***6 Month STS alumni*** Week of Feb 27***

Good Friday morning All!

I have to admit I have a raging headache. Just took some migraine medicine but I'm confident I'm going to conquer it! :):)

So with that said, I'm going to go hit the shower and get going. Hope you all have a great day! Just wanted to say Hello!

I had a headache yesterday, don't know exactly what brought it on. I hope yours is already over!

I love the trisets and the other work for upper body and how it is sequenced. My legs have been the sorest they've been since starting STS! Especially my hamstrings but also parts of my quads.... O was wondering, since I am not going up in weights as prescribed, should I still wait the full 60 seconds between each rest or cut it a bit shorter since I'm not as fatigued as they are because they are lifting heavier?

I'm glad you got to spin and seem to be able to be consistent with this time's school schedule! How great that the other guy is joining you guys!

I'm off to get groceries, bbl

I guess a bobcat working on the new street construction behind us took out the street's cable access. We had no phone, internet, or tv for 24 hrs, my poor kids were totally lost on how to spend the evening yesterday:p:p I actually got to see more of them.

I did do CS Chest/Triceps yesterday and attempted Ab Circuits: Plates and weights. It felt hard! I was able to do all the push-ups on my toes but that completely exhausted me and I had to lighten up on the weight work. I haven't been doing that much strength work lately as when I was working out I did Insanity and then Cathe's Jan. rotation was cardio heavy. Today will be KPC which I always enjoy.

I took ds for his pulmonary function tests at the children's hospital this morning. I don't know if you remember but the pediatrician wanted to get a baseline while he was doing so well. The outcome was that he is in the category of severe asthma. It seems like we are really just documenting the obvious. DS has been pretty well controlled in the 2 years :)eek: can't believe it's that long) that we have been checking in but when he was younger we spent a lot of time in the hospital. He's staying home for the rest of the day as he's not feeling so well now.

Jo YAY! You got to go back to spin class! Hope you're feeling better soon!
What are you reading these days? I'm really into Maeve Binchy these days.

Cendrine I would just do the 60 seconds rest. You probably could go with a shorter rest but I don't know if it's worth the bother of fast-forwarding all the time just enjoy the break or maybe do an extra 1 or 2 reps.

Rachael I was looking at the Feb. rotation. It should be your second last day today?? It looked like 4DS HIS is on the schedule so a little lighter workout with more fun. I'm just hoping it was an easier day for you!

Good Friday...
We finished up the church early this morning and now have the rest of the weekend. Unfortunately it is supposed to rain and get chilly so bye bye 70 degree temps. At least for the weekend.
Yep Kim I have one more double dip Saturday and then I am all done with this rotaion. I really can not believe that I got through it for the most part. I really was not sure if I would when I wrote it in my calendar...but I guess it was one of those set in stone ( or ink;)) sort of things. This mornings workout was great. It was like night day from yesterday to today. I even added on the guts from B&G to make up for a little bit of the missed work from yesterday. So I am not fretting since the total 180 from yesterdays tiredness to today total energy rush just says to me I needed a light day. Thanks yall for keeping me up to speed though!

Kim-So what does the diagnoses of severe asthma mean for your ds? Are they changing any of his treatment or just monitoring him still?
I remember when we were little and the electricity would go out, we loved it. We would play red light green light with the flash light or simon says. Since your kids were without their normal entertainment, that is what I kind of equate it to. Of course we lived in the woods so there was no cable and of course no internet so we mainly had to entertain ourselves if we did not like what was on the 3 channels anyway. LOL

Jo-The official city limit population is about 3000. Of course there are a lot more people that live outside of the city limits. It's funny I think the population on the sign may have only grown about 500 my whole life so it is like the same 2500 have lived where they live all of my life:p. In the last ten yrs it has really grown though. We went from one red light to five:eek: Of course the fast food places have started moving in too. I grew up with only a Dairy Queen for a Saturday afternoon treat and I kind of miss that.
I hope you are cured of your head woes for the day. How wonderful to have an easy weekend and a clean house!@!!!!!!!

Cendrine-I second what Kim said. If you are not feeling too worked maybe just add some reps on of the last set. I am so glad you are not having issues with your back though.
Did you start planning your camping trip yet? I told DH about the casts of animal prints and he thought that was such a neat idea for the kids. He said...wild or what? I told him I guess what ever yall come up on that the kiddos seem interested in. LOL

Well I have a hair appt. this afternoon so I better go get ready.
Have a great Friday night!

Happy Friday night!

Quick note as it's time for bed! I was able to kick my migraine (YAY!) I came home after work and finished up tests for week 1 (Another YAY!). Looked at my new lululemon (MUCHO YAY YAY YAY!). I swear, nothing fits better than lululemon! Their clothes are like 2nd skin! This jacket I got fits like it was made for me! What more could you ask for? (Ohhh I guess more lululemon! LOL!)

Cendrine, definitely stay with the full 60! Don't get over excited about shortening those rests. It will help your body adapt regardless of the fact that you are still using lighter weights. Also, it will give your back the proper recovery as you know you're using your back more than you think! I know it seems like wasted time, but you haven't been consistent enough with your back and you never know what might give you a set back. BE CAREFUL!!! I'm glad you got rid of your headache too!!

Kim, well I guess you'll take that family time no matter how you have to get it! LOL! It really makes you realize how much everyone relies on their gadgets doesn't it? I'm still trying to finish reading When Giants Fall. It's slower going than normal because of all my school reading! I'll have to look but I've read a couple of Maeve Binchy - off the top of my head I believe one of them was called Circle of Friends. I have another one on my Kindle. It was good - she's a good writer! Yes, and like Rachel asked, what does this mean for DS? Is it a medication change or just confirming what you already knew?

