be really good for all of you!

Rachel, congrats! You da woman!

Jo, how was the chilli? Makes me want to have some!

We went out to eat last night at a thai restaurant that we like and this morning ds got up feeling sick. He has been in the bathroom off and on all day, looking rather green and gray! We think it's the shrimp he had last night....:( He loves shrimp and we think this batch was not cooked properly. He's feeling a little better now but still not out of the woods. He was upset that he did not get to go to a birthday party. But he enjoyed watching movies all day...

We're getting ready to leave in a few minutes but just wanted to pop in for a second.

My GF from yesterday said she's doing this program called Peak 8. She had gained a few pounds having gone from a size 6 to a 10 and though she workout all the time couldn't lose the weight. She started this program and has dropped back down to a 6 without changing her diet. I think part of it might be from shaking things up, but it sounds like same concept as Cathe's HIIT:

http://www.highonhealth.org/my-new-workout-peak-8-fitness/

Kim, I think doing the reunion is a great idea and very healing and helpful to everyone. I agree with you on Maeve, she has great character development. I read an article about her and both her and her husband are authors. I forget who here husband is though.

Cendrine, my goodness, I hope DS is all better tonight. That stinks! DH got food poisoning one time when we were in Hawaii and it was horrible!

Rachel, how are things with the gum ball tree? LOL! I don't know why that seems funny to me but I think it's your description of them flying through the air!

Okay, I just got my cue that it's time to go! Talk to you all later!

Ds is feeling his old self again today. I'm so glad, he was pretty miserable yesterday. We put him to bed early and he slept straight through the night and was his mischievous self again this morning... ;)

I did disk 16 today, should feel it in my chest and triceps later today.... and I was a good girl and took all my rests...

P.E. class got cancelled due to rain, so not we have a free afternoon, which is kind of nice! Dh planted our veggie garden last weekend and the rain is perfect to give the plants a jump start. I just wanted to order the plants I saw online the other day but now there is an online error and I can't order...

I know there was stuff I was going to do today, and now I can't remember because I didn't write it down. I bet it will come to me when I'm lying down tonight...

Happy Monday!

Cendrine, glad DS is back to his ol' self! LOL! Good girl for being a good girl with your rests! :D

Chilli was good last night and we had a nice visit with our friends. I was bad and ate some girl scout cookies at their house and so it made me feel bloated and miserable. I'll have to do extra cardio! LOL! :D I know why I don't eat that stuff! But yes, it was good going down. Okay and I didn't eat A cookie, (I'm confessing now...) I ate 5 cookies - yes 5!!! What up with THAT? I don't know...I was just standing by the counter talking and putting cookies in my mouth. Next thing I knew I had eaten 5! LOL! Oh well, this is my week for the lunch bunch so we had big salads today with all fresh greens, peppers and strawberries! I feel redeemed and cleansed! :p

Alright, back to work. I plan to do MM when I get home tonight.

Hello Kim and Rachel!

Good Monday ...night.
I ran out of time this morning so here I am again with a late checkin.
I know I said I was going to take a recovery week but since this months rotation is upper body more than lower body ...I thought I would go ahead and risk it. Plus I noticed that time change is next weekend and I knew it would make starting a new rotation on Monday super hard if I slept in this week!

Any way we started a new job today and it is going pretty smooth. Have I said I love these little jobs...I know I have!!! But I do. Everytime we are on one there are more reasons to love them. Todays reason...we are the only ones there. I love this. Sometimes it gets a little old being the only gal on the job, if you catch my drift.

So todays workout was GS Chest and tris and since I hadn't worked upper body like that in a while, I felt in good.

Cendrine- You are bouncing right through STS! Do you feel like you are still seeing the results you were getting in the beginning? Aren't you just going one time through this meso?
Poor Ds. Food poisoning is the worst! Good thing it doesn't last as long as say the flu though. It sure is miserable while it last though.

Kim-It will be nice if you and the others from jd can get together. It's nice of you to set that up at your house too. I bet with the extra space it is easier to have a gathering like that.
I meant to ask if your snow is melting yet?

Jo-Way to go on the spin!!!
THose darn girls with their girl scout cookies are at every entrance to every store I went into this weekend.! It feels kind of bad to say no but I want to say if you had something a little healthier...then maybe!!!LOL I know if I bought those cookies I would eat more than 5 so you should feel good that you stopped when you did!
I took some pics of the sweet gum balls to show you I just have to load them on the comp. I will get around to it.

