6 month alumni<---->week of Nov.29

Whew...okay wanted to save that post before I lost it again.

Cendrine, I'm glad you're already responding! I'm going to have to try the squash casserole too!!!

Rachel, snow?? Are you kidding me? It's supposed to be 32 here tonight (it was 37 when I came home). Bundle up!!

Gayle, you busy busy busy girl! Hope you had a good shopping day!

Okay, bye for sure now!:eek::p:p:p

Good Morning and Good Day All!

I have a meeting so I have to get going...needless to say, I CANNOT GET UP! I overslept AGAIN and so only had time to do the hi/lo of MIC! So, being the good girl that I am, I will come home tonight and finish it! If I didn't have this meeting I would have gotten the job done! But, I'm not feeling bad about it! But I am feeling bad that my flannel sheets will not release me! And, I even set my alarm (but still didn't get up)! Oh well...check in with you all later!

Man it must be the flannel sheets because I do not want to crawl out of bed this week either!!!
It is getting cold here...esp. for us!

Today was GS legs...I really think you are going to love this series, Cendrine! They are all such good workouts. I really love the floor part of the GS legs. It is so tough! My inner and outer thighs were dying!
I have to preview MIC for tomorrow. I have not done that one before but have heard yall comment on how tough it is so this should be interesting. I am siking myself up for that one!

Jo-You are so funny...again you had me laughing about the mouse. I think yall were both freaked out when it cam to the top of the stairs. At one point in the great mouse saga here, my cat stopped paying attention to it and when I looked at here it was gone. I was really starting to freak. Then I saw it and was trying to tell her where it was and finally I had to pick her up and throw her in that direction:D. Terrible! I think she was doing that just to mess with me. So did you come home and finish MIC? I am hoping I have enough time in the morning to get it all in cause I know I will not come home and do it!

Cendrine-I am so glad that your back is getting better. You sound about as stubborn as I am when it comes to an injury and working out. I always think that I can work through it and that usually never works in my favor. When I used to run on the treadmill I would always have some aches...If it was not in my foot it was in my hips...I just would not quit because I felt like I had no other cardio option...Then I found Cathe. Now I have not had those same issues. I just think I did not know how to run in the right way. I know that sounds kind of dumb but I really believe it is like everything else. You have to learn some basics. Oh well. I don't need that now!

I am very excited that it is wednesday. This week is flying by. Probably because I still have Christmas shopping to do but as of right now I am not stressing about it!

I hope yall are all having a great day and night!

Rachel

Hi Guys,

Rachel, you are right, I never like to stop for an injury... except it has worked for me pretty well so far, this time is different. I am feeling the age! LOL! This is not supposed to happen yet, I can't believe how many times I find myself saying I'm getting older, terrible! The other day ds wanted me to show him how to do a handstand. I used to do all this gymnastic stuff for fun when I was a teenager, and I thought I would just do a quick one, but had to try several times to not loose my balance... Monkey bars and paralell bars equally kill my palms now, even though I did whole routines on them before...! I guess you work up some calluses or something, but I sure don't have it anymore! I'm just glad my pullup bar is padded!

I'm with you guys on the nice warm sheets! I wonder why it is hitting me harder this year than usual. Oh well, better get used to it.

We are hoping to take the kids to Disneyland for the christmas parade in the evening with all the lights on and all. But it is so darn cold, I don't know if we are going to feel like goign through with it. I'd like to , because it is for sure less busy now than it will be closer to christmas!

Oh, Rachel, I did some baking today from the CE mag. The scones are delish, I forgot to get limes for the zest, but it still was yummy, of course not crumbly like a butter scone would be but the flavor was still good. The apple drop biscuits could use more sweet and spice for my liking and the honey sunflower loaf was a big hit with the kids, maybe because they were hungry....LOL! I also made the lentil burger for dinner, I need to cook them longer next time, the onions were not soft enough for my liking, but other than that they were yummy.

Jo, your mouse story is hilarious! You are a good story teller!

Good luck with MIC! A good one to do when it's cold, since you will be hot!

Hello! YES, I came home and finished MIC! Am I good or WHAT????

And see, Rachel, isn't it AMAZING how good all of Cathe's workouts are? I'm so glad you're enjoy GS! I love the variety; they all have something different!

Cendrine, don't feel bad about the handstands! LOL! You could do them in no time if you practiced! (Though there is something different about the blood rushing to your head that feels different than when you were younger! HA!)

Sounds like we're all experiencing some cold weather! It was 32 when I came home but we are had sunshine today so no threat of snow!

Stay warm! Tomorrow is GS Back, Shoulders and Biceps! I'm looking forward to it!

