(<:--->6 month STS alumni<---:>) Happy Easter!

Hey guys!

More good luck today...when we got to the job to unload, there was a truck there delivering ceiling tile with a fork lift. The forklift driver offered to get the pallets off the truck for us and then we got to use a pallet jack to get all the carpet in. It all took about 30 minutes as apposed to the hr and a half it probably would have taken. So wooohooo.
Then of course we had to get the tires rotated on the way home and they told us it was time for new ones...after only 30000 miles on those...ugghhh, then the guy tried to tell me there was no mileage warranty. Well I am getting better for standing up for myself so I was not going to let him tell me that I bought tires that cost 1200 dollars withe no mileage warranty (it's a dually). So he finally had to relent and give us a pro rate or else he knew I was going to go all MMA Fusion on his A##! lol
We still had to get new tires but we got money on the other ones and got michelin's this time! We know we have had those and they lasted!

So that is my day. I hope yalls is well. I have been hungry here lately so I am trying to stay occupied so I don't go have 3 cups of Cendrine's granola...which I am still loving!

Cendrine-I am a homebody too. Don't get me wrong , I always enjoy our trips after we are on the way but I hate the planning because I do not feel like I know enough about traveling. I am no seasoned traveler, that is for sure!

Jo-I have my last plyo tomorrow and I hope that knowledge alone energizes me. I am ready for my rest week and lots of stretching!
I have never seen one of those dryers in this area. It does sound super cool!

Kim-I know your busy getting back in to the work swing of things...hope all is well!

Busy day here, with work, errands, Athletic Step and now TBL:D Had to stay at work late as my 2:45 apptointment showed up at 3:45. I get off work at 3:45. He's a nice guy so I stayed late to treat him but it's really annoying how many people show up at the wrong times/days for their appointments. It's really busy after the long weekend/holidays so I guess I have to work everyday this week. My manager was teasing me that with all the extra days I've been working that our new house will be paid off soon:rolleyes:

Rachael, wow you've had some great luck lately ! Maybe you need to buy a lottery ticket! The flooring sounds beautiful but lots of work! It's great that the two of you are so handy to be able to do jobs like that for yourselves. You probably save so much money!

Cendrine I figured that if I planned the camping trips we would be sure to get out and use the camper. I do enjoy travelling and would do more if I could.

Jo When I was looking at vacuums this week, I was comparing Kenmore with other brands. I thought Kenmore was only Canadian. So you can buy a Kenmore dryer in the USA? Your dryer is only 18 months old and you're already having problems! That's not good.

Hey Gals...Just a quick in out to say Happy Hump Day...Affectionately known around here as last lunch eve. If everything goes smooth today we should get about 325 yds of carpet laid! Hoping all goes smooth!:D

It was the last plyo today and boy those air jacks at the end do me in but other than that it was a great workout!

Hi All,

not much to report here today. It's warm!

I did high step challenge with modifications and it went well.

I hope you are all doing well!

I went to the annual general meeting at the school daycare this evening. (dd goes before/after school, during the summer). I have been the volunteer treasurer for the last 6 years but I'm not returning next year if we are moving. The chair of the board did a really nice farewell speech, and gave me a gift. Almost made me cry!

Came home and did plyo. DS did all 4 weeks with me, he's getting into track season at school so he thought it would help. Always nice to have company. What happened to DH's workout plan, Patricia??

Saw the ophthalmalogist regarding the growth on my eye. Probably won't get it removed unless it gets worse, I can go ahead and have the laser surgery without removing it but it's going to be more painful and longer recovery. So will think about the options.

I guess everyone is busy, busy!

Off to read Harry Potter with dd!

Hi Everyone! Very busy day and I haven't had time to post. I did 30/30 today and am looking forward to Shoulders, triceps and biceps tomorrow. GF just left to go back to MT (boohoo!) so back to normal routine tomorrow!