The tree came down pretty good and we already got everything all cleaned up and ready to burn when the weather is right.

I am off to have some dinner! Have a great night.

Hi quick note - having a really busy day. I am going to make it to spinning again tonight! Heehaw!! Then TBL! Yippee!! Not much else to report.

Hope your Tuesdays are happy!

Quick in and out for me too...Workout this morning was KPC and I tried to go all out with anything related to legs since I am kind of getting a break on them.
My tris and chest are killing me today. So I got worked and am shaking in my boots for tomorrows bis and back.
Again I am super impressed by your progress on weights and plates, Cendrine. I had to do that one yesterday and I stunk at it. LOL

Nothing new here either. So I am off to get dinner going.

TTYT.:D

I did tm and stability ball abs today. I kind of stick with the stability ball, weight and plates and no equipment abs because those just are the ones I like the best and are the easiest for me to sub other stuff in if one move is not back friendly. So I guess I'm getting better at those...

dd's not feeling well today, so I'm starting to wonder if ds had a 24hr bug instead of food poisoning... ? So I'm thinking of skipping their dance classes today.

FInished week 1 of the March rotation! Feels good to be back in a routine with exercise and work. I am working longer work days so not sure if you'll hear from me everyday especially when the kids have evening activities. DS had a hockey game yesterday and with travel time, it was a 3 hour outing.
They have made the city championships!!! :D:DThe game will be a best out of 5 series, there is still one more game to decide who their opponents will be. The hockey players are really excited!!

Rachael I can't believe you jumped into the March rotation!! You're amazing!! I would love to see a picture of a gum tree. I can't imagine working with all guys, I work with all girls and that can cause issues sometimes. Where would you shop at Lululemon? From online? My tris and chest killed me after GSCT too, my family got sick of hearing me complain.

Jo I'm sitting here watching TBL! Hope you get a chance to watch it this evening after spinning.

Cendrine Well hopefully it's just a quick virus going through the kids and things will be back to normal soon!

Rachael, no snow melting here yet! It's still bitterly cold, minus 20's, with a snowpile almost as high as the house in the front yard. I'm having 3 house parties coming up and no one will be able to see the address over the snow pile, I"m going to get dd to make a address sign to stick on top of the snow pile. I'm so sick of winter! Hoping to see some warmer weather soon.

Disk 17 done. Those trisets are so fast! Before I know it the workout is done!

I'm glad you are back in a routine, Kim! You are going to be busy with 3 happenings at your house! Lately I have been feeling very lazy and having company over has just seemed like too much work.... It's always enjoyable when I take the time to do it but I feel pretty lazy right now...

Rachel, you are on some kind of super power ride, the way you are going from one rotation to the next! LOL! Way to go!

Jo, how is the workload for your classes? It seems it's more doable, since you have time for your awesome spinning classes! YAY!

I'm prereading history for ds right now and it's all about the Incans...quite interesting (we never studied them when I was in school in Switzerland, so a lot of this is new and interesting to me! I love History! I found a moccassin making kit and already ordered it. Now I'm sure I'll find something the Incans made that I want to find a kit for....

Cendrine, I just love how you always find some kind of crafty thing to do to go along with the lesson plan. I bet that really helps in stick with the kids. I am sure it makes them enjoy it more. I love history too. Right now I am reading a book called Unbroken:...There is more to the title but it is so long I forgot it:eek: Its on the kindle. It is about WWII and mainly a man named Louis Zamperini. It is so interesting and really nt a book I was sure if I would like but I am really enjoying the history lesson.

Kim, The weather differences between us are just unimaginable...Here I am cold at 59. I am sure you are TIRED!!! of winter!
I can not believe you are having 3 gatherings. I don't do that much "entertaining" so I get totally stressed when I do. You must be a master at it by now.
Way to go on getting back to a schedule! I know I always do better if I am.
As far as being sore, DH and I will take turns poking each other where we think it hurts...Love torture. LOL:D

This rotation has a lot more shorter workouts so I feel like I am kind of getting a little bit of a break...don't get me wrong though, I was worn out still by the end of KPC! I don't think I do any of Cathe's workouts enough for them to get easy. Do yall feel the same way? I feel like I am not really trying to lose weight per say so I am kind of maintaining and was wondering do yall think that there is enough variety from month to month that I would be fine just doing Cathe workouts or if I should try some other ones now and again. I really love Cathe and the way she trains so I was hoping that the variety offered would be enough. What do yall think?