Oh, and I'm glad you all liked my mouse story! :p

Off to bed...BUT did I mention (no I didn't) BUT did I mention how DOMS'd my BUTT is! Yowza! Got to love those leg workouts! Every workout hits the legs just a "leetle" bit different!

G'night!!!

Hi all! I'm playing catch up from 2 very CRAZY BUSY days. He just had a bunch of stuff Tuesday and Wednesday on the schedule....all good, just busy!

I missed Jo's mouse story somehow.....I thought I read everything but I must have missed some! I'll check it out.

Now that I've read about MIC, I want to do that one! LOL

I promise that once was ALL start STS in January with Shock Cardio, I'll be a better checker-inner. Right now, I'm checking in with you gals, my teams on the BFL site I frequent and some friends on facebook. I want to do you ALL justice, but sometimes it's too much in one day! :) But I'm here, I promise!

I've been working on the S&H series this week. I'll repeat it one more week then move onto something else. Tomorrow is the last of the 3...bis and tris. Today was an iCycle 40 minute workout. YIKES! I don't like the bike that much, which is why I figured I better do it MORE! LOL

Gotta scoot, sorry to hit and run with no personals!

Gayle

Jo, great job coming home and finshing MIC! You are GOOD!

what do you all think of thte December rotation?

Not much to report here, since I'm not working out.... But the kids are enjoying the extra time they get with me. We dipped candles today and they both loved it. So we'll have to do that again next year. Makes great presents from them!

Good Day!!!!

I did GS Back, Shoulders and Biceps this morning! It was a great and grueling workout! I have to go lighter because of the pace and no rests (the rests really spoiled me in STS!). But, you know, even though I've been lifting for a lot of years, I feel like my form is much much better now even though I'm going a little lighter. And, I'm getting DOMS more in some places that I didn't used to (like biceps). Anyway, GREAT WORKOUT today!

I have company coming tonight that will be here until Monday so I may be a little sparse on the forum this weekend (but I'll still have SOME time and I'll still be doing my workouts!)

Cendrine, I think the December rotation looks fun! If you are feeling well enough after next week, maybe we could do that until January. That would really get you into the premixes!!

Gayle, don't worry about checking in. We love hearing from you when you have time so don't stress about us!

Hello Rachel! Hope you're having a busy productive day!

Kim....hope you're on a ride having the time of your life!!!

Hey guys... I am going to have to hit and run. We got home late and I still have to eat and shower and all that other good stuff.
I got in 55 mins of MIC this morning and then I was pooped so I had to quit. Yall must have sent me a sleepless night because I wok up at 1 am and was wide awake. I stayed in bed but I was starving so it took a long time to quit thinking about eating and go back to sleep!
I am thinking seriously about trying to add on some of the stuff I left off on my Saturday work out. :D That should be an interesting morning!

Jo-You are super impressive coming home and finishing MIC. If I knew what I had to come home to...I would have been shaking in my shoes!

Cendrine-Did you go to the lights at Disney. I bet it is beautiful! Thanks for the input on all the recipes. I knew I could count on you to get to them before I did!

Gayle-We know you are busy! So just check in when you can!

Ok gals ...Sorry I haven't been too personal tonight..You know short on time!

See you tomorrow!

Rachel

Good morning Yall

I had a feeling that I was going to be the last poster last night. Well I had a little extra time this morning since I do not make lunch on Fridays. So I decided that if I felt like it after the of GS back shoulders and bi's I would throw in a little more MIC. I guess I am running on 'period power' cause I felt like it:pSo I did the first 2 portions of the step and really got into them more today! Probably because I was not worn out form the hi/lo already! I could have done more but I still needed to do other things this morning too so I just called that enough and thought I would use the rest of this excess energy at work. I hope it lasts. I love the days when you feel like you can go on forever! It would be nice to have a good long work out tomorrow too!

I hope yall are all having a great day and staying warm...there is another chance for snow flurries today. It is very cold here right now. 20'S...I just bundle up and try to enjoy it while it lasts. We have a way longer hot spell than a cold one so I am trying to enjoy it.

See yall tonight!
Rachel

Wow Rachel!!! I still can't believe it's so cold there! But, I know it happens! I've been in Dallas before when they were having ice storms and whoooeeee that was nasty! Good job with MIC!

Today I did Imax 2 and STS Abs Medicine Ball. GF and I have already been to the mall and we're all meeting another couple for dinner tonight. It's 33 here right now but was in the 20's last night. So we are all COLD!

Tomorrow is rest day so GF and I will be shopping early...she's looking for a treadmill (this is GF from Montana and is just getting into working out). Anyway, as I love looking at fitness toys, I gladly volunteered to take her all over the place to look at equipment.