I should have more time to post tomorrow so will get caught up with you then.

Good Morning!

Well today did not go quite as planned. First while I was waking up, I was already talking myself out of my workout. I think my body is just telling me that it is ready for rest week. Last night , i already knew that I was going to switch Saturdays cardio with today which would have been CCC and I knew I would have better luck with doing kickboxing today instead. I finally talked myself off the couch and into the workout room but only got the warm up done when I decided this was a futile attempt at this workout and I did not want to sully it with this bad memory.lol So I ended up doing some of the extended stretch. I could not even put effort into that. I don't know what the deal is but I am hoping for a good final STS bi's tri's and shoulders tomorrow and then maybe after extra sleep on Saturday ending with CCC. I really wanted to finish with all the workouts done but I just did not have it in me today at all. :(

Jo-At least you got to spend a week with your gf going to the gym and now you have your other room mate that joined too so now you should have plenty of workout partners!

Kim-I am keeping my fingers crossed that the growth does not get worse! I hope the pros out way the cons on the recovery and final out come that way you can go ahead with the surgery.

Cendrine-I am not sure if I have hi step challenge. It seems like you are moving pretty good on your work outs. WooHoo!!!
Oh yea, I finally got my C.E. mag the other day and just got to glance throu it yesterday. It looks like it has some great recipes!

I better go get ready for work. TTYL

Have a great day!

Rachel

Hi Everyone! Today was disc 30 shoulders, biceps and triceps! It felt so good!!! Tonight is spinning and yoga with the girls at the gym!

Rachel, glad you were ready to kung fu the tire guy! LOL! I have Michelins on my 4Runner and agree they're the best! Remember Meso 3 is a killer so I'm not surprised your body is wanting a little extra rest! I think you did the right thing by backing off and doing a stretch! Besides, with the work you and DH do, you are a MACHINE! Glad you're listening to your body!

Kim, oooh, that's so nice what they did for you at the school! So what do they think the growth is on your eye? Or do they know why it's there? Does it bother you? How'd you like TBL Tuesday night? I was so glad to say buh bye to Melissa! I love how everyone this season is more concerned about being healthy!

Cendrine, you are moving well through those circuits! Are you feeling okay today?

I decided I'm going to go the distance with STS and then I think I'll go see my mom during recovery week. After that I dunno yet! Okay, back to work! CBL!

Hi Girls,

today is a walk for me. Yesterday the chiro adjustement was better than before. Usually I'm about half an inch off, but it was just a quarter inch! Yeah!
I hope it keeps going that way! I have a sore butt from high step challenge! I always feel that one and I still feel it even though I modified....LOL!
Rachel, I'm glad you listened to your body. I am really trying to do more of that myself too instead of just sticking with some schedule. Schedules are good and help keep me accountable but they are not always in tune with what else is going on.

Jo, sorry your fried left. But it's also nice to fall back into a routine, right? I'm such a routine person, too many visits tend to throw me off...

Kim, I'm so glad you got properly appreciated and thanked for your work as treasurer! I think that is so important! It's so fun that ds is doing plyo with you and I am sure it helps him with his other activities! How can it not!

I'm going to try to do a SB circuit tomorrow, not sure which one and how much I have to modify, but that's whats on the schedule for tomorrow.

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING!!!!!:D:D:D:p:p:p:eek::eek::eek:

There is nothing like a great workout to reaffirm that you are not a wuss! I have to admit that I was a little down yesterday after not being able to get my workout in. I started thinking that maybe I do not have what it takes...You know how you can start beating your self up sometimes. I am definitely my own worst enemy! Well the tables turned today and I wooped the last workout of STS! I do not think I could have done any better! I don't know if I have adrenaline pumping from knowing it was the last workout or all your encouraging words but I knocked it out of the park. Woo hoo! Now if I can just do the same with CCC tomorrow I will feel 100% again!

