CLX done after work! Only 2 more workouts left.

Big Harry Potter fan here! A friend keeps trying to get me to read the Twilight books but haven't yet. I thought I might wait till dd is old enough to read them with me.

DD had to get her Hep B vaccination (all Grade 4 kids get them at the school ) and she HATES needles. She ended up throwing up From nerves I think) and the school had to call me:(:( DH went and got her, cleaned her up, and sent her back to school.
 
Kim- So sorry about the vaccination incident...I wonder why some people are terrible with needles and others are not affected by them...? I guess that will always be a mystery.

Well it was 4DS HIS and chest and back. Boy that HIS is hard for me...I mean the choreography. #3 is tough. but I refuse to quit trying so I rewind it until I get it and then next time I am a little better at it. Tomorrow is cardio or stretch of choice so I will do the shortest version of drill max and then the sts extended stretch. That should make me feel good.

OK I have been working on my halloween costume all day. I even paper mache'd ...I am going to be a frat house toilet.:p So I am making jello tonight to put in the bowl part and it is going to filled with disgusting looking stuff. The party is Saturday so as you can tell I have procrastinated. But I do better under pressure!

OK...I need to shower and try to get to bed early so I can start changing my sleep around a little. I think we start a new job on Monday!

Last of the day and first of the mornin...huh!

Well it will be short!
Drill max and extended stretch done! Since I knew I was going through DM only once I thought I should really get low and really push off those legs when necessary. So I feel like although it was short I got a really good workout in.
On the calendar tomorrow I am supposed to be off. This week was weird because it had 2 off days. I don't think I can do 2 off days. So what do you think I should do?

OK off to eat breakfast!

Rachel, take the two days off! It's good for you! Then on the third day you'll be amazed at how good that recovery time was for your body! We work out 6 days a weeks a lot so shaking it up once in a while does a body good!

Today I did the first 5 combos of Low Max. Again, I'm staying up too late and getting up too late! I got to change that!

Kim, what did you think of TBL? I'm bummed about Dina but amazed at how well they did at home! Poor Daniel!

So I think you know all know that Cendrine and I are going to meet on Saturday. So, what do you think happened? I woke up with a big zit on my nose today! Maybe it will be gone by Saturday...but Cendrine don't look at my NOSE! :p

Hi Girls,

I tired to get on the website during lunch and I could not get on, then at night, just when I was getting ready to get on, the power went out... So that is why I didn't check in yesterday. I did Step Fit yesterday and am feeling my glutes from all that scissor work! And today was LIC.
Even though it's fairly warm here I am walking around with a blanket wrapped around me...what's up with that!?

Anyway, for you kale lovers, I made a kale salad yesterday which turned out yummy, I think. I took one bunch of kale and chopped it finely, added half a purple onion chopped, handful of dried cranberries, handful of pumpkin seeds, lemon juice, olive oil and seasalt. Then i let it sit for half an hour before eating.
I felt rather proud to have finally eaten it raw! For that matter I tried a swiss chard salad raw a few days ago which was really yummy too!

Jo, no worries about your nose, stuff like that happens to me too! Ugh!

Kim, sorry about your daughter! I'm glad she is better now!

Rachel, your outfit sounds disgusting....LOL I mean that in the best way! Very creative! Any chances of you posting a pic when you put it on?
 
I am going to MAKE DH help me so that I can finally learn how to post some pics.

So far the building is going good. I have everything pretty much made I just have to finish painting it and assemble it. I think it will come out alright. I think I am retiring my costume making after this year. I think I scraped the bottom of the barrel for this one.;):D

The hard part about this party is going to be the food. It is going to be nothing but yummy bad for you dips and spreads and probably sweets and treats. I normally do alright but I have been known to indulge. Even though I do not think that that is a bad thing, this is the sort of food you get a hang over from the next day. There are no healthy eaters in this group...Just HEALTHY EATERS...;) There is going to be Karaoke too. I am not one to do that either...Are Yall? The only way I ended up doing that last year was when a whole group of us gals got up and sang Jolene by Dolly Parton! Very funny...Esp in my sheep costume!

OK I am off to see what else I can get done. I have to take a break from costume building so I can step back and look at it!

Kim, I hope DD is better! My stepson was (still is) that way also! He would start freaking out when the nurse would just take a hold of his arm! I would have to help try keep him calm. I feel so bad for them being so afraid! So what do you want to tackle after CLX? Do you want to be free of rotations for a few weeks and do your own thing? Or get right into something else?

