Magnolia I agree I think I need to start STS. I can't seem to get going on anything else but cardio. I sure I hope I get power tower by end of the month.

Joan

WOW! it is almost the end of august. this summer has flown by. i wish it would just keep flyin, and get cooler. kids start school here tomorrow. unbelievable!
i started meso 3 today w/the first plyo legs cuz i needed a shorter workout today. man, it seemed harder this time. i just about passed out. mega puke factor. as a matter of fact i still feel kinda pukey. think i am gonna do shoulder, tris, and ? , can't think of the 3rd thing, anyway, gonna do it tomorrow, cuz i probably will only have 4 days to workout this week. have to work at a horse show friday & saturday, and don't think a workout is gonna happen those days, except for cleaning stalls, riding, and sweating to death.guess that will count.

Hi Ladies! I am home. What a week... we had a great time visiting family and seeing the sites. We managed to eat our way up the California coast. Oh the sour dough bread there is just too good! We started in San Jose the weather was nice then it was so cold in San Francisco then by the time we hit Sonoma I could thaw out. :p The micro climates up the coast are very weird. Glad to be home -- now I need to check out my rotation. I need cardio - did I mention the bread  ??

I'll have to find last weeks thread and see what you all have been up to.

Joan I hope those towers come in soon also. I plan to restart STS when we get STS cardio when ever that is. :)

wow, sounds like a great trip , jann. would love to be cold. :) yummy, i LOVE bread. one of my problems. do you live in california?

OWWW! gonna have sore shoulders, bi's & tri's tomorrow. i think i got the weight right this time in meso 3. very hard. barely made my 8 reps. i plan to be sore all over for the next month. and mah buns are feeling plyo legs from yesterday. actually, they are screaming at me.:)

Hi, Y'all.

Glad you're back, Jann. I read somewhere that at least sourdough bread doesn't raise blood sugar quite as much as other breads. I used to keep starter in my kitchen and make my own. I am a big-time bread addict (could growing up eating my Momma's biscuits have something to do with that? ;) ) Anyway, I love to bake and sometimes when I have time, it's a fun afternoon.

I finally got that paper turned in yesterday! YAY! :D Now only a big book review and one more paper and I'm finished with this particular course.

I substituted at two masses this morning, so I am using the money I earned to get the larger step and a set of slanted risers. We are going on vacation on Labor Day weekend--a cruise up the coast to Nova Scotia--so I might not start STS until I get back, I haven't quite decided yet. It's only a 4-day cruise, but I find that when I travel, I always need to give myself a "jet lag" day of rest afterwards.

Cathy, I think that work you're doing this weekend sounds like a workout to me! No wonder you're tired!

Joan, Beth & Tricia, hope you're having a great day.

Have a great afternoon, all.

Magnolia

Magnolia congrats on getting that paper done - I am sure it's a big ol'A!! :D I am normally not a big bread eater I do love the sour dough! And See's! Your cruise sounds like a lot of fun!!

Cathy I live in Maryland my DH's family is in California. We have had a very cool summer. It's just now getting hot.

Well I am having a jet lag day - :( I jumped on the treadmill for about 20 minutes I thought it would help me get in the mood then I started LIC and just could not get into it. I went out and mowed the grass and did laundry... I hope I feel more normal tomorrow.

Hello, everybody - I'm back from Bridal Shower weekend!! Jann, I'm glad you had safe and fun travels. We also had good flights on our trip and we had a wonderful time with my sister and family over the weekend. It was good for my little girl to get to be the only little grandchild around, she got some "one on one" with me and was the center of attention with her Gram and Pap for a while. (Aside from, ya know, the bride!!). The shower was a wonderful success - my sister really got me, too. She had a special shirt made up for me - it says "The Wedding Nazi" on it! I guess I run a tight ship!! (Especially when it's for my big Sis.)

So now it's back to work on the wedding countdown. I decided that I once again needed to enlist the help of my DH to whip me into shape, so he has devised an (evil?) exercise plan for the next 3-6 weeks. TONS of Cardio, planks, leg lifts on the pull up bar, more Cardio, push-ups, pilates, yoga, and yep, you guessed it - MORE CARDIO!

I keep meaning to check my measurements pre and post STS, but once I leave the computer, it leaves my mind! Oh, and I finally got to start reading the Abs Diet, so I'll let you know.....