I thank you all for always helping me to see what is clearly in front of me...lol

We are still kicking butt at work. Wednesday was a tough one. I think the first day that you really push it is always the hardest and then your body remembers that and then just mimics it the rest of the time!

Cendrine-Congratulations on the 1/4 inch!!! It is funny how exciting that is , huh! That means you are on your way and you have been exercising too so you know that you are not doing damage right now...That is GREAT!
I can't wait to do some of my other DVD's again. I am going to have to see what is coming in the March rotation.

Jo-After being so wiped out yesterday, I am even more impressed with all the extra exercise you are putting in. Not that I wasn't amazed before! I am telling you honestly. Every time I think I might stop on one of my cardios...I just think "Jo wouldn't"! and then it gets me to the end! Thanks bunches!!!!!!:D

Kim-I hope you have a great day with great spring like weather! How is the planning of the house going???

Better go get DH up or I will have to go to work all by myself!;)

Have a great DAY!

Rachel

Week 2 DONE - I'm halfway!!! Yahoo!! Rachel, our stars must be lined up together on Friday energy!!!! I am flattered that I help pull you through! That made my day and glad I could help!;) You sound jubilent and motivated today!! Racheline the fighting machine!!!! :p

Cendrine, You are making GREAT progress! Circuits must be treating you right! I am happy to get back to my routine but when this GF is here, it's different than when you have regular company. She's also here to see her DH so I never feel like I have to be entertaining; plus since they used to live her she goes off to see other friends. But, yes, my routine does get affected some.

Kim, hope today is a good start to your weekend! Whatcha going to do for recovery next week?

I wanted to tell you guys about spinning last night. IT WAS AWESOME!!! I had such a great spin - it was one of those where I worked my hardest, my energy was there, I was in the zone, and I couldn't quit thinking about what a great workout it was up until I went to bed. It was that kind of cardio high that makes you feel invincible! The guy that teaches this class is not a macho guy or even very athletic looking...he doesn't ever really look like a cyclist, but he is the most motivating and inspiring instructor. I told him after class how much he inspires me to work hard. I woke up thinking about it too! Okay, enough about that but I would have loved to share the experience with all of you! It is very very hard but very very fun!!! Then in Yoga, I struggle with the upward, downward dogs and cobras (don't quite have the flow) but when she gets to the leg work I'm like a pretzel and it feels great after spinning!

TTYL! Happy Friday!

I'm a little embarrassed to post today after hearing how great you all did for your workouts! I turned off my alarm and went back to sleep...
I had a friend come over yesterday after an already busy day, I love her but she wears me out and she stayed until late, which meant I didn't have time to soak and I just felt tired and wiped out. My back did not feel good waking up and I just gave in rather than push, and I hate not to have worked out. I need to be better about my boundaries so it works for me.

But school went well today and the kids responded well, I even had time to do some lesson planning for the new school year and it makes me look forward to starting up again this fall. DD is loving 'school' so much that she just wants to keep going, so we may be doing school with her in one form or another all summer....LOL! It's funny, ever since she was little she has seen me work with ds and so this just seem to be what you do... She's fun to work with. But ds knows what summer break means and he is looking forward to it as am I ! LOL!

Happy Friday is here!

Man I am ready for this day. It is the beginning of rest week, almost, and I just am so ready for that! We kicked some serious booty at work today so it is going to be a really relaxing weekend knowing that we have left nothing undone at work. I am still siking myself up for CCC tomorrow but I think with a little bit of sleeping in, I should have the extra push to get through it. Also knowing that it is going to be the official end of STS strenght and cardio rotation won't hurt either!

Cendrine-I am sorry we made you fell bad. If it is any consolation at all , I am bad about setting boundaries too. I really do not get together with friends that often and when I do I tend to let them run the show even if I am dying to go to sleep! I love em but I have a routine I am in and it is hard to get out of. SO when they stay late, I am the one that is screwed up in the morning.
I think it is great the your dd is super into school right now. It might make it a little more challenging for you but I bet it is exciting to see how fast they absorb things!