Rachel, I can't wait to see your costume! I bet you'll be awesome! Don't worry about a little bad eating...it's only bad when you do it ALL the time! :p I've done karoke before as I have no shame and am a terrible singer. DH wants to hide when I want to do this...it's been a long long time but I'd do it again! I'm not afraid to make a fool of myself! :eek:

Cendrine, yeah the site must have been down for a while yesterday, I couldn't get on either! I really want to try making you salad! Its sounds wonderful! I have eaten kale salad with tomatoes, onions and pine nuts but yours sounds even better!
 
I forgot to say how fun that you and Cendrine are going to actually meet in real life. The zit thing made me laugh because that always happens to me. Anytime I have to go some where 'important' or meet someone for a meeting about work. First day on the job...anything I feel is important to me BAM...big forehead zit!!!

I am trying a new recipe out for DH. Enchiladas...None for me but they sure look good!!!. Don't I wish a was a guy with a great metabolism sometimes!!! Oh well. I can just watch him eat and enjoy...Damn I must be in a good mood!:p

Jo I think you almost got me talked into taking the day off tomorrow. Cathe must have scheduled it for a reason right!.

OK I am off to see whats on the dvr!

I took your advice Jo and took today off. It was scheduled so I am sure it will not hurt:rolleyes: I think it is because tomorrow is an extra long workout. LIS and butts and guts...Whew! That one is gonna burn!

Oh Rachel...tomorrow, with your planned workout, you'll be "oh so glad" you had this extra day off! Where's those pictures??

I did Disc 18 today for the 2nd time - I did better on the pullups (I still suck though) but I'm slowly improving! Monday I will start week 3 of Meso 2!

Lots to do today as I'm taking tomorrow off so I'll check back later!
 
I promise I will post them on Sunday. We are not quite done with our costumes yet. I have some finishing touches to do to mine before I can do a full dress rehearsal and of course DH's is just so cool. He has a lot of work to do but he is very creative and good at these things. The first year we went to this party he was a cave man riding a dinosaur. I was skeptical when he told me his idea but he duilt the dino out of chicken wire and spray foam and it was great. He gets a vision and really make it come to life. If we ever did have kids they would have the best halloween costumes! Then they would probably want to go as something simple like a sheet ghost...you know how that goes.

So Jo when are you leaving to meet Cendrine and Cendrine are you ready to meet Jo! This should be very fun. Yall have to share all the details!

As far as tomorrows workout goes...I never would have scheduled that for myself...It was Cathe's idea!;):eek:

It is a rainy blaw day here but from tomorrow on it looks like sun...I hope you have good traveling weather Jo and visiting weather too for you guys!

Hi Guys,

just a quick hi! I did Step Works today, Jo! And I really enjoyed it! I did the whole thing on two risers and was huffing and puffing accordingly, but I loved it! Cathe is just awesome, always was!

Rachel, I am super excited to get together with Jo, it should be so much fun!

I can't believe you are doing LIS and butts and guts! Yikes! That will hurt!

I have been forgetting to ask this but looking at the travel fit pics reminded me...Does anyone else have a hard time doing the Y's and the other band exercise for rear delts with med. tension band??? I try to pull that thing up and then just have to give in and grab the lightest tension band!!! Just thought I would see if I am the only one!

I've been busy the last couple of weeks but should be able to be around more in the next while. Will get caught up on personals over the weekend.
 
Yay Kim!!!!! So do you like your results? I know you were definitely looking forward to coming back to Cathe, but do you think your time with CLX was worth it for you results wise?

Rachel, the band work is always hard, my pride won't let me get a light resistance band, so I just suck it up and probably have bad form...:confused:

Circuit Max for me tomorrow, haven't yet done this one so it will be another first! Looking forward to it!

Rachel, I'm leaving tomorrow noonish. Cendrine and I are going to rondevue on Saturday for lunch! I haven't decided if I'm taking my computer or not...so worse case I'll check in again Monday after I'm back! About those bands...mine are the original green medium I got with the Gym Styles. Mine's a little flexible (or stretched really from so much use) and I really need to replace it so in answer to your question...I'm good with the current band but know the newer ones are more difficult so I'm sure I would struggle some. My green one is still a challenge however!

Okay, I'll check in before I leave tomorrow!
 
Whew weeeeeee!!!!!!

Cathe was not messing around when she put this on the rotation!!! Made me want to ask her WHY???:eek: I think if I had not taken yesterday off I would not have done very well! So there is some reason to all her madness! Since I did take yesterday off I was totally chomping at the bit to get in there and see how I could do. I really did have a lot of fun with it. Thank goodness our job got canceled for today or I would have been pressed for time. I just kept saying to myself that as soon as I can not concentrate anymore then I will stop! I made it all the way to the pizza presses on the last leg and then I told myself...Well you can't stop NOW! :D So it was a great workout..the polar said I burned 720 calories so in true OCD about exercise fashion I started thinking if only I had worked out yesterday...Just think how many calories for the week that would have been!!!:rolleyes: I know you don't have to say it!

