50 and over week of January 17 check in

Good morning,

I did MMA: Kickbox this morning. This is a fun workout.

I went snow shoeing in Hidden Valley PA. My sister owns a townhouse in the resort area. It was really fun.

I look bigger in pictures too. Don't know why either.
 
Good morning, Y'All.

I always heard the camera adds 10 lbs. I just assumed that meant a TV camera, not a still camera. Who knows? I know I look bigger in pictures, too.

Well, I got my 8 hours of sleep last night, and I do feel better today. :D I am going to try to do Step Forward--I didn't think that looked too ambitious. Anyway, I'll start it, and if I can't finish it, there's always next time.

Back again!

Wow! I actually did Step Forward! Well, actually I did it on the floor so I can learn it before I add the step (maybe next time). But I really loved it! I can be a real klutz, so I don't try to learn more than one step workout at a time. It's going to be my main cardio (except for maybe walking on a sunny day) until I get the moves.

Gotta go! Lots to do this afternoon!

Hi all.
I started my mix today. I did 1/2 of legs disc 9, then 2 segments of step forward (I like it too Magnolia), then TJ ABs. :D I feel great!
 
hmm, i just posted, but it is not here.
anyway, step forward is harder than ya thin, huh, magnolia? i used the 8" step and was sweating buckets.

so, had the grandkids fri-mon, so was worn out. then, had a bad attack of acid reflux monday nite, and thought i was gonna die. i was in bed most of the day yesterday, so today i doubled up. did SIM & JFbuns. now, i have a sore throat, feel like i'm gettin' sick.
my plan is to do dynamic strength and power if i can. i have not done it in a long time, cuz i hurt my back last time, so i'm gonna try, i think. will let you know how it goes. ok, now i am gonna go catch up on all the posts i've missed.
 
i know i have asked this before, but i can never find the answer. sorry , but how do ya'll put the firm and tracies workouts in the workout calendar? it is hard because i don't know if they are true interval. maybe they are. what do ya'll think. i put the 2 i did today in as cardio & weights. SIM , of course , has the med ball w/cardio and i went pretty heavy on the lower body segments.

I had plans to try and get 2 dvd's done today. But since I just finished work, I'm too tired to do anything.

Cathy I think you just put other dvd's in as either cardio or weights. It won't show the name but you can put that info in memo section.

I wasn't able to get into nutrition section tonight but at least I wrote down what I ate. I'm still keeping it low.

Second pulldown select Other or type of workout
Key in information you want
Tracie Step Forward
Time
Met
Calories burned
Select SAVE button

Sorry it's so big it's the only way I you can see the dates -- Look at the 20th.

It should appear like this on your Calendar

I just realized after all of that (picture printing) that was not your question - :eek::eek::eek: I guess that Green Tea energy I had kicked in a bit much this morning. :eek::eek::eek:
I have not entered all my DVD's into WM. I use "Other" mostly and put the name of the DVD in the description. I can then enter exactly how many calories etc... :)
 
Hi everyone,

Just got done with Disc 8. Again I had another great workout.

My husband starts his physical therapy for his shoulder today. I hope it's not too painful.

My mom is constantly on my mind....will be seeing her this weekend (my parents live 90 mins away from me). My younger sister has prepared a room for me to stay when things start getting really bad. I'm still in denial...my Mom wants me to attend the hospice meetings on Monday afternoons, but I don't want to go because I can't accept the fact that my mother is dying and I don't want to listen to them. I just want to grieve in my own way. My moods are up and down...one moment I'm fine and the next moment I am overwhelmed with sadness.

Anyway....I need to dress and get ready to walk some dogs.

I finished MMA Boxing. I liked it. The core part was tough for me. :confused: I guess the hardest things are the ones we need the most.

I really like Step Forward. Glad I read your posts about it. I don't like easy workouts, feel like I'm wasting my time. That one's challenging without being so totally exhausting that I have to take to the couch for the rest of the day.

Did not have time for a workout today, though, it's rehearsal day, and I had a lot of organization to do in preparation.

There has been some good news about DIL. She has been able to eat a little. That wasn't the case when we were there. She would try to eat, but a lot of the time, it would make her sick. DS said she felt well enough the other day to get out of the house for a little while.

Well, I have to go cook some food. Have to eat early on rehearsal nights. Have a great evening, all.

i'm sorry, jan. i didn't make myself clear. iknow how to do it. i just want to log them in correctly. i know that i put in cardio for cardio. but, i want it exact. :). like , for instance, today id did Dynamic Strength & Power. and , i logged it as hi impact cardio. but, it really isn't all hi impact. it seems more interval to me. i'm sorry i didn't make myself clear. so, jann, you seperate each part of your workout. i usually just log the cardio or wgts. that i do. am i making any sense? and, then you can't even use the cross-train thing on there. or, i cant, i can't get it to work. i would probaby log most of mine under cross-train. like, when you do an AWT firm workout. i don't think it is hi impact, and i don't consider it low impact either. it seems there is no exact way to log them. well, sorry to go on and on. just trying to clarify myself. thanks so much for you answer, i'm sorry i made you go to so much trouble.
 
jann, that is what lisa kay (the firm) told me once. the part you hate to work the most is probaby where you need it most. :)

i was surprised that dynamic strength & power was not as hard as i thought it was. i really like it alot. i may do it again tomorrow. i did half of it and then my dil and g/kids came in to surprise me for my b/day. :) they brought me balloons and tulips and took me to lunch. isn't that toooo sweet???? so, anyway, after they left, i did the rest of the workout, actually did some of the sections twice. so, it actually was probably 60m, rather than 45.
 
Happy Birthday Cathy! It was no problem. I read your post quickly and went into "fix it" mode. :D To enter a Cross Train icon you have to create that under WM - workouts, then you can select it to add it to your calendar. Was that your question?:)
 
hmmm, well, that might be what i need, jann. i don't understand what you mean "under WM -workouts" where is that?