Jo-You can go on as long as you want about your classes. I love hearing about it. Dh is really not into hearing about my workouts because I am sure it sounds like I am telling him the same thing all the time so I love to chat it up on here about them! I love that cardio high! I have not had it in a while but am hoping I can get it back after recovery week. I am looking forward to doing some our old favorites. I guess I need to see what is in store for me with the March rotation. I have just really concentrated on what she put in for weights.

Kim-Hey hey hey !!!! You must be busy! ;):D

I am off to find something to eat!

have a great night!

TTYT
Rachel

Oh Cendrine, don't feel bad!!! Your body needs to get completely healed and then you'll be right back at it! And I think you needed more rest! The funny thing when you have an issue like yours, you know you're limited but you still feel good and your body needs the rest to recoup! Oh boy, don't you hate that when you're so ready for someone to leave and they're NOT! LOL! I usually say something like, do you want something to eat before you go? (I know terrible huh?) :p Then they'll say, yeah, I should probably get going... Actually I don't have that many people that just come to see me as I'm usually meeting someone somewhere. That's so cute about DD - it's so wonderful that you are able to work with them! And isn't it fun when they're so interested?

Rachel, congrats congrats congrats on ending this rotation!! Give CCC your all then pop it out and say "buh bye!" LOL! Sounds like you and DH are really dialed in to this job! Well do your workout, take a deep breath and ENJOY the weekend!! So are you planning on doing lots of cardio this next week or mixing in some Power Hour or what? Though I am going to go see my mom during recovery week, I think the days I am home I'll do some long cardio like: the 90 minute cardio on SB/SJP, Imax Extreme and maybe Step Fit. But, we'll see how I feel...I'll still need to get my spinning in!

I'm off to get in bed and read...DH just fell asleep on the couch watching Shrek 2. :D Roommate left tonight to go home until Tuesday so DH and I are going on a date tomorrow night! ;) I'm getting us reservations at our favorite restaurant in Seattle. It's on one of the marinas that's kind of nestled into a hillside on the water. Every table has a view of the water, the city (space needle, etc.) and then you see the ferries coming in and out. The sun is supposed to be out tomorrow so you also get a view of the mountains behind the city. We need a night out!

TTY all tomorrow!

Good Morning!

Just getting my alumni dose before I go do me some CCC! I swear Jo, you always know exactly what to say to me! How do you do that. Now I know I can get in there and get it done!
The restaurant sounds wonderful! I picture places like that and wonder if they exist and I guess they do..lol!
As far as recovery week goes, I am not sure yet. I know I will probably be taking it easy. I am not sure what has kicked my butt these last couple of weeks but something sure has given me the what for! lol I am going to play it by ear. Probably for sure, no weights though. I will be gearing up for the March rotation and I think that is alot of gym style work in it so I want to be ready to give it all I got! If I had to start tomorrow, that would not be too much..haha!

I better go and get this show on the road! Like my Dad says...Get it while the Gettin's Good!

TTYL

Rachel

Hi!

thanks for all you guy's encouragement for me, you are so nice and I didn't mean to indicate that you made me feel bad, I do that all by myself...
Well, I'm going to try to make up for yesterday's missed workout today. I don't have much else going on so I figured even though I would love to just sit and read all day, I could probably work in a workout.
Jo, that's a great phrase, asking them if they want something to eat before they go. I'll have to remember that. I usually use my kids, saying to them that it's time for them to tell so and so good bye... But the kids were already in bed! LOL ! So I couldn't use that one!

Tomorrow we are going to go Strawberry picking on a local organic strawberry farm. We do this every year and the kids just love it. It's a lot of fun.