Rachel, I was envisioning your town to be about 2000 so I guess I wasn't far off! 5 lights is a big deal! LOL! Don't you love it when you are just full of energy! See you just needed to back off a little yesterday. Super star workout girls are allowed to have a back off day! :D How has your eating been through this last month? Did you find you were a lot hungrier? How'd your hair appointment go? Love hair day!

DH took Ibo to the groomers today and he smells wonderful and you can tell he's pretty happy about it! LOL!

Okay, time for bed! Talk to you all in the morning!

Kim and Jo, thank you for your input on the rest, I'm going to be a good girl and listen!
I just finished my tm walk and weights and plates abs. This sounds odd, but even though I'm getting better at it, it doesn't get any easier...lol!

Jo, I love clean smelling dogs... and I'm glad the luluemon stuff fits so well, its funny, the things that make us happy!

I'm reading more books from ds' curriculum, lots of native indian stuff. This one is about an indian girl that got captured by an. Enemy tribe and escapes and finds her way back to her home, some 40 day yourney on foot in the wilderness. She makes herself some new moccassins in the story and I want to find out how hard it would be to make our own with the kids as we read this book...;)

Rachel, yes, you can tell dh that we will be happy to just take whatever tracks we will find. ;)

I also want to see if any of the parks we will pass on our tip have geocachin. Its an orienteering kind of hunt where you find boxes, someone starts it and leaves something in a box at the specific location on a map and when you find it, you take what's in it and put something of equal value in it intead. I know the kids would enjoy it, so hopefully i'll find something...

I can't believe it...I woke up with a headache again today! This is the 4th day in a row. So am going back to bed for a bit but just wanted to say hello!

Cendrine, I'm glad you're going to take it easy! I know you're right, good fitting lululemon, a hug from DH and a kiss from Ibo - that's what makes me happy! LOL! Oh, and a good spin, and a Cathe workout, and a great salad with lots of vegetables. No headaches, clean flannel sheets and my BFF fitness friends: Cendrine, Rachel and Kim! See while I'm typing this my headache is going away! I'm a pretty darn happy girl!

Kim, I looked and the other book I have by Maeve Binchy is Heart and Soul. I can't remember if I've read it or not.

Hi Rachel - Happy Saturday!

Okay, since the meds are really kicking in, I'm going to eat a banana and then may go do LIC. I'm in the mood for a circuit workout. Then we need to hit Costco and I need to start writing a paper.

Hi all! Well one of my best shopping GF's text me this morning to see if I was free and of course, I'm caught up...so we headed to the mall! (It was meant to be!) LOL! I just needed to get some earrings to replace a pair I lost (my everyday jeans earring :D) but it felt good to get out and do something besides homework! She is a healthy girl like us and works out all the time. We like to eat the same and like a lot of the same things in general so we always have a good time together. She also has a 5 year old male german shepherd that they adopted last year. Anyway, fun day and now I'm home and getting reading to start writing my paper. Oh, so consequently I told DH to go to Costco without me.

Can you believe it GF had never been to lululemon - so I took her there to initiate her! LOL! :p She didn't buy anything today, but is planning on it...

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Rachael Are you done the Feb rotation!!!!??? How did the hair appointment go? I need to get in to get my roots covered up soon. The appointment won't change ds's treatment, they really just wanted to run these tests to get a baseline of his lung function (volume, capacity, etc) but they can't do them unless his asthma is under control. The MD has been wanting them done for years. I guess the doctors might use them over ds's lifetime to document longterm changes. DS is doing so well right now, that I don't think the respiratory therapist doing the test really thought that his asthma was going to be that bad. But they stimulate the lungs in different ways (drugs, exercise) and the first dose of drugs got him so short of breath that the therapist said he wasn't continuing or ds could end up in trouble. They they had to give him a whole of ventolin (medicine) to get him under control again. We ended up being there only 1 hour instead of 3 because they didn't want to do complete the tests on him.

Jo I'm reading Maeve Binchy's Scarlet Feather right now. I haven't read either of the ones you mentioned but I think I've read 3 others one is Minding Frankie, the one about Greece/night school and the one about a cardiac clinic. It's so neat how all the characters are interwoven throughout all her books.
Sounds like you and your gf had fun shopping! I'm going to a jewellery party tomorrow at a co-worker's house so hope to pick up a necklace for work as my favourite one recently broke.

Cendrine I did plates/weight abs on Thursday and yesterday/today my abs have been so sore!!! and I couldn't even do half the exercises! You must have great core strength by now which will sure help your back. I've heard of geocaching, sounds like fun. It seems like it was really big a few years back, are there still lots of people doing it?

Yesterday I got KPC done and ds did it with me! This morning I did GS BSB and no equipment ab circuits. My chest and abs are still sore from Thursdays workout!
DH, ds and I went out for dinner as dd was at a birthday party and we had a coupon. It was good but so expensive even with no dd and a coupon! Also super long wait for a table, good reminders of why we eat at home most of the time.

I've been busy organzing a jury reunion at my house. It won't be till the end of the month. I've heard from 2 people and both have told me that they have had trouble with the emotional recovery over the last couple of weeks and they both would really enjoy getting today to talk. So I know it's not just me! One of them is a young girl who isn't someone I would expect to express his emotions like that. It's good to talk with people who experienced the same thing. We're going to have spouses come over as well. I'm looking forward to it and because I'm organzing it I'm getting a chance to talk with each person.