Jo-I hope you have a safe trip and find Cendrine tomorrow. Yall have a great lunch!!!

Kim- CONGRATULATIONS on finishing CLX. I know at times it seemed like it was pretty tough. And I also wanted to thank you for sticking with us while you were doing it! I know that sometimes it probably is easier to checkin with folk that are on the same page as you are but I for one am glad you stuck around!

Cendrine-How was circuit max? Was this another one you have not tried before? Are you prewatching them before you try them or are you just jumping right in?

Oh I hope there are going to be some videos posted from Daytona!!!

Why does the website always make me log in now??:mad: Feeling kind of grumpy as I'm coming down with dd's cold. Got a sore throat. Kids and I have no school/work today. Have my niece and nephew here too, hanging out as they also had no school. Decided to take the kids to Dairy Queen and I had no intention of getting anything as I wasn't even feeling well then I saw the sign for a pumpkin pie blizzard. :p It was very yummy.

CLX Review: I lost one lb. Definitely saw some definition in my shoulders. I initially really enjoyed the workouts as she has a very different style than Cathe. Loved the short lengths (mostly 30-45 mins) The weight workouts were challenging but the cardio were quite easy. The weight workouts changed every 4 weeks and so enough variety. But you do the same 2 cardio workouts for the whole 12 weeks which got very boring!!! There was 2 ab workouts, 1 for the first 6 weeks and the other for the last 2 weeks. The first one was a bit on the easy side but I really liked the second one. The stretch workout was very boring and I substituted Stretch Max alot.

Chalene herself is very bubbly and fun. Her clothes are very revealing :confused:DH would make comments when he worked out with me. In one video she wore boots:rolleyes::rolleyes: She often picked a heavier weight than the other people but she never finished the set and I often wondered if she could of;) Her counting is terrible.

Overall, I enjoyed the 12 weeks but lots of repetition so 8 weeks would have been better. It was a good enough series to be worth completing a round but not I wouldn't bother with another round.

Although I really miss Cathe. I am going to do the Insanity rotation as
1) I paid good money for it so better try it.
2) it's the perfect length of time (8 weeks) to put in and finish by the new year.
3)once I get Cathe's new cardio I probably won't want to leave it for awhile.

After Insanity I think I will be back with Cathe to stay a long time. I'll do the new STS rotation for 3 months and then get back into her monthly rotations (except Rachael has made me a bit nervous ;))

Going to start a new thread for personals.

Well, I did Circuit Max for the first time today. It was tough, although I though it was rather easy on the weights... But it sure got me sweating, so I'm not complaining. I may take an extra day off tomorrow, but we'll see.

Rachel, I think if I had been you I might have just done LIS yesterday and butss and guts today instead of doing Cathe's plan...:eek: I don't know that I would have had the time, anyway, but hats off to you for doing it! You must feel rather accomplished! I have not really previewed the new workouts I got from Cathe, just jumped right in. I'm not sure if I am catching on well because of having done lots of her other workouts or if she just cues them super well, (probably a little of both) but I have not seen the need to preview.

Kim, thanks for the review of CLX, now I can't wait for your review of Insanity! LOL! And I hear you, I would do Insanity too, if I had it, because there is no way I would do it for a while after Cathe's new workouts come out! It looks like they are working on editing already. Do you guys think it will be out by the end of november? I'm wondering when everyone feels like starting the new sts rotation? I think initially everyone said something about January? Sure would be a great way to start the new year! if that is the case though, I might use some of the sts cardio (if it comes out before January) with my regular rotation to get used to them, otherwise I'm afraid it might be too much shock for my poor body...LOL!

So you guys, I am seriously thinking about typing up my workout journey for the Cathe site, because I would love to get some free cathe bucks! LOL!
Have any of you thought of doing that?
 
I keep meaning to ask if anyone if planning on redoing their 1 rep maxes for the next round of STS??

Jo Did those closets every get cleaned?? I know what you mean about staying the same size. I'm the same, my shape doesn't change much ovetr the years so unless it wears out then I keep in the closet. I didn't know that you did P90X. I think Dina looked great! Strange that Daniel gained a 1lb maybe he didn't do as well at home as he was letting on.

Cendrien So what has been your favourite new workout this week? How was that Jillian Michael's book, Master your Metabolism?? Did you learn anything interesting?

Rachael Hopefully you can post some pics of your Halloween costumes. They sound very creative!! Enjoy the party, it's okay to have a few treats some times.Oh yes, the choreography in HIS is tricky! The last couple of times I've done that workouts, I was finally getting it! LIS and b &G:confused::confused:, you must have been working out half the day!! I'm glad that I stuck around too ;)