Oh, I forgot to tell you, dh and ds have finally started a father and son martial arts class together. Dh has said since last august that he would do it with ds and it took him til now to get going on it! They had their first class Tuesday night and they both liked it. They re going again today. i'm so happy they are both getthing to do this together.

Congrats finishing STS again, Rachel! Other than tired, how do you feel? I know you said you were able to go higher on biceps, how about the rest of you?

Jo, that restaurant sounds really nice! Have you ever been on the Space needle restaurant? Before dh and I got married, dh's half brother, who is a chef, worked up in that restaurant, and I always wished we could have gone there before he left.... i'm sure we would have gotten a special deal or something....;)

Finally, a few minutes to catch up with everyone. Today my baby became a teenager!! He's 13 today:D:D I can't believe where the time has gone. He was born the week between "The Blizzard of the Century" and the "Flood of the Century". (1997) It was quite the week.

Anyways keeping busy with family get togethers, friends's get togethers, cousins sleepovers, birthday lunches etc, baking cakes, and cleaning houses. It will be a weekend celebration:cool: Next we're off to piano lessons with dd. DH and I also had 3 things on our home maintence list to do this weekend, got 2 done so far; fixing ds's dresser, and delivering a playhouse to a coworker for her kids (dd has outgrown).

Rachael, like you I hit Thursday and went CCC:confused: no way! My body just wasn't up to it, I ended up taking Thurs and Friday off:confused: Sorry! I did do CCC today and will do the last weight workout on Sunday. The planning of the house seems slow to me! I want to see some digging started! But the house plans, permits, etc seem to be taking forever! They say very soon! We might be able to choose our options (shingles, exterior, paint colours, countertops, etc) in the next week or two.

Jo The growth on the eye, is just like a fibrous band, it's called a pterygum. It doesn't need to be removed unless it continues to grow over the cornea which it might never do. It's mostly likely from too much sun exposure! I spent my high school/university summers working outdoors as a lifeguard. As well as always just being a outdoor type person. SO always wear good sunglasses. Funny I remember my mom telling me to do that. ;) I can still get the laser surgery done just more complicated/painful.

I was glad to see Melissa go as well! Not many game players this time around, such nice people on this season! That's great that you can time your visit to your mom's along with recovery week.

I'm also impressed with all your exercising! The spin class sound like so much fun. Although I love my home gym, I do occasionally wonder if I"m missing out on some good options. Enjoy your date night!

Cendrine That's great that you're seeing improvements with the chiro! I know my patients often want to know their "numbers", it's good reinforcement that although improvement is slow that it is there! That's great that dd is so excited about learning! how old is she? Does your ds ever ask about going to regular school? That's so great that DH and ds are getting some excerise and having fun together! We're finished all the strawberries from the freezer from last year's picking so I'm looking forward to going again. The strawberries won't be out till about mid June though. I bough some at the grocery store last week and they were terrible!

Kim, you want to hear my theory on why the strawberries taste terrible? I think it's because they have genetically messed with them. You know how quickly strawberries go bad, they made it so that strawberries keep their shape and firmness longer and have sacrificed flavor in the process. You get these beautifully red looking strawberries and they just taste like water! Same with tomatoes, by the way! I remember what real strawberries are supposed to taste like from growing up, we always had several rows in our home garden and they tasted so sweet! So this is why I make sure my strawberries are organic, since they can't mess with them and still call them organic... The best time to pick is after a few sunny warm days.

Congrats on your baby turning 13! What a milestone! How fun that you are celebrating all weekend!

I'm impressed with you for finishing STS even though you were tired, all three of you are troopers and you all did it!

DD is still 3, will turn 4 in mid July. She is going to get to come to ds' boyscout day camp, since I'm volunteering and she gets to go to her own siblings camp class...LOL! Makes her feel special! She also just got invited to her very first proper girl birthday party and is just so excited, since usually it's always ds who gets invited....