WAY TO GO, MAGNOLIA! Glad you got that paper done, you must be SO happy!~
Cathy, have fun at the horse shows this weekend - I would love that! And I completely agree that it's gotta be a workout - low impact cardio, maybe? Or Endurance!

Hello to Beth, Joan, hope all is well! I'll let you all know how the new regime is going as we progress - tonight was 6 sets of 75 on the jump rope, then 5 minutes of running at Cardio Burn on treadmill. Walk up/down driveway to recover, then leg lifts on the pull-up bar!

I'm off to shower!

Hi, Y'all!

Tricia, was your DH ever a drill sgt.? Anyway, I admire your toughness! Keep it up, Girl!

I ordered my step & the risers today. Starting to get more excited & eager to start STS, but I know I really need the upcoming trip and the rest. It's going to be a very busy year with our choir & my course work.

I can't believe it's almost September! Our weather heated up about the end of July or the beginning of Aug. It gets nasty humid here. It gets humid in Georgia, too, but at least we don't have to feel like we're swimming through the air!

Hi, Joan, Jann, Cathy & Beth. I hope everyone has a great evening.

Magnolia

Good Evening, Ladies!

Magnolia, my DH wasn't a DI, but he is a Marine (anyone who knows the Marines knows there's no such thing as an Ex-Marine!). His grandfather was one at Parris Island, so I believe he get's it genetically!!

Today we did a similar circuit to yesterday. I did 5 minutes of warm -up on the treadmill, and then it was on to the jump rope for 6 sets of 75. Then I did 3-4 sets of squats on the rack at up to 180, mainly 160. (He is a bit crazy, isn't he?). From squats I moved on to facepulls, which are high rows on the Bowflex. Can't remember what weight those were, but I was glad to finish them!! And after that, it was jump on the treadmill for the incredibly taxing 5 minute run at Fat Burner level. (This is about halfway up the scale on our treadmill - yikes!). I thought I must be so out of shape because I was gasping and struggling. This is when he informed me that it was due more to all those squats and it's perfectly normal....Yeah. I finished my run, cooled down and after the kids went down, did the Abs Diet Quickstart Core Workout. (You can find that on Women's Health's website.) Its pretty basic, Crisscross/bicylce type move, then roll-ins on the ball, Back extension with a twist, Roll outs, Reverse crunch with ball between legs, and then Lateral Bend over the ball. Pretty nice ab workout.

And tomorrow, we send the twins for their first day of Pre-K. I hope they won't be too tired out from it!

I hope everyone's having a nice final week of August, I'll let you know what he throws at me tomorrow! Good night,

Hi Ladies,

Jann and Tricia glad you had great trips.

My week of watching calories and cardio didn't produce much in results. Monday I was either down 1/4 lb or too close to call. I almost feel like why bother but then I would weigh 200lbs. No wo yet this week.

Yea Magnolia glad you are done. I would rather do papers than book reports but that's just me.

Yesterday Elliot locked herself in her bedroom. They couldn't find the little thing you put in to open from the outside so ds broke the door down. Elliot didn't seem to be bothered by it but she did say that daddy broke the door and didn't fix it.

Cathy I really liked plyo legs-they really work.

Joan

Good morning!
Tricia “The Wedding Nazi” -- too funny. Sounds like your DH takes his responsibilities just as serious whipping you in shape! :D First day of school - How are you doing, Mom?

Cathy I don’t think I could handle the heat of Texas. I would love to visit the state though. It’s one I have not been to. When I worked I traveled a lot. I have been to 39 of our states.

Magnolia STS is a great program. The wait will be worth it. Have you heard that Chalene is coming out with an addon to CLX? It's suppose to be out soon.

Joan Hang in there! It will come off. (at least that’s my plan;)) . How’s your Mother doing?

Hey Beth!!

Just as I was getting to my workout yesterday my DS called and had car troubles.. so off to the rescue. I never got back in time to get one in. Back on track today!

Hi, Y'all!

Tricia, I do know what you mean about there being no such this as a former Marine. I have several friends who are Marines, one of whom is in his seventies. They're some of the toughest people I know, and definitely some of the best.

