Good morning,

I am so stiff from cleaning yesterday. We moved all the furniture and cleaned floors, windows, curtains, etc in living room and dining room.

Dh put up 2 Christmas trees. I know it's too early but I knew if I didn't get started I wouldn't bother this year. It will probably take me until Thanksgiving to get it decorated. Ds will be home from Portland Or for Thanksgiving so he won't be coming for Christmas. We will just combine the holidays.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. The weather is beautiful here.

Hi, Everyone!

Just got home from a wonderful weekend visiting our Franciscan Friar friend in Brockton, Mass. The weather was a little cool until today, but it was beautiful. On Saturday while he was working, we went to Plymouth, which is only about 30 minutes from where his friary is located. We took a great walking tour of the area, saw the Mayflower II and Plymouth Rock (they call it "The Pebble," it's really small!), we managed to walk to the street where some of the Pilgrims had lived. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time. Such an appropriate place to visit, considering we're approaching Thanksgiving.

I hope you all had a great weekend, & hope you have a great evening.

WOW!!! way cool, magnolia. i would love to see that part of the country. how incredible to see where our country started.

well, done nothin' this weekend and nothin' tomorrow , cuz i got my grandkids. i hurt my back doing plyo legs so i decided to rest it yesterday and used a hot pad for a while. then today was church, then family came for lunch, rode horses, and then time to get ready for bed w/the babies. and, i'm about ready for bed too. so, ttyl

Hi, Y'All!

Cathy, it is way cool! Plymouth is beautiful! I would definitely recommend it as a sight-seeing location, just don't expect anything of Plymouth Rock. It really is small. But the rest of the town is really worth spending a whole day on. There's a lot of sightseeing, very good restaurants and lots of shops. We couldn't spend as much time as we wanted, so we're planning to go back the next time we visit him, probably in the spring.

So tired today! Had to go to the grocery store for a few things, then I needed to get some laundry done. Taking a "jet lag" day, so back to STS tomorrow.

Have a great evening, everyone!

Magnolia

Hi ladies,

Magnolia I did disc 19 today. If I don't take a break between meso 2 and 3 I will be caught up. I decided to just delete exercises I couldn't get to and get on some kind of schedule.

I did input food plan into computer today and only ate a little over 1400 calories. I've gained 3lbs in the last month. My total weight loss for the year will have only been 5lbs.

Cathy I am trying the Kelly Coffey-Meyer 30 minute wo for lower body. I can't take the impact of plyo legs. The wo is actually closer to an hour but the premixes are 30 minutes.

Jann You're still in our thoughts and prayers.

Good Morning, Y'All!

I hope you are all well. Jann, you're still in our prayers, and we're hoping for the best. We miss you.

I just finished Disc 22. My shoulders & arms feel like butter! Anyway, got lots to do--working on my book review for the course. I think the workouts clear my mind and give me a good break from the work.

My DH's uncle passed away yesterday. He was 90 years old. I think he had a pretty good life. Anyway, don't know what the rest of the week will be like, since they haven't made definite plans for the funeral yet.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Magnolia

hi everyone, been awol. did not workout all weekend or monday. had the grandkids and we rode and were outside all day yesterday. today i did the firm's aerobic body shaping. and , man, i felt like my whole body was made of lead. don't get it. i took 3 days off and i am wore out. but, i did it. very tired tonite, gonna go to bed early, so ttyl

Hi ladies!
Thank you for your continued support and prayers -- they are very much appreciated. :D

We are now living in the hotel. They released him from the hospital yesterday. We will be going to the hospital as an out patient for the next few days. I am hopeful we will start the journey home on Friday.

His surgery went well. The myectomy was hard on his body and it has taken a while to get everything working again. He had to stay in ICU a bit longer than they expected. Once he was moved to the stepdown unit things moved along pretty well. Today he is doing OK. I just need to get him moving. It hurts to move and he has to walk.
The human body is amazing.

Hi Ladies!

:DSmiles to you Jann- Glad you are through the hardest part. I will continue to pray for you and your husband.

Joan, I have the same problem with the scheduling but I thought you had to take the break to make the program effective? This is my break week but so far I haven't done any cross training- I feel lazy. I started logging calories about two weeks ago then got distracted- it just takes so long to log things down (translation- its much faster just to eat them!) Duuhhh! Well a new day, so I will try again.

I ordered the insanity yesterday for something different in the cardio area. I will probably have to sell it because it will be too hard- but something to strive for anyway.

Magnolia, Plymouth does sound beautiful! I have never been that far north either.

Cathy, did you give up on the sts rotation?

Well, I am off to do drill max so I can do something on this down week-- Beth

Good Morning, Everyone!

Jann, so glad to hear from you! :D Glad things are going so well. You & your DH remain in my prayers.

