6 month alumni Saturday checkin

Good morning guys. I think yall are all pretty busy today, right?
Well I am not really until this afternoon. I have a b-day party for a guy and his wife to go to. He works in the office we sub from. He invited us last year too and it is weird because we do not really know any of his other friends so we just hang out with the people from the office. We are the only subs there. Kind of awkward. It is kind of like mixing business with pleasure if you know what I mean.

This morning the rotation called for step max which I do not have so I did Step Blast instead and it was so much fun. Now that I have a lot to choose from, it takes me a while to get back to some and when I do, I get to remembering how fun they are. Isn't it weird though, that with all the step dvds, that no matter how long it has been since you have done them, they just come back to you so quickly.Some days I can not even remember what dh said this morning but I can remember a step disc I did from 3 months ago.:rolleyes::p How is that?

So tomorrow it is a rest day and I think the rain is going to move in so I am going to save house cleaning for then and spend the day outside piddlin' with this or that. Maybe I will find enough to keep me busy without having to go buy some project supplies.

Cendrine-I hope you party goes off without a hitch!

Jo-I hope you are enjoying your Washington weather.

Kim-Was it the hockey game you decided to go to and how was it?

Good Day!

Well, Disc 15 done and I am a WIMP! Uh...I suck at pullups, chinups, anything up including flying jacks and tuck jumps! The tower works great and I definitely have a lot to work up too!!! I still say: GET IT BUY IT YOU MUST HAVE ONE! It was very hard for me and I was tempted to pull my tubing with door attachment back out!!!

I swear though...I struggled through my weights today and had to drop from what I had originally on my workout card. Again...we'll wait and see what happens next week but I definitely have lost a little strength.

Rachel, I know what you mean about memory and the step workouts! I can pick up an oldie like Step Max or Step Jam and it's like I just did it! And, they are as fun as ever! Have fun at the b-day party. I've been in those kind of situations too; make the best of it! Today it's supposed to be 57 and there is snow advisory out for the mountains! Kim - snow yet??

Cendrine, I got my ticket yesterday. I will arrive Friday afternoon and leave Sunday around 5:00. GF and I were thinking we could meet you for lunch Saturday if that works for you...if not tell me what works and we'll work our schedule around you. Sunday is fine too if that's better...and we can meet later in the day - whatever. Just tell me what works for you then we can figure out the where and when. We don't have any specific plans so we are flexible!

Kim, hope you're enjoying your day and what CLX workout did you do today?

I'm very excited to get to meet Cendrine and I wish all of us were getting together!!! Wouldn't that be fun? :D
 
Sorry quick post from me, I should have time to catch up tomorrow.

Busy day here with CLX, ds had hockey, dd had piano lessons, took kids clothes shopping as both were complaining that they had no pants (now that we can't wear shorts).
This evening we're going to see the Toy Story movies that were re-released in 3-d. Tomorrow morning is swimming lessons and then hockey again but the rest of the day should be quiet.

well, ds' birthdayparty is over and I'm alive to tell about it. LOL! It really wasn't so bad. There was one kid who just would not listen and respect boundaries... that is tiring... he got into all the presents and would not let anyone play with the gift he gave to ds...:confused: I didn't know what to do so we just let him do it to not have a scene. Then when the parent came to pick him up he threw a fit because he could not finish the lego project he had started... And he's a year older than ds! But everyone else was fine and we got all the games done without a hitch, the cake was a hit (will post picture later sometime) and ds loved all his gifts. So it was a good party for ds even if dh and I are exhausted...:rolleyes:
Maybe we'll just go do a lazer tag party next time and save ourselves the work...

I finished Cross train express with the kickbox dvd and skipped abs...:eek: But I am having some nice doms from chest and leg work earlier in the week.

I spent some time prepping my workout calendar for the month ahead. Circuit city and cardio blasts for me like I threatened...LOL!

Jo, you are not a whimp! You worked hard and that is all you can ask of yourself! Besides, like you said yourself you have lost some strenght (as I have, too) and you are still working really hard! Be proud of yourself for working with the tower! It will get easier each time you do it, although some days you may not feel like doing it ( I know I didn't want to do the pullup bar each time....) We all have good days and weaker days. (or weeks or months, for that matter...)
I have you on the calendar! Saturday lunch sounds great! I'm so looking forward to meeting you in person! Where do you guys like to eat? I'm not picky at all, so anything you like!

Rachel, Step Blast is so fun! I really enjoy that one! I'm glad you had some time to just be! Enjoy!

Kim, sounds like your weekend is even busier than mine...LOL! I had to laugh when you said the kids did not have pants to wear now that you can't wear shorts any more... Isn't that how it always goes...LOL!
Your workouts sound pretty tough. Those compound moves are challenging enough with moderate weight, I'm not sure how I would do with heavy ones. Do they at least slow down the moves or are you still required to move pretty fast?
