Good Morning All!

Just getting us started! Well it's Sunday; I'm sitting here drinking my coffee and trying to figure out what workout to go do! No, I did not figure out a rotation yesterday! The weather was too nice and after doing laundry and a little cleaning I ended up out on the deck reading! Then later we made mahi mahi salads and watched a movie.

So...I'm thinking maybe Power Hour today...another oldie I haven't done in AGES! I'll get back with you all later and let you know what I did!

Happy Sunday!

I did Power Hour! Oh my goodness! I don't remember the last time I did this one but it got me good! I'll probably hurt everywhere tomorrow! Talk about low low weights and high high reps!

I'm off to the shower!

Oh, Jo, you're making me want to do a rotation of older Cathe's!:D I started week 7 of CLX today. CLX has 2 ab workouts, one is used for the first 6 weeks and then the 2nd is used for the last 6 weeks. So I did Ab Extreme for the first time today, I really liked this workout. I could actually see doing this one after I finished CLX. It's 16 mins, very intense with lots of variety, a very good ab routine.

I started reading the book "The End of Overeating" by David Kessler. I wondered if it was okay if a put a little tidbit from each chapter as I read. I just don't want this to be another $30 book that I bought, skimmed, thought hmm, that's interesting and then never use the info.

I've always been an intense exerciser but slightly overweight. My diet isn't bad but I can't stay away from treats which is the whole focus of this book. Why we can't eat well even when we want too. Why do we eat things that aren't good for us. So is it okay if I put in something I learn from each chapter, it might be a good discussion point?

Chapter One: "For thousands of years human body weight stayed remarkably stable. Throughout adulthood we basically consumed no more than the food we needed to burn. People who were overweight stood apart from the general population. Millions of calories passed through our bodies, yet with rare exceptions our weight neither rose nor fell by any significant amount. A perfect biological system seemed to be at work.
Then, in the 1980s, something changed."

"What had happened in such a short time to add so many millions of pounds to so many millions of people? Many years of research led me to an unexpected answer."
"It is not a want born of fear that food shortages lie ahead."
"Nor is it a want rooted in hunger or the love of exceptional food."
There is an almost overpowering push to eat with a loss of control . We have not understood why eating certain foods only makes us want to eat more of them.

That's a summary of the first chapter. Okay, off to the football game with ds.

We're Back!
I remember in my younger days if we went on vacation I would be so ready to come home to all my stuff and the comforts of home but I have noticed the older I get the more I want to stay. Don't get me wrong I love my house and my 2 sweety pie dogs and not so needy sweety pie cat, but I guess knowing that when you get home everything goes back to normal and the fantasy of just living day to day like a vacation ends...Back to reality, right?:D

Well we had the greatest time. Maybe not the greatest weather yesterday but every other day was like a dream. There was a hint of fall in the air which is exactly what you want when you are going to ride four wheelers. The cabin we stayed at was on ten acres and I went exploring and found some nice steep climbing to do. I was a little nervous at first but I just told myself, no need to hurry, and worked my way up. The first night we got there, the sweetest dog showed up and you know I could not help but give him a treat and he ended up hanging around off and on the whole time so he and I became good hiking buddies. I made a deal with him that if he would alert me to any bears or other dangerous critters that I would make him a peanut butter sandwich:D We both held up our end of the bargain...There were no dangers and there were lots of peanut butter sandwiches:p

Jo-You know , I never did a Cathe rotation until a couple of months ago and now I feel like I can not go without them. I think I am going to start the September rotation a week from tomorrow. I have to order the Gym style series and PUB and PLB. I have wanted them anyway and so this gives me an excuse to get them. I do not want to start sts again until shock cardio comes out. I am not sure yet though if we are going to be working out of town for a couple of weeks so I might have to join a gym and go it on my own while we are gone. I am not looking forward to that!

Kim- I would love it if you shared the things you are learning from the book you are reading. I am always interested in learning more about our health and fitness.
It looks like you have the next several weeks mapped out for you. When are you going to be in disney? I do not know too much about it so what will you do for 2 weeks there?

Cendrine- It sounds like you are really enjoying your workouts. Are you doing any particular rotation or just closing your eyes and grabbing one?