Oh, and last thing, I've been wanting to invest in really good knives as the ones we have are old, dull and just plain crappy. So I bought a couple of high-end paring knives at Williams Sonomoa (they were 50% off) to try out this brand so see if I like it. In the last year, since I went mostly raw, I've spent more time cutting and chopping then I have our entire marrriage! So, it's time....besides we also fillet fish and things like that so good knives would really make a different. DH and I discussed buying knives as our Xmas present this year.

Okay, talk later! Hope you all have a good weekend!

This week seems to have really taken a toll on me! While waiting for GF I fell asleep (after my last post!). Anyway, I wanted to tell you all how great this workout week was for me! The combination of workouts was perfect and I think I've had DOMS in every muscle I worked (including biceps!). Okay, I'm off now...must go fix my makeup before we go out! (I never take naps - - but it felt so good!)

Hi Girls!

My rest week is coming to an end and I am having to start thinking about what to do to start next week.

Rachel, I made the minestrone with quinoa from CE magazine today and it was sooo good! I have to admit, I did add some bacon bits since I still had some that I'm trying to use up, but I'm pretty sure the soup would be delish without it too!
I'm so glad you had such a burst of energy! I'm really enjoying those days too, although right now is such headache weather for me that all I want to do is nothing... I haven't had an issue with weather and headaches before, I hope it doesn't stay!

We did make it to Disneyland for the parade which was a lot of fun, the kids really enjoyed it. We had planned to stay for the fireworks which the website and the workers there said would be at 8:40, when we came out of Buzz lightyear ride at 8 we just heard the last 2 pops of the fireworks! Dh and I were so miffed! I'm still upset about it thinking about it now. Our kids have really early bedtimes because they get up so early, and they never sleep in, so taking them out late meant they would be crabby for a few days for missing sleep, and they did not catch up with naps either... And all this without seeing what we came for! Thanks for letting me rant! I asked the workers how we could know when the fireworks were going to be in the future and they said they were different every day and that the only place to find out is at the gate when you come in. I'm such a planner that this bugs me. So, I'm not sure if we are going to try again soon or not... I can't believe they would not be more specific with times.... I gotta talk to some Disneyland veterans and see if they have some insider tricks...

Jo, sounds like you had fun shopping with your friend! I love helping friends get into exercise too, so I can imagine how much fun you are having. Did your friend find something? Good knives are so much fun to work with and save a lot of elbow grease! When you find what you like let me know, I might be interested in some new ones myself!

This is going to have to be quick...I have so much to do today !

First a little personals..

Jo-How fun that your friend is getting into fitness. I would love to have a GF here that I could share with!
I know exactly what you mean about knives. A good one is paramount when you are cooking with a lot of fresh ingredients. I have a great chef's knife. It is from Alton Browns's collection and it is nice and small. I bet since you are so petite it would fit your hands great.

Cendrine-So sorry about the fireworks! I hate that. I am a planner when it comes to things like that too and I hate things that are out of my control. How much longer do you have the season passes for?
I was thinking about making that minestrone soup too! Thanks for the review.

OK guys my workout was great and I will have to tell you about it later...I am running late for the day!

Rachel

Hello from Mickeyland! This keyboard is terrible so quick post. Here at DisneyQuest at the Alice in Wonderland internet cafe while the kids are playing games. We were supposed to be at the waterpark but it's too cold! The beginning of the week was hot and thekids swam alot. Busy busy days! I have a terrible cough! This evening the boys are going toTampa to see the NHL game and girls are shopping, Back to the parks tomorrow, home Tuessday. Hope all is well1

Hello KIM...although you probably will not be back;)

OK I have few minutes until I am off to my nephews b-day party. I just wanted to post about my work out...
I know i said earlier in the week that I was going to pick up some of the parts of the work outs that I left off...Well I did and it felt great. On todays schedule for me it was IMAX and med ball ans , so I did that and added the weights portion of the weights and plates abs and then to that to finish it all off I did the leg conditioning drills of KickMax!!! Every time I was feeling like I was lacking in enthusiasm, I tried to push or tighten or raise a little bit more and I made it through everything that way! It was a great Sat. workout but it did put me in a rush for the rest of the day...esp since I did not get up until 6. Then I felt like I have been running all day with little rest and am just a little irritable. I am trying to breathe through these little spouts and tell myself to calm down and I am the one making myself crazy but poor DH is getting caught in the crossfire sometimes:D. I am trying to be better!

OK I am off to finish gathering stuff to go and I will see yall later. I hope all are doing well today!'
