I have renewed my LIVE subscription before it was expired so that I could use a coupon code in the past. All I did was put in the "NOTES" section upon purchase to manually extend my subscription. I also emailed Customer Service at the same time asking them to manually extend my subscription. They did do it correctly the first time, but when I renewed a second time early to utilize the coupon code, they forgot to manually extend my subscription.
However, I just emailed them when I was wrongly "locked out/expired" and they extended it correctly. I recommend you just keep track of the correct extended date in case they forget to do so. That way you don't forget a year later what the correct extended date should be.
