Good Morning All!

Today was S&H back with the All Blasts pre-mix of Low Max.. Going to get to 90 today! very hot and humid..I did pre-order the new workouts, since it looks like there will be a lot of good pre-mixes.

Susan D: Welcome! We like to have new input here. You sound like me.. I have 2 wire fox terriers, and a parrot! I am with you on the step workouts as well, love Gin Miller, have a hard time with Cathe's. I usually find she is too fast for me and doesn't repeat as much as I would like. I guess everyone is different..Right now I am doing a rotation with Slow & Heavy, doing about 20-25 minutes of cardio, then one body part from the S&H dvd. I really like this way of doing weights, with a minute between sets etc.

Kathy H: nice to see you post your food for the day.. you are our resident "clean eating person" that we all want to be! Do you record your calories etc in Fitday or somewhere? Can you share the recipe with the fish in the foil w/vegs? sounds good and I need to eat more fish.

Josie: sorry to hear about your back.. you really need to take a break now or it will not heal and it will just keep you down longer. Take if from someone that has been there!

Garance: I think I will check out that Step Heat workout as well.. sounds more like what I am used to in step, plus I always like differnet ab sections. I think you are ok to splurge on the ice cream one time, it probably won;t effect your weight, but only once!

Melrose: Good for you for doing the whole PUB! I have not done that in a while, usually do just the pyramid up pre-mixes.

Rhonda: sounds like we are doing a similar rotation, with one body part per day and some cardio..Kudos to you on fitting into size 10! I am a 12 and was pushing 14 which is what made me really get serious on the workouts.. now the food is another story!

Linny: I bet those hives disappear when you quit that job. Your health is too important so do what you have to do.

I tried a core workout from fit tv with the ball. By the time I got into position they were on to the next move LOL. Hubby said if I ever got in that pike position (or whatever it is called) he was going to creep up on me. I recorded another one I am going to try tonight. So far I have 4 of her workouts recorded and will mix them in with Jari Love's. I did Jari's Slim and lean and have treadmill to do this evening.

Still trying to decide if I should order the presale. I bought some bowflex select tec dumbells this month and if the pre sale lasts till the end of next month I will probably get it. Hate to put to much on the credit card at one time and I want to order some of her other beginner stuff at the same time.

Deb: I no longer track my cals in Fitday. I found it to be quite cumbersome. EW mag has the entire breakdown of recipes in the front of the mag. The recipe in EW magazine called originally for tilapia but I used mahi mahi instead. My family prefers this fish. The recipe is: Place in large bowl 2 yellow squashes (diced), 1 cup green beans, 1 cup grape tomatoes, 1/2 red onion (chopped), lemon juice, capers, oregano, chopped black olives & EVOO. On 2 20" sheets of tinfoil place the fish & salt & pepper the fillets, then place all the veggies in the bowl on top of the fish. Bring the 2 long ends up to the top & fold & then fold in the other 2 sides. Prick w/fork to allow them to steam. Place onto the grill & in 15 min. its done! It was delish!

Last night was Tracey's 19" lower body blast (got my legs toasty) from Cardio Sweatfest + part 1 of Sculpt Sweatfest. I had to use my 5# ankle weights + a 10# db for my outer thighs. Made the mistake of leaving the ankle weights on when doing core work. Oy! Her core work is killer!}( I also decided to try her Step Sweatfest the dancey part. Oy again! She sent me a demo dvd. I couldn't for the life of me get one part. I'm giving up on her fast. She's just too complex for me.x(

My eats today are:

M1: Kashi high protein, high fiber cereal w/blueberries & Rice Dream milk (I don't drink cow's milk anymore)
M2: oatmeal w/flaxseed + 3 eggwhite omelette + iced coffee (w/Stevia)
M3: EW's salad from yesterday + peach
M4: grilled chicken + broccoli, cauliflower & carrots w/flaxseed oil
M5: steak & purple potato salad from EW magazine

Probably won't get in a workout tonight as DH has someone coming over. Argh!