I am off to try to use up my leftover produce in a soup???? It will have to be some sort of beany south westerny thing because I have a lot of peppers and not protein in the house except for canned beans:rolleyes: I guess if I was not too lazy I would go to the grocery store but that is not going to happen:p

Hope yall had a great weekend.

Rachel

Hi Guys,

today was rest day and we all went to Disneyland for the day. We decided to just splurge and brought none of our own food. I shared a cream cheese filled pretzel with my family (saw it last time and decided to earmark that for my treat...LOL

It was nice to not have the summer crowd there any more! We had a great day but are exhausted and ready for an early night now...

Kim, that book you bought sounds like a book I read about in Nutrition Action. I would love to hear more details about it as you read and learn, so please keep posting info!
I'm sorry about your pf! What a drag! I hope you get better soon!

Jo, I did Power hour a week ago and yes, so light but so much! LOL!
By the way, I did have doms from leaner legs, but not as bad as from doing meso 1 legs... That's ok with me, I don't mind a little less pain...

Rachel, I'm glad you had a nice time and that the nice doggie kept you safe...! I really want the pu and pl as well! I feel a bit silly buying them now, so will wait until someone wants to buy me something....

I'm on the fence as to what to do for workouts next week. I think it might be good to do cross train express for a second round to get really accustomed to it, but at the same time I also want to try out the rest of the dvds I got. Any thoughts, anyone?

Went to the football game with ds and our hometown team, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, lost 55 to 10 to our biggest rivals:rolleyes::rolleyes: A young woman flashed our section but thank goodness ds was looking the other way watching the game. The police took her away.

Rachael Glad to see you back safe and sound. Sounds like you had a good time. Who did the doggie belong to?? We're actually going to Disneyworld (FLorida) for 1 and half weeks. There are 4 amusement parks so we're spending two days in each and we have a nice sit down meal booked for each night as we got a free dining package. The other day we are doing a waterpark and the boys are going to a NHL game in Tampa while the girls go shopping at Downtown Disney. We're not planning on doing SeaWorld or Universal this time as we're done them recently.

Sorry Cendrine, I'm sure you said before, but what new dvds besides CTX did you get?
Kim

Hi Rachel! Glad you had a fun weekend! And, it is true about being older and going places...I don't want to come home either! When we're in MT I just want to stay and play and play! LOL! Isn't it great to get out and rough it a little? How nice to have made a little 4 legged friend! A nice memory addition to your weekend! So does work slow down for you now that you're going into fall? Of course you continue to have pretty good weather for while don't you? As for shopping....getting the Gym Styles and PUB/PLB will be a nice addition to your collection especially the Pyramids. Since PUB incorporates the entire upper body, that is one DVD I've used in a lot of rotations. It has a couple or premixes on it for pyramid up or pyramid down so you can vary your workout. I used to reach for it alot. When the Gym Styles came out I think I did a 6 week rotation with them and really liked them. Ahhh geee...I like everything Cathe has ever made!

Kim, doesn't an Cathe "older" workouts rotation sound like fun? Maybe I should put something together! :p But, after searching through all the rotations today I think I decided to go ahead and do the September rotation and incorporate older cardio into it...and then I saw Rachel is thinking about that too so that may be a good idea! Glad you're getting all the way through CLX - so you can help me decide for sure whether I want to do it or NOT! :D Sounds like you had a fun day today too. I went to Barnes & Noble today to look at your book but they were out. Supposed to have more in on Tuesday. Thanks for posting the information about it. I emailed that to my friend.

Cendrine, good day for Disney huh? Lucky for the kids you live so close! We have some friends that live in San Clemente and I know when their kids were little they bought yearly passes. I am sorry I missed your earlier posts about your bundle, but yes, as Kim asked, can you tell us what all you got? I want to ooh and awe over it! Or tell us which bundle and I'll go look on the Cathe Shopping page.

And, Cendrine, it looks like I'm coming down the weekend of Oct 23 or 24the whichever day that is to see my GF in Newport Beach. So if we could meet for coffee or lunch or whatever, I would love to meet you if you could work it out. We can come to wherever is convenient for you.
