6 month alumni weekly check in 10/25

Hi Girls,

I am fried today, so this will be short. A dear friend of mine is in her second trimester with her third and just turned 40 this year and is not feeling very energetic these days, so I decided to take her girls for the day. It takes about 45 min to get there and back so I did that twice today, and besides having four kids in the house all day I also fixed dinner to take back for my friend. It was a great day and I loved doing it for her, but now I'm simply fried! I will try to sleep in tomorrow....

Jo, whole foods is probably the best place to look for Grapefruitseed extract other than ordering it online, I hope they carry it, let me know!

Kim, I envy you and your christmas shopping being all done, pretty much! I better get going here, I hate last minute stuff!

Rachel, I have MIC and MIS too, part of my big bundle I got for my birthday. MIC seems to never end! It is tough as the name might suggest.... You could sub it with what Kim and Jo suggested, which would work great unless you are like me: I just like to be correct and do it right to the t....LOL!

Hello! I'm already better! I swear by the Zicam! About 3:00 today I suddenly started feeling better! So maybe I can workout tomorrow!

Kim, yeah for new shoes! Nothing is better than new shoes (and new handbags, and new fitness clothes and new....uhh ) Hope Insanity goes better for you! That's funny about Wizard of Oz! It was such a big deal for us! We're doing nothing for Halloween. We only get about 4 trick or treaters as we live at the top of a very big hill...and very steep driveway...it's very dark up here (you get the picture). Last year we had the most ever which was 8. But who knows, since it's Saturday we might have more. There's 2 little girls next door and 2 little boys across the street so we always have something for them. But there's only 4 houses up here.

Cendrine, you are such a good friend! How nice of you to help your friend out today! Now go relax, get a good night sleep and then have a great workout tomorrow! I'll be hitting Whole Foods tomorrow.

Kim and Cendrine, you need to post kid Halloween pictures for Rachel and me!

Rachel, the premix I was thinking of for MIC is the Step & Hi/lo Premix on SB/SJP (as I mentioned earlier). It's 90 minutes long, but stop at the Step Challenge (unless you want to go on) and it will clock in right at 70 minutes - the same as MIC.

Oh and Kim, sorry DH and Dd got turned away on the vaccine. I have decided I want to get it but I'm sure we're another month out if us low riskers can get it at all. And yes that little red headed girl was a doll!

Okay, providing sleep returns tonight (and I'm sure it will!) I will be spinning tomorrow.

Kim, I forgot to respond about Stephanie Plum. Yes, I haven't picked one up in a while but I believe I had read through #9 or #11 (I forget!). In fact when I was in CA last weekend my GF was reading #7 having just started on them after I gave her #1 a few months ago. It made me think I need to get caught up. It is such a fun series.

Good morning ladies!!!!
I feel super this morning. I started waking up at a bout 4:30...since I have been getting up at 4 all week...but did not crawl out of be until 6:44:eek:! That puts me a little behind this morning for everything I want to get done but I decided not to sweat it and am just gonna let the cards fall where they may! It is not like I don't have all day right! And tomorrow too! I am so glad to be on a job that was not already behind when we got there. It is a nice change of pace to be working somewhere a little layed back. For now anyway. So I am going to enjoy it while it lasts.

I had a great workout this morning. Muscle Max was on the calendar for this morning and so I rocked it out! :D It was tough. I am telling you no matter how many times I do a work out of Cathe's, she always impresses me. Every time...like today with the front raises right into the pullbacks with a 20 # bb, I just could not even do that. I had to go down to about 16#'s and I was still struggling at the end. I am in total awww all the time.

Kim and Cendrine- What are the kiddos going to be for Halloween? If you can you have to post some pics. I agree with Jo on that one!!!

Kim-No we really do not get trick or treaters but this year, my nephew-the one I have talked about, is going to come by for some treats and that is just about it. My MIL is bringing him. Here is where it gets complicated:rolleyes: Maybe I will have time to go into length about that tomorrow!
Congrats on the new shoes....I want some new work out pants for winter. Nothing too heavy just something cute and new! The vaccine thing is kind of scary to me. Not the getting of the vaccine, because I think I am not in the right age bracket for it, but the waiting on it and the whole scare for people. It seems like just having that big of a group of people together waiting is a good way to spread a virus...I know a little OCD:rolleyes:

Jo-You do have a great memory...How do you do that? I can not even remember if I took my vitamin sometimes before I left the kitchen with my breakfast...Some of us got it and some of us don't:D
Thanks for the research on the substitutions, I knew I could count on you, Kim and Cendrine to point me in the right direction. I think no matter when STS shock cardio comes in, I know what I am getting for X-mas. I am going to tell everyone, all I want is fitness stuff. Esp. Cathe dvds. I like to either get cooking stuff or something for the gym...Anything I can keep on using and just does not set in my closet collecting dust!
So are you the spooky dark house on the hill? Or more than likely just the house way up on the hard hill to get up!!!

