50 and over week of Sept 27 check in

Hi Joan, Beth, Tricia, Cathy & Magnolia - this morning I did STS disc 1 (second week repeat as I am doing the six month version of STS) and CC Vol 3. I think this week Disc 1 was a bit easier - except for those pushups, which I do on my knees.
Take care everyone!

hi girls, well, i did the FIRM's maximum cardio burn w/allie.
i'm watching an old bette davis movie right now. and humprey bogart is in it and he is very young. guess it was before he was a big star. he is a lowly stable boy and , uh oh, he just smooched her and that won't work, cuz she is the rich lady that owns the horses. LOL! these old movies crack me up.
well, tomorrow is october, so time to check out the rotations, and see what i'm doing. what are ya'll doin for this month?

Good morning all.

Wow, Cathy, were you watching "Dark Victory" on TCM? I watched that one, too! It was a real tear-jerker at the end, though. DH and I love old movies. There are so many that I have never seen, and that was one of them (until yesterday, of course).

BBL.

Hi everyone - this morning I did Cardio Coach Vol 4 for the first time ever. That was tough! I started doing CC workouts a few months ago and am gradually working my way though each volume, so October is Vol 4 month. Have a great day everyone!

Hi Lori, Deb, Jann, Magnolia, Tricia and Beth,

After typing all those names I'm too tired to post.:D

I just finished disc 6 legs and premix 2 of Imax3. Or maybe that's why I'm tired. I forgot how hard meso 1 legs are. I think they are harder than meso 2 and 3.

Yesterday was only junk food. I think I gained the 2 lbs I lost when I was sick. I just can't seem to get the ambition to log in and plan food.

Cathy did they test for ulcers?

Tomorrows doctor appt is for cat scan to see if mother can have 5 day radiation instead of 6 weeks. Wish us luck. If cancer is invasive or they didn't get enough or if there isn't enough space between balloon and skin she has to do the longer version.

Joan

Joan I wish you the best for you and your Mother.

YES I think Meso 1 legs are harder than the others. I love, love, love Pylo legs.

Lori - Is CC done on a treadmill?

Cathy - I love anything Allie!

Deb - :D -- yeah go for the vodka!! :D

Magnolia I have to workout in the mornings -- if I wait I just don't seem to get around to it. Even if I wear my workout cloths all day - some days.

Tricia - How's that wedding?

Beth I hope is going well. Are you still doing STS?

Today is disc 9 legs - I am physic for it! not.

Disc 9 done -- skipped the bonus exercises -
Going out to do yard work before it rains.
Have a good one ladies!

Hi everyone - completed second round of Disc 2 and did Yoga Abs. Jann, I use my elliptical, I bought an Octane 47e a few months ago and love it. Happy Friday everyone!:)

LOL! i was, magnolia, it was kinda odd the way it ended though. i guess that means that she died or somethin? i missed the first part so i don't know what was wrong w/her. and, i love the oldies too. i LOVE cary grant!

jann, ya know who is becoming my new fave? it's alison. i love her workouts. she is so fun. even the new ones w/out the box.

joan, not yet, i guess that is something they will do in nov.

have not worked out today. had grandbabies all day and was out last nite, so need to do a lower body. not sure what i'm gonna do yet. think i'll go out right now and bath my horses. a front came thru and it is actually pleasant outside.

OH yeah, legs are sore especially the back of my legs from my butt down to my knees.
icon_biggrin.gif
The combination of the high step from the side and back, all those plates exercises picking up weight and then of course wall squats with weights = sore butt.

I jumped on the treadmill this morning for 35 mins after some stretching to try to loosen it out a bit.

Have a great weekend all!

Hi everyone,

I finished disc 7 and Power Max at about 1am and then was too tired to post.

Jann I am still sore from Thursday. Yes it is back of legs and butt. As Elliot would say ouchee.

We spent over an hour at doctor Friday getting a couple of cat scans so balloon could be properly expanded. They have to know what size balloon so it fills whole space. Even though this was temporary balloon. Final balloon was to be put in Monday. The we get call from surgeon. She didn't get at least 2cm of clean tissue around cancer. It was only about 1 cm. They will have to do additional surgery in a couple of weeks. So Monday they will take out balloon. SO FRUSTRATING. But she still should have a good outcome.
Joan

Joan I am so sorry. Did I read this was done as an outpatient? That is amazing. How is your Mother doing with the meds and and treatment? Be sure to take some YOU time when you need it. Elliot is right - :D Ouchee every time I move my legs today. How DIL doing with her pregnancy?