Josie: Does your back feel any better today? I'm sorry this happened to you. I've been there so many times I know what your going through.:-( Feel better.

Rhonda: Congrats on your loss. That's great news.

Linny: I'm glad you made the right decision to resign. Something is definitely better for you. You'll find it.

Tonight my son wants me to take him to Rita's for a SHAKE of all things! Wish me luck that I don't get anything. :7

Anyone who's on the fence about buying the new dvds should defintely buy them. There's going to be many different ways to work this as well as it being time efficient getting down to business quickly. That's why I didn't hesitate.

Doing CTX 10 10 10, Chest from SH, and Yoga.

It is supposed to be in the 90's today. Sounds like a good day for indoor activities in the basement. Been cleaning and organizing materials so I know what types of curriculum items to develop for next year. This is my time to get organized for the next school year.
The only good thing about massive housecleaning and re-organizing is getting done.

Subscribed to More Magazine. Found the web site interesting, although it has been along time since I have been in the "dating" scene. However there are other things that seem relevant to me.

I find it hard to respond individually, especially as the group grows. What is the secret? Do you open Word to compose your response and keep referring back to the Cathe site? Do you have photographic memories?

If you go to the Rita's web site, they have nutrition information. I usually get a kids size ice which is only a couple of Weight Watchers Points. And what is "EW Magazine?"

Hi Rhonda, Kathy, Susan, and Deb--

I didn't gain any weight from my soft serve binge the other night, but now my husband wants to know what new confection I will make for him. I'm going to look into the sorbet and frozen yoghurt recipes and make them with Splenda.

I made a really tasty South Beach recipe last night--from the summer cookbook. Grilled chicken with a plum sauce. MMMMM! Kathy, that fish recipe looks made for me.

Today I did Gymn Style Back, Shoulders, Biceps. I will do some cardio tomorrow, but I haven't made up my mind which one.

Rhonda, I don't think you will be disappointed with More. They have many health and exercise related articles in addition to fluff-stuff, and a lot of personal stories from women over forty trying to live to the fullest.

Hope our bull, Mr. Kool, stops bawling at night. Problem: two horny heifers, and Kool has to wait another week before he can join any of the ladies. It sounds like Jurassic Park with T-Rex sometimes. Sigh!
 
Hi, I am on lunch hour and came home to let the dogs out, since it is so hot here and we don't have AC.

Regarding answering all the individual posts... I open 2 internet sessions, then sign in on one for posting and pop back and forth to the other to read! I tried the word document one but that took too long!

Rhonda: I should add 10-10-10 into my rotation. I personally think that's the best cardio in that series. I've done the CTX's too many times to count I think I wore out the tapes.:7 I usually jot down my responses to everyone on paper. EW stands for Eating Well. Thanks for the tip re Rita's. I'll check it out.

Garance: Good job on not gaining any weight from the ice cream. I wish that would happen to me.x( Look what you started though w/DH. Now he'll be expecting you to make ice cream every week!}( Your grilled chicken w/plum sauce sounds DELISH. Hope you survive another 2 weeks w/Mr. Kool. Too funny! Kathy
 
Happy Tuesday, All,

Last night, I did Christi Taylor's Solid Gold Step. She never leaves me gasping, just mentally exhausted from trying to keep up with her. I'm glad her later stuff has become less complex, but from what I read on the Video Fitness web site, I'm in the minority.

Tonight, I'm doing CTX Power Circuit, the one with Back and Abs.

Hi Ladies,

I'm feeling beter today and I'm wearing flats to work. I miss my stilettos! I think that's what got my back in touble.

I will try to walk 3 miles this evening. Wish me luck!

Susan, I live in Westchester near LMU. Maybe one of these days you can come down and join us on our Saturday workout.

I almost forgot! I decided to do the OC Marathon here in LA.
It will be January 6, 2008. Now I have a goal.

Thanks Josie, I think I have been to Westchester one time several years ago. Is that where one of the LAPD training facilities is?

What kind of workouts do you do on Sat. If it is running, then I am good for about 5 minutes tops LOL
