50 and Over: ~~ Wilting Wednesday~~

Good Morning to all:

It is so humid here, so I am wilting! We had a thunderstorm last night, things were flying around! My mum pots were down the sidewalk. Dogs were pacing and panting, afraid of the noise.

Today was a new Treadmill Challengers DVD I got on Ebay. 40 minute interval training, while you watch 4 others run, a coach tells you what to do. The time went by pretty fast and I burned 264 calories.

Anybody watching Dancing with the Stars this season? I saw Monday's show and it looks like at least with the women, they have some pretty good contestants. Will watch the tape of the men tonight. I want to see Cameron Matheson, especially.

Today's Menu:
Post workout protein shake
B: Cherrios w strawberries and skim milk
S: LF yogurt
L: Ham on WW bread, grapes, skim milk
S: Apple w/stringter cheese
D: Lean Cuisine
S: Slim a Bear Bar

Jen:
Please check in with us! We want to hear how you are doing. Walking is a "real" workout! I am so glad to hear you did not have compression fractures. Are you going to a physical therapist place for the whiplash? I had physical therapy for 2 months for my herniated disk to see if I could prevent surgery, but unfortunetely it didn;t work, and surgery was the only answer.

Josie: how are things going with your friend?

Garance:
Do you do those push ups on your toes or your knees?x( I guess if you had someone to give you pointers on the Sushi to try, it would be ok.. isn't there a type that is cooked?. I did send the shoes back and got a different pair that I like a lot. "Fitzwell Harpo" in Black. I love Zappos! I ordered them on lunch hour on Monday and they were delivered yesterday! Fedex of course! (that's where I work).

Have a great day!

Deb

Happy Wednesday, All,

Okay, you talked me into it, Ladies! You're so sweet. Some of my walking will be inside, to Leslie Sansone tapes, at least for a few days. It's still very hot and humid, but we're expecting an honest-to-goodness cool front Saturday. The temperatures will still get to 90, but the humidity will be much lower. Yay, my favorite time of year in the swamp is almost here!

I'm leaving in about an hour to go to the dentist to have my permanent crown seated and get a small cavity filled. Then, home to stupid amounts of paperwork for workers' comp and work and a Leslie tape.

garance, I'm another big sushi fan. Until a sushi restaurant opened up in the tunnel underneath downtown Houston a few years ago, I had never had sushi, but it's now my favorite lunch, and one of the very few things I miss about not being at work!

deb, when the doctor called with my MRI results, he said he would have someone on his staff call me to get started with physical therapy. I'll give them until tomorrow, then call them.

Have a wonderful day,
Jen

Hi Deb an Jen and those to follow:

I don't know what I will be doing today. I have a parent teacher conference this evening. My daughter is a senior in high school and we have to discuss all of the upcoming events.

Deb, My friend was admitted to the hospital on Monday and is doing much better. She got the steroid that she needed immediately at the hopital. She had been wating for the approval from her insurance company and she was just getting weaker by the day. I'm glad that she was admitted. I get to see her in the AM and PM since I work at the UCLA hopital. Her doctor will also start her on the new chemo today and monitor her for any reaction.

Jen, I'm glad that you decided to stay.

Josie

Hi Deb, Jen, and Josie and all of you later posters, meaning Linny--

I did the LIC Cardio Blast Timesaver this morning (48 min). Yeah, it's really humid here, so I was a pool of sweat by the time I finished--really different than the last time I did this one and felt like it was a piece of cake.

Jen, so happy you decided to check in. What's your favorite sushi? Mine is yellowtail tuna, but I also love sea bass and flounder. Deb, I'm not sure about what is cooked. Maybe some of the sushi rolls?

My best friend in Minnesota broke her leg. A 70 pound Dalmatian puppy came running at her full speed and just bammed into her knees. The irony is that she's a veterinarian. She thought the dog would run around her and her own dog. It wasn't an attack, I guess, just puppy-stupid.

Hope the steroid helps your friend, Josie. Is it meant as an antidote to the effects of chemo?

3 hours of Fellini this afternoon. Daunting!

Hi Ladies:
Jen: So glad you decided to come back. Thats great news that you don't have compression fx. Praying that you have a speedy recovery.
Deb: Wow! I didn't realize Zappos was that fast. I remember that the next time I need shoes fast. Here's my menu for yesterday:

Lch:yogurt and lemon poppy muffin
Din:2 slices pizza(chicken w/pesto)
According to scale I lost 1.5pds,I hope its fat not water.
Josie: I'm praying that the new chemo tx will be your friends answer.
You're still our little energizer bunny:)
Garance: I like the LIC timesaver, one of my favs.Today I did Kickbox timesaver and back from PUB. I did watch part of ebay dvd Kimberly Spreen kickboxing. She seemed pretty easy to follow, we'll see.