I think I have a 4 day weekend so I will get that pic of the sweet gum balls up. The tree is just like an oak tree sort of. But it is like a weed. It grows fast and even if you cut it down the tree will grow back around the stump so you have to completely kill it out. Then when you cut them they are not good for anything. They are sticky on the inside so they don't do well for your fireplace and there logs are not used for anything decorative so they are just a junk tree really.

OK better be off. I am hungry!

Rachel, I'm sure I would love that book, I really am very interested in the WWII era stuff, many other things too, but there just seems a special interest in this one. I agree with you that things will stick more with the kids if they get to do something hands on, but to be quite honest, I really do it just for the fun of it, it just so happens to solidify what they learned....:p I always would have loved doing stuff like this when I was in school, so I'm kind of living through my kids...

I think Cathe has a ton of different approaches of workouts to keep your body well on its toes, and you can do even more so by changing up the weights on your own, and the rotation you just did with all those lunges, boy, that was something! So, I think it is fine to stick with Cathe, since that is what you enjoy. Because for me, if I don't enjoy it I won't stick with it, and therefore it is more important that I like it, than that it necessarily fits a certain criteria. But I think the bottom line is go with what you feel like. One month you may feel like adding something different, (you can try out stuff from netflix). I know I always come back to Cathe, but I enjoy the occassional Pilates or other kind of workout and in the summer more cross training is added with biking and hiking. But as far as weights go, I'm pretty much always do something Cathe....;)

Hi Everyone! I'll have time to get caught up tonight but wanted you to know I just did another crazy thing! I signed up to play soccer! I know I know...you're saying - WHAT? I know me too! I told them I can't play all the time because of school but they don't care! So Wednesday nights but it doesn't start for a little bit yet (maybe April?).

Hope you're all having a good day!

PUB done! Nothing else exciting around here. Taking ds to his first orthodontist appointment tomorrow, not looking forward to hearing how much his braces are going to cost.:(

I agree with Cendrine, as long as you are enjoying your workouts, I think there is enough variety with cathe.

The soccer sounds fun Jo! I played team sports, hockey (ice and field), waterpol and a little soccer before kiddos were born but I discovered at home workouts when the kids were little and have never returned to team sports. As much as I enjoyed the athletics there always seem to be an overcompetitive person on the team who made the experience less then enjoyable. After the kids I got in to the marathon running for a few years.
Hope you enjoy the experience! Have you played before? Is it indoor or outdoor?

Cendrine, my three get togethers are spend out over the next month so I have lots of time to prepare. I've sent out invitations to all of them. So many went by email and it always stresses me when I don't hear back from people if they got the email of not. One get together is the jury, one is my coworkers and one is a group of friends from high school. Over the last year I've told so many people I would have them over once the house was ready so not I have lots of promises to fulfill.

Good Friday!!!
It's funny...I could have swore I checked in yesterday but I guess I just read the posts. Sometimes I don't know where my brain in.

This mornings workout was BM2. That is another marathon of a workout. I mad it to the end but I did lower my step on the last 3 power circuits. I guess I didn't pace myself because there was no way I was going to make it on an eight in step. :eek:OH well. I still feel good and worked out! That's what counts. Thank goodness I did not have to go to work today or I don't know if I would have gotten the full 90 mins. in.

I think I have asked this before but what kind of shoes do you use for your Cathe workouts? I think I read somewhere that she recommended cross training shoes but I am having a hard time finding any with a look that I like. I guess I am more drawn to a running shoe.

Cendrine-I think your kiddos are lucking out getting to do all these fun projects with you esp. since you enjoy them too.
"Unbroken" is a little bit dark at times but it is so interesting to see what people went through during those times. I think it is really well written.

Kim-Hopefully you are able to pay the braces out. They have that here. I think it is great because when I was growing up I needed braces badly but with 4 kids there just wasn't the extra money for them. It was hard growing up with jacked up teeth. LOL I think my dentist felt pity on me...he was such a nice old man...When I was 16 I was in a car wreck and broke off one of my front teeth. So he devised a retainer that would pull the teeth together in the front. This way they would be straight when he put the crown on. It really changed my life I think.

Jo-Oh you make me wish we were neighbors! I would love to play some soccer! I was the opposite of Kim. I wasn't athletic at all in my youth but now feel like I missed out! I had to tell DH you were going to play and he even said "Wow" LOL I just think it is the coolest thing. Hopefully you might get to post a pic or two.;)

Well I was going to try and get some yard work done but it is too windy to burn anything so I don't know what I am going to do .. Hope yall all have a great day and great weather.
