Hi ladies,

Sorry to be missing the last few days. I've always thought that there was no excuse for not having an hour a day to exercise but now I'm not so sure. I have Elliot from 7:30 until 4:30, 5:30 until 7:00 is cooking and dinner and then a few hours on my accounting business. As most of you know I'm not an early riser so no exercise in the morning before work. I always thought I should exercise from 4:30 until 5:30 in afternoon but once Elliot leaves I don't do anything. It doesn't seem like the midnight wo is going to work anymore- just too tired.

Beth The 1500 calories worked for 3 months until I stopped counting calories. I have always counted calories from calorie guide and paper and pencil until last year. I really liked the nutrition calculator because it counts vitamins, protein, sodium etc. I felt like I was eating much better and if not I would take a vitamin on that day.

I know my mother is not looking forward to second operation but I don't think she is worried about dying. It's more the pain and inconvenience of 6 weeks of radiation. It's hard to tell what she is thinking. She pretty much doesn't complain. When I hear what many people (including me) complain about I always think about her life. When she was 4 or 5 her mother left family and her father put all 5 kids in an orphanage. She never really knew her brothers and sister because they were all separated. When she was about 12 she went to live with her sister but was mainly there to babysit. When sister remarried she was sent back to the home. In High School she was sent to live with a foster family in my home town. When my "grandmother's" (as we thought of her) husband died and she remarried my mother went to live with someone else in town. I don't think social services paid much attention back in those days. When she graduated she went to work and lived in a 1 room appt. She didn't learn to drive until she was 26 and had 3 kids. My father died when I was 13 and my mother had to go to work again. She worked at a grocery store bakery until the store was fire bombed. The state offered to pay her to go to school to be an LPN instead of unemployment so she took it and graduated when she was 50. She worked at a hospital until she came to live with me and take care of my two sons.

Jann I hope dh is ok.

I plan on trying to catch up on meso 1 tomorrow which is actually today:p but after I get up in the morning.

Hi everyone - got my flu shot and the arm is a bit sore, so did not do Disc 5 as scheduled. Maybe tomorrow. However did manage to do CC Vol 4 yesterday and today.
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Hi, Y'All!

Joan, your Mom must be such a strong person. God bless her.

The only time I ever got a flu shot in my entire life, I ended up with the flu.

Does anyone else have trouble with the Workout Manager? I did 1rm's for Disc 13, and it calculated the 1rm, but didn't save it. So I did them again and wrote them down and then filled them in on the workout card by hand.

I took a rest day today. Starting Meso Cycle 2 tomorrow.

Have a great night, Ladies!

hi all, had a good weekend except for a migraine last nite.
yesterday did the firm's Boot Camp-Maximum Calorie Burn.
and today did cathe's High step circuit, and did circuit 5 & 6 2 times. that is a good workout. and you can make it as hard as you want. i use the 8" the for all the cardio and used my 2# wt. gloves.

Hi Everyone!

Good Monday everyone!! I thought I was early but some of you are up al night!

Joan, your mother's story would make a book! She sounds like an incredibly strong woman and you are absolutely right about what we complain about! That said, I have absolutely no complaints today! I will embrace this God given body and count my many blessings!

Magnolia, I have had a fear of flu shots since that time in 197?? when the swine flu vaccine killed all those people. But, since then, I have had countless Doctors say that was ridiculous-- I still hate shots though.
Lori, do you get sick from the shot?

cathy, I haven't done the high step circuit in a while-- I may pull that one out again:)

I am off to kill my chest, biceps and shoulders today with disc 7 and then to the pool for 700 yards- did my running yesterday-- have a good day!

Good Morning, Everyone!

Cathy, so sorry to hear about that headache! I get those sometimes, and I hate them so much! Hope you are feeling much better now.

Just did Disc 13. It's a killer , but my shoulders feel strong, which is how I like to feel after a workout. I think I'm lovin' this STS!

Gotta go. Lots to do today.

Have a great day, Y'All!

Hi everyone,

I couldn't get into the forum area last night. I did finish disc 10 and stability ball abs. No pikes. I had planned to try to do disc 11 also but no such luck.

We haven't got flu shot yet but will on Friday. I have not ever been bothered by a flu shot. My mother never gets the flu so I definitely want her to get one.

Joan

Hi everyone - I have gotten the annual seasonal flu shot for several years now, and never had a problem. Actually, I think I was coming down with a bug before I got the shot, my best friend has been down with the flu and I think I might have caught it from her. Therefore just took it easy today.
Later this month or early November, I will be going in for the H1N1 shot. I have no fear of the injection. I really believe that the antibodies we grow from these innoculations will give greater protection when the dreaded pandemic comes. Hopefully that will never happen.

