Good Morning!

Today I did KPC, w/U and first 2 combos followed by S&H Biceps and Abs..love the S&H series!.. It's going into the 90's today and very humid..I keep remembering how I wished for this weather back in March when it was freezing! Now I am complaining about the heat!

Susan: too funny about the pikes! tell your husband he should try one! Regarding the new workouts, it depends on what you like. I ordered for the heavy weight training, probably won;t like the cardio as it sounds too high impact for me, but I can always sub something else, then do the weight part..I know some people are ordering for the cardio.

Kathy: thanks for the recipe! I happen to have some tilipia in the freezer, so I might try this. do you subscribe to EW magazine?

Rhonda: sounds like you had a great workout.. we are almost doing the new series, only with older workouts.. good for you for putting yoga in there too! A little Tony Horton for you as well!

Garance: well now you know you have to post that chicken recipe for us! plum sauce like youj get in the chinese food restaurants? I have a ton of that in the refrigerator! Poor Mr Kool! LOL

Melrose: glad to hear you like CTX.. you should like the new series too.

Josie: glad to hear you are feeling better. A marathon in January is a great goal .. High fives to you from all of us!

Have a great day all and Keep Cool!

Good Morning Deb and those to follow
It feels like its gonna be another hot one. I hate waking up sweaty. Ugh!
Deb: sounds like you had quite the workout this morning. Hope you had the AC on.
Kathy: What is EW magazine? I think I missed something.
Susan: II know what your saying about husband. I always have to watch when doing stretches because he sneaks up on me : )
Melrose: One of these days I'll have to get CTX.
Waving HI to Rhonda, Josie and Garance.~Linny~

Regards to all.

Haven't decided whether I will do SH Legs and Shoulders or cardio and one body part. I want to take Saturday off, so doing LS today, biceps tomorrow, and triceps on Friday makes sense.

It is already hot, hazy, and stale. In the Washington, D.C. area the air conditioning is always on. But that is what I get for being a "city girl."

Have been cleaning out a kitchen pantry. How did I accumulate all this stuff since last time? Amazing!!!!!!!! Later will probably vacuum, clean upstairs, and sort more school stuff in the "cool" basement. I need a vacation from my vacation!

Cathe should be publishing her July rotation within the next few days.

Take care,

Rhonda

Good Morning Ladies!

Last night I gave myself a high five for only getting a sugar free cherry kids ice at Rita's.:D Tonight's workout is Tracey's Step Sweatfest Part 1 + Sculpt Part 2. I'll add on shoulder pike pushups, pullups, chinups & extra sets for tris & bis. I'm starting to see some "good" results. Its mostly from my diet not from the exercising. In my diet, sometimes I like to mix in a vegetarian meal instead of eating meat all the time.

Its a hot one here today too! Very sticky.

Deb: I have a subscription to EW. Its a great magazine & the recipes are easy & full proof + there's an entire nutritional breakdown of all the recipes in the front of the mag. I love S&H series especially L&S. Haven't done it in ages. You had a great w/out today.

Linny: EW is short for Eating Well. Glad to hear your feeling better. Take it easy on your walk.

Melrose: CTX is another favorite of mine. I can't wait for the new series. I believe Cathe's starting to film sometime today. One can hope right?;)

Whoo Hoo Josie! This is wonderful news on your new goal. Go for it! I'll be rooting for you all the way. Good luck on your training. If need be, you can get some tips from Sarah. Forgot her username.

Rhonda: I believe you want to accomplish all of your cleaning in a hurry so you can have the rest of the summer to yourself!:7 You sound like me.

My eats today are:

M1: 2 waffles w/2 Tbsp Wonder pb. (Just couldn't down the oatmeal)
M2: oatmeal w/2 eggwhites + 1 whole egg + iced coffee
M3: same salad as yesterday from EW + peach
M4: chicken & broccoli, cauliflower & carrots w/flaxseed oil
M5: protein shake (b/c I'm doing cardio first I won't have time to digest another bigger than this)

Have a great/cool day! BBL, Kathy:D

Hi ladies--

Very sticky here in the Berkshires, but probably not as bad as in a city like New York or Washington--or poor Melrose, Houston. I had another restless night because of Kool and the warmth. Unfortunately, we cannot use an air conditioner because our home is post and beam and very porous wood, but since we live on the side of a mountain, it cools down nicely in the evenings, making things bearable. I think the weather is scheduled to break very soon--afternoon thunder storms--and then mid 70s to low 80s.

