50 and over week of January 10 check in

Joan I found using Paint you have to make sure the part of the calendar you want is on your screen before you select the crop(square box) to get the full calendar and not all the stuff around it. Once you select the crop option you can't move what is in the work area of the screen. hth's :)

I guess that's why it is free.

It is late but I got it done.
First, Hiit before breakfast (ughhh)
Then oatmeal and egg whites
Work
salad
a pasta dish
Then Disc 4 (too many Push ups.. aaagh)
Then 2 miles on treadmill and some stretches

I'll take some of that energy too! Way to GO!!

Good morning,

I just did Hiit - 30/30 and Pilates-Inspired Abs. I did not really like 30/30...almost all jumping and had to modify just about everything. I couldn't wait for it to end. I did like the the warm up and the cool down. I enjoyed the ab work.

Well...got stuff to do around the house and then out to walk some dogs.

I finished 30/30. I do have to modify some but, I feel like I am doing pretty good with the workout. I have a shock absorb flooring and it really makes a difference. I burned 130 calories in 25 minutes, then I started it over putting the two risers under the step got up to, I think the 4th interval and had my 200 calories. I can not wait until the workout blender comes out. I am so so hoping that the reason Shock in not available for download until April is because they hope to have the blender ready. I can really see combining different parts of shock into a really good "doable" workout for me. :D I still can't lay on my back (stitches come out tomorrow :D) so I did Turbo Jam standing 10 minute abs.

On to housework....
Have a great day ladies!

Hi, Y'All.

Just did 30/30 and Pilates Abs. I really liked them both. I have enough experience with pilates so that I did not have to modify much, although it's been a little while. I had to modify a lot of 30/30 on the tougher exercises, but I managed to get my heart rate up there. I like the interval work--I always remember something Chalene said on one of her workouts--"I can do anything for 30 seconds!" (Well, almost!)

Well, I'm off to what seems to be the common pastime for today--housework.

Enjoy your day.

Hi everyone,

I did 30/30 but didn't really care for it. I can't really modify well enough to keep my heart rate up. I also want different music. I did like pilates abs better than some of the other ab wo.

Jann you may be right about the blender. There are parts of several of the wo if they could be put together I could do. The warm ups are pretty good also.

Joan

I really like the warm up on 30/30 with the 2 risers my heart rate got right back up. I don't know how accurate the blender will be for editing but I can see putting a whole new workout together with pieces of shock! :p

Good Morning.

Linda how is your husband doing?

Disc 5 done! My shoulders are still a bit ouchy from Monday's workout, so lifting today was a little tougher than normal. Sounds like I need to pull out the ol'Arnica. :)

I watched Cathe on QVC -- That guy with her kept cutting her off.. gesh Let the lady talk already. Plus I think he called her Catherine.

Good morning, everyone.

I tried to see Cathe on QVC, but evidently just missed her. Sounds like the host was unbelievably rude to her. There's just no understanding these people sometimes.

I am going to try to get in Disc 5 this afternoon, but I am feeling really rotten right now. I have a nasty, stubborn little sinus headache and just took some Advil. I am also very tired. If I don't manage to get to Disc 5 today, I'll do it tomorrow.

Have a great day, Ladies.

Hi ladies,

I just finished disc 5. I hate to admit that the hardest part was lifting my arms in the warm up. I was still sore from the last disc. I seem to be less sore now than when I started.

I'm hungry. I need to add some more vegetables in to fill me up. Or a piece of cake.

Magnolia Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Jann How is your husband doing?

We just started new year with high deductible ins plan. We have to pay the first $2700 before ins pays anything. I now know that dh's medicine (2) costs $133 per month. It's not as bad as it could be one of them is only $11.

Good Morning,

Just finished Cardio Core Circuit. I enjoyed this workout and modified as needed. I loved the music which helped make the workout fun.

My husband is doing as well as expected. He's still very sore...it doesn't help when the animals (the Siamese cat in particular) wants to climb up on the sore shoulder...the cat absolutely adores him. He has a doctor appt tomorrow to remove the stitches and then I guess physical therapy.

I'm still trying to control the eating...some days are good, others days are marginal but not too bad.

qvc

I just watched the video....it was ackward at first but it got better.. does anyone have the vest? I have a different brand and I never use it-- do you use it?

Mark is doing pretty good, thanks. They still have not gotten his meds straighten out. Some other people who have had a myectomy said it takes a while to figure out what meds he will need now. It really is trial and error.

:( Insurance -- it is so sad. Since I have retired it's unbelievable. I guess Joan you are self-insured? ugh.

I have the vest. I like it especially because I can't lift a real heavy barbell up on my shoulders. Adding the 10 pounds on my body makes lifting easier I don't have to put as much weight on the barbell. Also back when I first got it I would add it while doing push ups hoping it would make me stronger. I gave up on that one. It probably would work if I had given it more time.

I have a 20lb vest that is really uncomfortable. I'd like this vest but really shouldn't spend the money.

Insurance is through dh but it was really going to go up this year so we went this route. If we get over the $2700 we don't pay anything even co-pay. Co-pay just on the prescriptions was $55 per month. I hope with the tax savings on wages that he puts into Health Savings Account (HSA) $6950 and the cheaper insurance we might come out ahead.

No wo yet .

Cardio Core Circuit done except I did mostly my own variation with most of round 4. I enjoyed the music in the one too... when I was paying attention to it.:)

Linda glad to hear your husband is on the mend. :)

Hi, Y'All.

I took a rest day yesterday. I really felt icky, mostly tired. Much better today, so I did Disc 5 & weights were perfect.

Joan, I vote for the cake!!!!

I like the idea of the vest, too, because of the arthritis in my left shoulder. I stopped doing exercises holding a barbell on my shoulders a while back because it is just too uncomfortable. Maybe this would work better for me.

My challenge with food is the same it always is this time of the year--sugar cravings! I'm getting there!

Stay well, everyone & have a great day!