Ds has not asked to go back to public school. He gets to hang out for special things, happenings and sees his old classmates at the tiger cub meetings and has regular playdates with his old classmates as well. He knows full well that if he went to public school there would be homework after school and school would go into the afternoons, which until now, because he has been focused, he has not had, he has always finished all his work before afternoon except for P.E. I am guessing I'm keeping his social life interesting enough for him so he doesn't wish he had more of it. It will be fun though, when he and his friends will be old enough to hang out in the neighborhood without us parents.

I got my workout done! I did the sb circuit and was able to do it with modifications and still get a good workout in.

Good Evening Ladies!

I got CCC in and I did great!. It is not too often that I feel that way but I think Jo's little pep talk sent me above and beyond my potential! Thanks Jo;)
We kind of slacked off a little today. We did work on the mudroom but we were not frantic or anything. Dh wake with a sore throat and I thought he was getting sick but it turns up that it is a canker sore on the back of his throat. He has always been prone to getting them but normally they are on his gums if they get a cut. This is the first time for it to be in this particular place and it seems to be really painful for him:confused:. I try to research them and we try everything we can find but there is really no cure but time. Poor thing!

Cendrine-I did not think that I was making you down...I just felt bad that you were down! I completely can relate with you on so many levels.
The father and son class sounds great. Now you can have some good mother daughter time with dd while they are gone!.
We do not have strawberries around here but we used to go visit my dh's grandmother all the time in Stillwell OK and they had a strawberry festival in May! We always went at that time. I miss that.
As far as how I feel with finishing STS...I do feel more defined for sure. I think I really get a lot out of STS but I have not had a real problem with the weights , it has always been stamina with cardio. I know that has improved with all the Hiit and Plyo! I just hope I can keep this up. I like the gain!

Kim-We are lucky that where we live we do not have to have permits. We are in the middle of the woods in a really rural area. I could not imagine the frustration of having to wait for all that! I would probably pull my hair out!
I think planning the finishes is the most exciting part. I always tell the GC's (general contractors) at work that no one cares about seeing the studs...They want to see the paint colors and the carpet...:DThat always ticks them off. lol
There was no way I could do CCC after that plyo workout! I just had hit the wall I guess. But after taking Thursday off, I had a great workout on Friday and today! So I know it was the right thing!
Are you starting the March rotation next?

Jo-Woooo...you must be having a date DAY! Fill us in on the menu! I know you will post soon! ;)

I am off to relax. I can't believe Saturday is over!

TTYT

Rachel

Cendrine, like Rachel, I didn't take it that we were making you feel bad; I know you're wanting to do more and it's frustrating! It was really frustrating me a couple weeks ago when I was sick and couldn't do my workout - I was like UGGGHHHH!!!! I love that DH and DS are doing martial arts!!! How fun for them to do that together! Yes, been to the space needle several times. We actually had our wedding night dinner there (just the two of us) and had a secluded table with a curtain. Anyway, it's pricey and you're really paying for the view. I mean the food is good but not for the price you pay! The top of the needle revolves 360 degrees an hour. The view is magnificent (especially if the sun is out!). Oh and I agree with you about the strawberries!

Kim, I know I've said this before, but you are a busy busy woman! Scheesch I'm worn out reading all your activities! HB to DS! Wow 13! Where's his voice at? MY SS voice dropped when he was 14. It was during the summer. His voice had been cracking on occasion in the months prior, but he went to see DH mother (his grandma) and went a week ahead of us. His voice dropped during the week so we put him on a plane with a little boy voice and when we got there he suddenly had a deep man voice! LOL! I hope your eye doesn't change any more than it has (maybe reverse?).

Rachel, I'm happy to be your coach any time! LOL! I knew you'd finish off with a bang! I hope DH isn't too uncomfortable! I've never heard of getting a canker sore there...I guess no reason not to but it sounds painful. How rural are you? Like how far from town and how big is the nearest town?

Okay, I'm not done yet so going to post this post and write some more...
