Hi ladies,
Sorry to be missing the last few days. I've always thought that there was no excuse for not having an hour a day to exercise but now I'm not so sure. I have Elliot from 7:30 until 4:30, 5:30 until 7:00 is cooking and dinner and then a few hours on my accounting business. As most of you know I'm not an early riser so no exercise in the morning before work. I always thought I should exercise from 4:30 until 5:30 in afternoon but once Elliot leaves I don't do anything. It doesn't seem like the midnight wo is going to work anymore- just too tired.
Beth The 1500 calories worked for 3 months until I stopped counting calories. I have always counted calories from calorie guide and paper and pencil until last year. I really liked the nutrition calculator because it counts vitamins, protein, sodium etc. I felt like I was eating much better and if not I would take a vitamin on that day.
I know my mother is not looking forward to second operation but I don't think she is worried about dying. It's more the pain and inconvenience of 6 weeks of radiation. It's hard to tell what she is thinking. She pretty much doesn't complain. When I hear what many people (including me) complain about I always think about her life. When she was 4 or 5 her mother left family and her father put all 5 kids in an orphanage. She never really knew her brothers and sister because they were all separated. When she was about 12 she went to live with her sister but was mainly there to babysit. When sister remarried she was sent back to the home. In High School she was sent to live with a foster family in my home town. When my "grandmother's" (as we thought of her) husband died and she remarried my mother went to live with someone else in town. I don't think social services paid much attention back in those days. When she graduated she went to work and lived in a 1 room appt. She didn't learn to drive until she was 26 and had 3 kids. My father died when I was 13 and my mother had to go to work again. She worked at a grocery store bakery until the store was fire bombed. The state offered to pay her to go to school to be an LPN instead of unemployment so she took it and graduated when she was 50. She worked at a hospital until she came to live with me and take care of my two sons.
Jann I hope dh is ok.
I plan on trying to catch up on meso 1 tomorrow which is actually today
but after I get up in the morning.
Joan