Jann, Chalene does have a new upgrade. I think there's a choice of the deluxe, which includes three new workouts and some goodies or the regular with just with workouts. I'm going to hang on to CLX, and maybe use it sometimes between STS.

It's been a nice August, but it has surely flown by. My friend who now lives in Mass. has been here on vacation the whole month, but is going back this Sunday. I'll really miss him, he's clever and lots of fun to be around. If you didn't know, you'd never guess he's a Franciscan Friar, just that he's an exceptionally nice gentleman. We visited him last May, and are planning another trip to see him in Nov., though, and as unreal as it seems, November is not that far away.

Hi, there, Joan, Beth & Cathy!

Hope you all have a great evening.

Magnolia

Good evening, ladies. I just wrapped up my workout and some wedding stuff. You know, now that I know I'm called the wedding Nazi I can't help but visualize Bailey from Grey's Anatomy! There was an episode when she had a snooty surgeon running all over the hospital trying to find "The guy they call the Nazi" and she just played along with him, too funny! We've got invitation issues, sigh...

But, I got a nice workout in tonight. The best thing about DH and his workouts is that they are quick and efficient! Strictly cardio today (oh, and Pull-ups!). Jumprope and running. That was me for today.

I'll have to pop back on tomorrow when I have more time, I gotta go shower now!

Tah, tah!

Hi everyone,

Tricia just reading your wo make me tired.

I did finally get low max in today.

My mother is doing fine except for the wait. The biopsy is tomorrow. Whatever they see on ultrasound and mammogram she can't even feel.

Tomorrow will be a fun day sitting in doctors office during Elliot's nap time.

Joan

Hi, Y'all.

Well, I was depressed today and it's no wonder since I didn't sleep very well last night. I always know that when I am not sleeping, part of the problem is that I haven't gotten enough exercise. It's a beautiful day out there today, sunny and pleasant, so I got outside and took a power walk in the sunshine. My favorite antidepressant.

Got to run, I need to shower before I go to my rehearsal tonight.

Have a great evening, everyone!

Magnoia

I certainly put my workout off today. I jumped on the treadmill for 35 minutes and did Powerfit chest and tris. At least it's done. :p

Hope your Mom is doing well Joan.

Magnolia, Chalene is creating some show for E tv.... I saw a tweet from her. I hate it when sleep just won't happen. Hope the walk helped. After you start STS I think you'll see CLX won't be a good fit. -imho- ;) You will be lifting heavy with STS and will need your cardio or rest days between.

Tricia I know that episode! I love Bailey she is my favorite one from that show!! funny!

hi ladies, sorry to be awol! and, yes, to everyone, i was sore for 3 days from plyo legs, i just did chest & back today, so i hope i can pick up a saddle tomorrow. i have to ride at a horse show fri. & sat. so, there will probably not be any workouts for me on those days. they are gonna be long and hard days. and, w/the heat, yuck! so, that is only 4 workouts for this week. i did fat blasting cardio today after disc 25. used 8" step and weight gloves for part of it. i was sweatin' like crazy. i may get in a short cardio in the morning, but i doubt is. so, ya'll have a good weekend, probably wont' be around til sunday.

jann, if you come to texas, come in the winter or very early spring. march is good. if we have a good wet winter, the wild flowers are beautiful in the spring. but, none for the last couple years, too dry. i don't do anything here in the summer. the zoo, or any kind of tourist thing we do in winter if possible. just toooo miserable in the summer. i don't know why anyone wants to come down here in the summer.

Good evening,

I did get wo in - Step Heat. I was surprised that I burned about 7 calories a minute during the wo. Yesterday it was only 5 calories a minute for Low Max. I'm not sure if it was the dvd or how much energy I put into it that made the difference.

Mother had the biopsy today. We were only gone for 3 hours. It didn't take that long but they want you there early and had to do another mammogram after. We won't have results until tomorrow or Monday. She had to ice area and I got tylenol but she said it didn't hurt yet.

Joan

Cathy Have a good show day! I used to live at horse shows when I was a kid. My Dad was the ring master. fun, fun, fun!!

Joan I am saying a prayer for your Mother.

Butt and Guts premix 1 done - well, except for some of that ball ab work. I still can not get to my side on that ball... my butt is just tooooo big  It felt tough while doing it so I think I'll be feeling it more later.
