50 and over week of March 7 check in

HI all -- I've been busy working outside again today. LOVE this weather!

I attempted to do Insanity Plyo cardio :confused: this morning I only got about 15 minutes and decided I am not ready for insanity -- yet. Oh yeah Beth those 1,2,3's :D:D:D The third round I actually was laughing at myself.

I jumped on the treadmill and got in a good jog.

Linda Life happens and family certainly is important. Prayers for you and your family.

Magnolia I LOVE spring! Hope next weeks settles down for ya!

Hi ladies,

I have looked at postings when I have a minute but haven't wanted to just keep posting that I was working. That is all I have done this week. Tomorrow I get a little time off to take my mother to the doctor. I thought work would slow down but no such luck.

I think I told you I bought the ebook last year Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. Since then I have received many additional ebooks free. The latest one is The Holy Grail Body Transformation Program. It has the clearest message that if you are significantly overweight, choose focused fat loss. Consider muscle gain or recomposition goals later. I will read this indepth later. Right now at least my belief that I should just try to lose weight seems right.

At Monday's weigh in I did not lose any weight but on Tuesday I was down the 2lbs I was down Thur or Fri of last week. I won't record it until I am down on Monday.

I have it Cathy. It's just a little 5 pound one. That little bell hurt my knuckles. I picked up my 8 pound dumbbell to finish workout. It's been a while since I've done the workout. If I remember I think it was OK.

Cathy, I don't have that particular workout. I really like the ones of hers I own, including the original "Steamin' Cardio" from the Anna Benson workouts. That one's killer tough.

Joan, I think there's a lot to the idea that we need to focus on losing fat, then working on building serious muscle. Since I wasn't having a lot of luck losing any weight on STS (or Chalene Extreme either), I think another approach is in order. So I am focusing on "healing my brain" and cardio or cardio plus weight workouts. When I can knock off some pounds, I'll start STS over again.

Today's another busy one. I am going to try to squeeze in something this afternoon. Have a good one, Y'all!

I took the Doctor's test also. It thought I had sleep apnea because of my answers. It didn't know I didn't get enough sleep due to work. I really think that makes it harder to lose weight and plan after April 15th to get at least 8 hours. Of course also suggested exercise. I watched him on PBS and know I am also vit D deficient. I increased that along with calcium after doctor and lab tests.

I did cathe's High Step Circuit this morning. First time I did this one and was happy that I had a total body workout.

It seems since I have been doing STS my hips increased by an inch (granted my eating wasn't the best), but during the last 2 years I find that I got the best results from AWT. I was amazed how the inches disappeared from my hips. My best results from STS is the muscle definition I can now see in my arms, so I'm happy with that. Just need to lose those last 10 lbs so all my hard work can be seen.

Cathy - I have all of Kelsie's workouts and like her, although I was not a fan of the kettlebell workout. I have small hands and was concerned that as my hands got moist I might accidently lose the kettlebell in the air and put a hole in the wall. Wearing weight lifting gloves helped. But I prefer to use dumbbells.

Well....need to pack and head off to Southern MD for a 5 day stay. I'm taking Cathe's 4DS DVD and do my scheduled workouts. My eating will be better because it wouldn't be polite to raid my sister's kitchen when I feel the urge to eat. :D

Good Morning. Rotation for today was tortoise so I did Complete Body Sculpting firm transfirmer one. I burned 250 calories very happy about that! I pulled out Kelsie's kettelbell and did some of it. The little bell is so small. I had my wo gloves on and it still bothered knuckles. :confused: I like the parts of the workout most when she wasn't using the bell. :rolleyes: I didn't finish the workout but I did ff through it. The workout is OK. Kelsie on the other hand is SMOKE'n!! :D

Linda sounds like a great way of keeping eating under control -- eat at someones else house!! :D

Joan Magnolia and Linda you are saying exactly what I starting doing. This is my second week. My rotation is Monday weights, Tuesday cardio, Wednesday AWT- hare, Thursday cardio, Friday AWT-tortoise, Saturday cardio. I've been mixing it up with all types of workouts. I am keeping Mondays for weights and hoping that with hare and tortoise workouts muscle memory will keep some muscle in place from doing CLX and STS. :)

It was a very busy day, so I also picked a short Kelsie workout -- Tight Buns & Killer Legs. It's a good one. Especially the floor jacks :eek:! Anyway, I was glad I did it, I felt better all day.

Man is it raining here! The creek behind my house is all over the place!
I jumped on the treadmill this morning for a about an hour. Can you believe while on the treadmill I got 3 phone calls and since I have been off -- none! :confused: It's like they know - :D

I did not make the River Run- I have a bad cold- yuk! It is in my chest- I hate it when your sick but you still want to work out, except not really..

Joan, when you get that burn the fat data digested, see if you can explain it to me in terms I understand- I have his books too but, I swear, they go on and on... I understand the theories but in the end, I think I already eat the fat buring way..

I took Dr. Amens test too. Not sure what to do next with that information.

I am not going to exercise for a while until I am over this cold!! Who is Kelsey?