Good morning, Ladies!

I did Basic Step today & the stability ball abs that is on the same disc. I have to take the short, uncomplicated workouts whenever possible, at least until I finish my course. The music that our choir is learning for the Christmas Concert this year is very difficult, so that's another thing I have to spend a lot of time on.

Joan, praying for you and your Mom. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Gotta run! Have a great day, everyone!

hi ladies, doing well today. thanks for your concern. computer was blitzing yesterday and had grandkids and family all day today. didn't workout today, rode horses and played w/grankids. did firm's dangerous curves ahead yesterday. will hit it again tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

I did Body Max 2 premix 6 yesterday and the legs from Physique 57 today.

Mother's surgery is at 9:30 tomorrow morning. She may be a little worried this time because she gave me the wording for the living will - when I'm supposed to pull the plug. I think the irregular heartbeat makes her more worried about a stroke and we can't do anything about that until she is done with surgeries and is healed.

Elliot was in a terrible mood today and didn't take a nap until late. Lots of crying. I hope she isn't coming down with something. She is usually so good.

Good morning, Ladies!

Just finished Disc 14 Legs. I think it has been my favorite STS workout so far! Those paper plate moves kinda make me a little nervous, but I am going to conquer them, so I'm taking the advice and going shallow.

Have a great day, Y'all.

hey ya'll, today i did the firm's tight buns & killer legs, and the lower body portion of cardio split, and a very short lower body blast. it was a total of 1 hr.

Hi ladies,

Just a quick check in. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and good thoughts. Surgery went quickly. I just hope they got enough this time. I'd really rather not do this again. I will either find out Friday or Monday. While this surgery should have been easier she seemed to be in more pain than last time. She did take a pain pill before she left hospital. She didn't take one last time. That was the only percocet. Is that spelled right? Anyway we didn't fill prescription so she only is taking tylenol now.

Of course Elliot was an angel today. When I got home she told me she was with her best friend Grandpa.

Joan

Good morning, Ladies.

Joan, glad to hear that things went okay. If the Tylenol is sufficient to manage your Mother's pain, then I'd say that's a very good thing. Still praying.

I am pretty sore this morning from yesterday's workout. I love it. Must mean that something's working. Taking a rest day today.

Everyone have a great day!

Hi everyone,

I haven't even looked at calendar to see what wo I am missing today.

Dil picked up Elliot at 4:30 and then I had to go over to their house at 5:15 to babysit while they went for ultrasound. They got back about 7:00. I was exhausted. I must have looked it too. Most people don't comment on my looks but they said I looked really tired. Duh.

We usually try to take a vacation around Halloween. I really need it this year but of course dh can't go. I may ask dil to have parents come and take care of Elliot for a few days. They usually won't unless it is unavoidable but I still might give it a try.

Hi, Everyone!

Did Disc 15 this morning, and loved it! I am feeling stronger, I think. There is a joke about our choir members that we avoid going to the gym by just carrying our bags of music to rehearsal. I would bet that my music weighs about 40 lbs. or so. Anyway, it was hard to handle until just recently, since I've been doing STS. Coincidence? I wonder?

Joan, you obviously need a break! I wish I could help you out with that. Maybe something will give and you will be able to get a few days off.

I hope everyone has a great evening and a terrific weekend.

Magnolia

Hi everyone,

Magnolia, I'm glad you like sts. I think meso 2 and 3 are my favorites.

I finished meso 1 tonight and also did Imax 3.

After all the modifying of Imax 3 I'm not sure I can do any of the Shock Cardio except the travel one.

The doctor did call today with the lab results. She did get enough this time. Now radiation in 3 weeks.

Hi Everyone!

I am back froim visiting my parents in the midwest. Colllllld! My STS plan fell apart again this week. I keep telling myself it doesn't matter because you always need the muscle confusion- which, when I start again tomorrow- my muscles will be very confused!

Joan! You sound tired! I am so glad all went well with your mom. You still managed to amaze me though with your double workouts when you are tired!

Magnolia- I was glad to see how much you like that program. I can so relate to that feeling that your are getting stronger- it is really working!! I think 3 was where I really saw it happen- but your can't skimp on the weights!

Cathy- your horses sound wonderful! Texas sounds like heaven to me!

Have a good evening:) Beth

Welcome back Beth,

Today was beautiful in St Louis. But back to the rain and cold Monday.

Meso 2 will probably start Monday for me. Tomorrow is another football game.