Cathy I have never warmed up to Allison as much as Allie. I do like the one dance workout she does with different dance styles. I like the jive (I think it's called) the best. You can tell she has trained as a dancer. :)

Lori that is very  to have an elliptical. What type of work out is CC? Beats, speed, talking, down loadable?

Hi everyone - today I did Cardio Coach Volume 4 on my elliptical and man am I worn out! And it's still morning, yikes:eek:

Jann, I found out about CC on these boards, everyone who does it is so pumped about it. There is a website cardiocoach dot com where you can download the workouts, there are several volumes, each progressive. It's interval training, fabulous music, and Coach Sean talks you through the workout. I've never been fond of working out on a machine, always found it very borrrring! But these workouts have changed all that and I actually look forward to it. I originally downloaded Volume I and was sold! I was just about to buy the next volume when I found out there was a sale, so bought all of them. Gee, I'm beginning to sound like Miss Lee (one of the posters on this board) -- she's Coach Sean's number one fan I think.

Joan, sorry about your mom, surgery is so stressful. Take care.

Everyone, have a good weekend. It's snowing out right now up here in the foothills of the Rockie Mountains, so I guess winter is on its way!

Thanks Lori I did a search here on CC. Yes, Miss Lee is a fan. :p I have heard of it before I just did not remember. Thanks! Checking out the web site.

Hi, Y'All!

Sorry I missed yesterday, but I went with DH to help him with an auction (yep, he's an auctioneer in business with my in-laws), and it was out in Riverhead (which is on the eastern end of Long Island). There's a huge outlet mall there, and what can I say, he lured me. I was so tired when we got home that I was not feeling much like working out--I walked a whole lot yesterday. But I just finished Disc 9 legs. Couldn't totally finish the bonus legs, but I did the extended stretch. I can't afford to be too sore tomorrow!

Cathy, she had a brain tumor, and they found out about it because she took a fall jumping one of her horses. (The horse was okay.) Her husband was the doctor who found the tumor. She knew she was dying at the end when she sent them all away. You're right, Cary Grant was way cool and I really love his movies (especially "Charade"), but since I'm from Atlanta, I'm sorta attached to Clark Gable (that "Gone With The Wind" thing).

Joan, if legs get easier in STS, then I have something to look forward to!

Lori, how do you like Cardio Coach? I looked it up online and am considering it, especially for when we're traveling.

Deb, I am sending some money home to contribute to Clarkdale Elementary. I know the Kroger stores are doing something, as well as many others. It does sound as if there are a lot of efforts to raise money to help, and I've no doubt that the school will be rebuilt, or at least repaired. I did get your message, and thanks for the info.

Jann, you're right, it's just much easier to get workouts over in the morning and have the rest of the day to get other stuff done. I have so much on my plate right now, I have to do the most important things first, and get to as much of the rest as I can.

Tricia, how's the wedding going?

Beth, hope you are well.

Ladies, have a wonderful weekend.

Magnolia

Back again,

Jann they told me to clean out my browser cache so I could print. I don't know what that is. I did delete all cookies and logged in again. I also hit the refresh button. Help.

Mother really has not been in pain and only takes a tylenol now and again.

Dil doesn't seem to be having too much trouble with pregnancy except being tired. Last week she did get cold/sinus infection.

Joan

Joan to clear your cache on Firefox = Clear your history from tools, Options.

On IE it's under tools = Delete browsing history

I am glad your Mom is not in much pain - [[Joan]]

LOL! magnolia, me too. ahdo love me some schaalett! my favorite saying is" ah can't thank about this now, i'll thank about it tomorra!" love that movie, and also "The sound of music"

jann, yeah, that is what i think everytime i do that one, that she definitely is a dancer. cuz, i sure don't look as graceful as her when i do it.:)

well, have done nothing this weekend, so gotta get my butt in gear tomorrow.

and, yep, we got some rain, as usual, if we ain't burnin up down here, we are flooding. i knew this was gonna happen. we got a HUGH storm last nite and flooding. my 500 gal. water trough was moved about 20ft. and it looks like it was turned over and then uprighted again. cuz it was almost full yesterday and now it is almost empty . unbelievable what water can do. half the sand in my riding pen is down in the pasture.:( looks like a beach down there. we have the weirdest weather here. i don't know if it does this anywhere else. if i had left for church a few hours earlier, i would not have been able to get out. i live between 2 low water crossings, but by the time i had left the water had gone down. but, my kids live south of san antonio, and they could not get out this morning. well, at least we are out of the drought.:) for now anyway.