Cendrine-Oh my goodness, you did have a tough day yesterday! I think I would have to take work over 4 kids! I think I would not only be physically exhausted but mentally too! I do better when the kids are a little older. I just have a hard time entertaining the younger ones...I guess I am not tapping into my inner child very well...I have to leave that up to DH. He has an inner and outer child that he is very in touch with:p I can't imagine having a new one at 40, but that happens all the time now!
I am just like you when it comes to subbing in a rotation! That is why it is so hard for me to find one that I can do. I really need more dvds...I am like a crack addict except with cathe dvds...I can just not have enough.:eek:

Oh yeah I have not been watching TBL this year but I think I will have to get back into it...The woman that had the tragic loss of her whole family was on the radio program I listen to in the morning yesterday! I tell you I just about cried listening to her. Not just the story of her family but her overwhelming strength to overcome that and press on! I just have my DH and I just could not imagine how life would be without him so for her to lose her entire family, the children and all is just unfathomable!

OK not trying to leave on a sad note...So I hope all of you have a great Halloween and I will be back later to check in!!!!!

Rachel

Heh heh Rachel! I'm both the spooky house (over 100 trees, no street lights and verrrryyyy dark!) and the hard to get to house! Thanks for thinking I have a good memory! Half the time I can't remember if I closed the garage door and have to drive back to check! LOL!

The girl that lost her family is Abby and that's who Kim and I have been referring to. It's so tragic, but she is so brave and inspirational! I'm with you, I don't know what I'd do if something happened to my DH! But you never know what life is going to deal you!

I am better today but still don't feel very energetic. I'm going to go juice and maybe see if I have more energy to workout this afternoon. It's 1/2 raining 1/2 sunshining right now and feels like a good soup day!

I love new workout clothes! They make me feel so good! Last year I got a new Nike heavy jacket (light down) with a hood and it's just so stylish and sporty! But love fitness pants and T's! Okay, love it all! :p

I'm off to the shower so will check on you Halloween girls later!

Trick or Treat!

Hi Girls,

I got to sleep in until 7 am this morning! THat is unheard of! I felt so much better!
Jo, I happened to take an unplanned trip to Whole Foods so I checked if they have GSE (grapefruit seed extract) and they do, in the small bottle, but they have it. I got the bigger bottle from the website because I figured if a flu hits, I want to have plenty for the whole family!
I'm glad you are feeling better, Jo. Down here it is headache weather... so I am laying low and not doing much. However, I am planning on trying out a new recipe for raw chocolate pudding (dairy free) it's from the same person that does the green smoothies, I'll let you all know if it is as yummy as she says it is...LOL!
Rachel, I'm glad you got a better work situation this time around! Enjoy it! Good job for working hard for your workout!
Kim, I hope you are weathering the Insanity workouts better now that your body has recovered from the shots!

Cendrine, I hope you are feeling better! Wow 7:00!!! Shameful!

DH picked up the grapefruitseed extract for me when he was out so I will give it a try in the morning.

Just like I thought...we had a total of 4 Trick or Treaters all before dark! They were very cute and off to parties. I had asked DH to pick up some candy. So instead of just picking up a few knowing we'd only have a few, he picked up a giant candy bag at Costco! Luckily, none of it appeals to me but he is in there right now having a Reese's peanut butter cup! LOL! It used to be I had the sweet tooth but he has one now and likes a little something in the evening!

I made another great juice today: Kale, romaine, clementines, granny smith, beet, red peppers and ginger.

I still didn't feel totally up to par earlier today so again skipped my workout. Normally I would have done something light when I feel this way but with everyone being sick everywhere I want to make sure my immune system is strong! Even when the trick or treaters were here, my neighbor told me she was down with H1N1 and has just recovered this last week. She said 1 week of being really sick and 2 weeks of no energy but the kids didn't get it (the 2 little girls 10 & 7).

Talk to you all tomorrow! I think I'll redo my first week of week 3 since I never got to give it a good go this last week. Good night!