I just finished Disc 23 Legs. I really love the tri-sets, but sometimes I have to take slightly longer in between because my heart rate really gets up there!

This is a tough week. Haven't heard about funeral plans for my DH's uncle yet, but probably will momentarily.

Got to get back on that book review. Hope all of you have a great evening.

Magnolia

jann, what is going on w/your hubby? i missed it

ironmom, no i completed 2 rounds of STS. just got burned out on the 2nd one, so am not gonna do it again for awhile.

did the firm's cardio core fusion today. great cardio and core work. lots of different moves.

Hi ladies,

Jann I can't imagine recuperating in a hotel. I'm sure you will be glad to get home.

Beth My break was the last 2 weeks. I just want to catch up with Magnolia.

Magnolia I'm sorry about uncle. I think we can all say if we get 90 pretty good years we will be happy. I'm really going for 120.

Hi Cathy.

I had just under 1400 calories Tuesday and did Step works. That was a new one for me.

Today was frustrating with lots of problems and I ate over 2100 calories.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Joan

Hi all Really quick here BUT I had to tell you all who I met today at the Cleveland Clinic Dr. Michael Roizen of the You books. He works here. I was a bit star struck. He was very nice to me. Only talked for a second but how cool!!

We are going to try to make our way home tomorrow. It's a 5 hour drive and because we have to stop every hour it will take all day. We have also agreed if Mark gets to tired we will find another hotel and do what we can.

I hope to be back home soon!!

i did super charged sculpting today. 40m. weight workout from the firm. had a busy day, so squeezed it in. tomorrow is another grandbaby day. :)
joan? did you like step works? i just can't get into the old workouts. the outfits are more than i can bear.LOL!

Hi Everyone!

Cathy (Drover) you can call me Beth (iron-mom) I created that name when my kids were all still at home and I was scrambling to work out around dropping them off at practices and so forth. Now, I kinda feel like rusty-iron-mom but thats too long.

Jann- that is way cool about meeting Dr. Roizen. That had to have made your day!

Joan- do you get tired of that armband? I keep thinking I want one and then I tell myself that I can do without- but I keep forgetting to write things down- speaking of living to 120- I did meals on wheels today with a woman from my church that swims an hour everyday (she had a hip replacemnt in May) and she is 82. As we were driving she was giving me a speech about the benefits of weight lifting--- it was great!

Magnolia, sorry about your uncle. I am so exited to see you excited about your sts program- you were on the fence about that for a long time!!

Well, happy Friday everyone-

Beth (rusty-iron-mom);)

Hi ladies,

Cathy I didn't mind step works. They were just in shorts so it wasn't too bad.

Beth I don't really mind the armband. I just forget to put it on. I don't always put it on until I get active or exercise. When I am working at my desk I don't bother to put it on. It estimates your calories used when not wearing it. I put it at 1400 calories a day when not moving. It forces me to move more when I am wearing it because I love to see the numbers go up. I also got the accessory so I could see calories and step.

Jann I've thought about you all day. I know when we drove fil home from heart surgery the 1 1/2 drive was way too long. I hope you are home safe now.

No wo yet but I still have plans to do something.

Joan

Hi, Everyone!

I just finished Disc 24. Had to put off until today, because DH's uncle's funeral was yesterday. My poor fil was absolutely distraught. He is the youngest of 4 brothers, the third of whom he buried yesterday. Having sung for many funerals, I can tell you that when older people pass away, many times only about 10 or 15 people will show up for the funeral. The place was packed yesterday, because there was not only his regular family, he also had very many friends for a man 90 years old. Anyway, it was almost an all day affair, a rainy, icky day at that.

It is still rainy and icky out there, but not as cool today. We are getting the remnants of that hurricane. It should clear up tomorrow, and be beautiful for most of my active rest week. Walking, here I come!

Jann, I hope you & DH get home safely. It always makes us feel better when we can sleep in our own beds at night. You're both still in my prayers.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Magnolia

Hi all -- thanks so much for your continued prayers. :D
We are home. It took us 7.5 hours  He did very well. Came home feel asleep then got up and went to bed. It was a very long day.

I did manage a workout this morning. I did theFirm ABS with Allie. I love her. I needed a full body weight workout that wouldn't kill me. It was a good choice. It has been a full month since I worked out. I really needed it.

I am hoping to get back to some type of normal. :)

Magnolia I am sorry about your DH's uncle. Even at 90 it is so sad. High-Fives on getting on with STS!!! Disc 24 woohoo! Did you like hypertrophy? That was my favorite.

Beth I was a bit star struck meeting Dr
Roizen. I wish I could have talked to him longer. He was on his way out.

Joan it was a VeryLongDay! We had to stop every 1 so he could walk around which made the trip that much longer. It's so nice to be home.

Cathy My husband had a Myectomy (they cut out a piece of his heart) and a double bypass on the 4th. Everything went well and we are now healing.