Deb, I'll try to remember to bring that recipe into my office tomorrow and post it for you.

I did LIC cardio timesaver (approx. 50 min.), and I was drenched at the end of that. It's really much easier with the breaks provided by the circuits. But it was just so muggy this morning I felt like I had lead in my shoes.

Tonight I'm just pulling out some leftover chili I froze awhile back. It's Nigella Lawson's chili, and boy is it yummy. It has chocolate in it, and I think that's what makes its flavors pop. I got the recipe from watching Regis and Kelly. Don't know if they still have the recipe at their website.

Have a great day everyone! I'll be doing some writing this afternoon.

Good Morning Friends!

I will be going to the gym here at work today and doing the elliptical for about 45 minutes. My back is back to normal
today, I was able to sleep all night without any pain.

Tonight I will do upper body work at home.

I work at UCLA and the weather is beautiful here, can't complain.

Susan, The workout on Saturdays consists of running on trails and doing hill workouts, we also stop and do push ups, ab work and stretching.

Kathy, This is going to be my 12th marathon and I know what to do.
The only problem with me is that I have to have a goal in order to start training seriously, otherwise I just get lazy.

Have a great day!

Josie

Hi Ladies: Well I only have one more day on prednisone. I quess I'm going to have to call MD again because I'm still gettting hives daily.
Last night was my first time in the lake since last break out of hives when in water. Well I was in the water more than 10 minutes and I got them back. This is such a pain and its embarrassing too. I have to cover up or people look at me like I have creeping crude.
I have to talk with HR right now and explain why I'm giving my notice.~Linny~

Linny,

I used to get hives due to stress. I'm sure that when you leave
your current situation it will get better.

I used to take Benadryl for the hives. Good luck!

Josie

RE: !

Hi, Lemoncustard!

Thanks for posting this for others. Just looking at it reminded me 1) of how yummy it is; and 2) why I had enough for three nights AND still leftovers to freeze. Now I'm looking forward to dinner!

RE: !

Happy Wednesday, All,

The weather here is sauna-like, as usual, except it's not quite as hot as years gone by, because it has rained every day for almost a month. Oh, well, winters here are beautiful.

I did the CTX tape last night as planned. Tonight, I hope to do IMAX 2.

However, I tripped going up a flight of stairs at work (not down, which might be understandable, but up), and fell pretty hard. I've worked here 22 years, and taken these stairs every day. This is a first. I hurt in about 5 places, especially my pride. Also, the stairs were coming from the tunnel (which is underneath practically all of downtown Houston) to my office building, so I was holding a 3-dollar Latte from Starbuck's, which spilled. That hurt, too!

If I feel better, I will try the IMAX 2 when I get home. Actually, it might be just what I need to work out the soreness and stiffness.

Have a great day!

Jen

Ok, thanks anyway Josie, but I must decline the invite, I know my limits. Just not quite a runner yet. Just can't jog more than 5 minutes yet. I will keep trying though. There is a fire road up here where I am in Sylmar that is 7 miles to the top. I have made it up 4 miles walking. The first mile and half is a killer but then it starts switching back and forth. I see lots of guys on trail bikes using it. The view of the valley is wonderful and I love going early in the mornings.

Gonna try the push pull workout I recorded from fit tv.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart.

hey susan, i did push/pull yesterday too, and cardio fusion today. i really like push/pull.

i have a question for all my over 50 friends. i have worn reebok for years and 3 months ago i got a pair of new balance. they killed my feet! so, i gave them to my sister cuz the lady at the new balance store said they didn't take returns. then i got a pair of reeboks and my feet are still killing me. so , i went to academy and got a new pair today. this is my 3rd pair in 3 months. i have never had problems with my feet and now they are hurting. it is really weird, the back of my heels hurt. and the ball on my right foot. have ya'll had any feet problems? i have plantair faceitis but i wear orthotics for that, and that part of my heel is not hurting, thank the LORD, but my feet are really hurting after my workouts. anyway, any ideas what i could do?
thanks , cathy

I have had plantair faceitis in both feet. It took two years to go away.

I swear by Ryka's. Two days ago ordered a new pair on-line.

Check with whoever made the orthodics. Maybe they need to be adjusted.

As much as possible, stay off of them for a few days. Go swimming or water running instead. Focus on upper body. Do lower body floor workouts. Take some Advil or the like.

Try a foot bath.
