Good Morning All!

Actually slept until the alarm rang this morning ( 4:40 am), which I have not done for months! Dogs kept quiet until then I suppose.

Linny: It seems like we are all in the same boat with the weight situation.. at least you have set a goal and are working towards it! Good shopping! ( and one little piece of cake won;t set you back!)

Melrose: Thanks so much for reminding me about that modification for static lunges! I had heard this before but forgot about it.. how high do you put the step to do this? Good for you on taking that challenge with the difficult step workout! I hate step when I am flailing around not following the workout! That is why I have very few Cathe step workouts! too hard for this small brain!

Kathy H: I believe I am in "real" menopause. Have not had a period in about 4 years.. still have the weight issue though.. very few hot flashes and night sweats have disappeared, thank God! Thanks for the details on Squeeze.. everyone is really interested in this one! I have the BFFM E-Book... not sure what you mean that "Ton Venuto already has it tracked" ? I need to go back and review the book for what you mean by Phase 1 and Phase 3.. I would love to cook everything on Sunday for the week.. less temptations when you are tired and hungary after work. What do you make?

Garance: I would love to have a big open place for animals etc. I have been a "city girl" my whole life.. never even lived in a suburb, let alone on a farm! MM is a tough workout, I usually do the pre-mix as well. I didn't see the thread on Kimberly Spreen.. is it weight work or cardio?

Josie: we are going to start calling you our littlke "gazelle"! Wow! 5.5 miles is amazing! Keep us posting on the marathon you find and your training! you are awesome!

Rhonda: I give you credit for sticking with the whole MIS workout! I have this DVD and never use it, because I dread the length..45-50 minutes is my best time, after that I feel like I am pushing into "injury zone".. not where I want to be. You are with us at the 155 mark as well! This must be the signature "menopause weight number"!.. and stop rubbing it in on the countdown to your summer off! we are all jealous! Another Squeeze fanatic coming up!

Have a great day!

Deb

Good Morning Ladies!

Last night I did Drill Max premix ub + cardio. What a waste on ub work! It was mostly cardio. Disappointed should've done MM instead.x(

Deb: In BFFM ebook in the Appendix section pgs 336-338 Tom lists 3 different phases w/everything tracked. Its Phases 1 & 3 that I do. I eat exactly as he states but some weeks I'll eat steak everyday for Meal #3 instead of chicken. There's just so much chicken one can eat!:7 Quite frankly I'm stumped as to why you haven't lost the weight. Have you tried increasing your w/out time & intensity of the w/outs? How often do you eat & how much? If your undereating, you won't lose any weight you might even gain. This is what I found to be true. Once I started eating Phases 1 & 3 I was amazed as to how far I had gotten down in weight & bodyfat. I think Linny may have to do the same. Its just a suggestion. I hope you don't mind me "butting" in. The planning, shopping, cooking are a bit daunting at first but once you get the hang of it, it becomes like 2nd nature.

Melrose: I'll use the step tonight when I do those dreaded lunges. Thx for the reminder!:D The only step instructor that I can do is Cathe. I've tried so many other instructors, its ridiculous. They just don't break the moves down at all. I LOVE Step Blast its my favorite!

Garance: I'm soooo jealous of you living on a farm in the Berkshires no less!!!! Absolutely GORGEOUS country! You'll LOVE Kimberly Spreen. I have all of her dvds but my new favorite is her latest one. Try the Combat Interval premix using a bodybar. Its unique & fun!

Josie the Gazelle: You already know how much I admire you for running. A true athlete in every sense of the word. Just go w/the marathon that you'd enjoy the most.

Rhonda: I NEVER do MIS anymore its just too old & boring. Don't you find that when you do an "older" w/o that its quite easy? I need to weed out my collection & get rid of all the old w/outs that I no longer do. You too w/enjoy Squeeze & Kimberly Spreen. I can't wait for you to receive it to find out what you think of it.

Tonight I'll be doing legs my own w/o + adding on Custom Squeeze. It'll be 4 sets/25 reps of squats (60# bb), plies (60# bb), lunges (20# dbs), firewalkers (red band) + Custom. Not sure how long this will run me. If it gets too long, I'll have to ditch Custom. Wish me luck!

Have a wonderful day! Kathy

Hi, everyone!

I did the step combos premix on Lowmax this morning. I stayed up too late last night with friends drinking wine and it was almost impossible for me to drag myself out of bed this morning.

I do live in an incredibly beautiful area, and today is absolutely glorious. Unfortunately, though, we have lost so many cats to coyotes that we just don't want to have them anymore. It just breaks your heart when they disappear. We're still thinking about a dog again. Our 15 year old fellow died in the fall, and my husband just doesn't know if he wants to go through the whole training process again with an inground perimeter fence that permits a dog a lot of running space on our farm.

Kathy, I bought KickBox Boot Camp, Cardio Camp, and Absolute Kickboxing. Are they good?

I thought I saw a downward tremor on the scale this morning, but I'm probably just trying to cheer myself up.

Tomorrow I think I will do Supersets upper body premix (59 min.)

Hi Ladies,

I'm not sure a Gazelle would discribe me at this time. I'm more like a Clysdale at this time. I have a long way to go.

Today I will be spinning and maybe I will stay for the yoga class.

Josie

Hi Garance & Josie!

Garance: Your going to love all of Kimberly's w/os. The Cardio Camp has 2 different w/os on it 30 min. of kbing & 30 min. of hi-lo. I'm partial to her new one Absolute just b/c of the unique ways she uses the bodybar. Just be careful not to whack your legs w/the bodybar! You'll know what I mean when you do it.;)

Josie: i'm still calling you Gazelle even if you think your a Clysdale!:+ NOT! I miss spinning. Its great for your legs. Enjoy!

Love Supersets too.

Kathy:D

Hi, All,

Garance, that's weird - I, too, am planning to do Supersets tomorrow - gonna try it straight through because I bought it when it first came out, so it's VHS.

fox2star - I never use more than 2 risers, and sometimes not even that, when lunging onto the step. I may have significantly decreased the pain in my knees, but I don't want it coming back!

Well, I attempted Part 2 of Step Heaven yesterday, and, about halfway through, had to kick the step out of the way and do it on the floor. I seem to have some kind of mind block when it comes to doing Christi when the step is in the vertical position. I was stumbling around so much that I figured I'd better come off the step before I messed up an ankle.

Today is my scheduled rest day - well, it's my get home from work, get the trash and recycle out to the curb, fold a week's worth of laundry, and chase around a 2-year-old grandson and his baby brother while their parents rehearse at church for choir/orchestra day. Wait a minute, where's the rest? Actually, I do usually end up taking one other rest day in the week, because Thursdays tend to be pretty strenuous, if unstructured!

Houston feels like a mosquito-infested sauna this time of year. Until you hear differently, just assume it's this way every day. Things may begin to change in October.

Hi, Melrose--

You know, I never could get the second section of Step Heaven and I ultimately sold it at Ebay. The other step Christis I did master, but never Step Heaven, part 2. So good luck on that one! Let me know if you emerge triumphant.

It's clear as a bell and 70 degrees here. Tomorrow, though, it is supposed to go up to 87 and get humid. Nothing, I'm sure like Houston in the summer, though.

70 degrees in June - sigh.

Wanders off, repeating under breath ``Must not be jealous of Garance, must not be jealous of Garance . . .''
