Hello All,

Sorry I did not start the weekend thread yesterday.. DH and I had a lot of errands to run and I just forgot!x( Anyway, I will start today saying that I am doing another week of Pure Stregth with I-Treads for cardio interspersed between them. This is the kind of series I like.. no fancy footwork, no impact, no different gadgets like bands... just "pure" weight lifting, no nonsense!

I hope you are not getting hit too hard with Dean.. we looked on a weather type map and it looks like it will be the worst over Cancun/Cozumel on Tuesday, and getting lighter after that.

Sorry to hear about your dog. They give us so much and ask for so little. If only they could be with us longer...;( . My little guy is going to be 11 next month. I hope this is something that will be able to be cured with the short session of steroids. I know they can do wonders for some types of injuries, as they worked very well on my female who had a nerve type injury from doing agility. They worked well on that but we had to give her mega doses and she ended up with liver and kidney problems. She is better now but I think in the end this is what will be her downfall. On a brighter note...on the Dance show.. how did the guy from Buffalo do? I tried looking up on the internet on Fox, but they only talked about the winner, no others.

Yummm Mexican food is one of my favorites too:9 ..we went for Mexican for dinner yesterday. Regarding the I-Train's, they are music with someone talking you through the workout.. they are very motivational for me. You are able to continue to challange yourself with each workout, depending on where you are when you start. Do you run on a treadmill or always outside? They have both but for outside you would need an MP3 player. They have it so you can listen to them but only for a tiny bit. Just find the one that looks interesting then click on the little icon of the speaker to the left of the workout.

Here is a description they give for a 35 minute interval run:

Interval, intervals and more intervals!! 35 minutes of calorie-burning treading. Grace will give you 3 different levels of running and jogging. This interval workout will take your pace from high to low, creating a high intensity peak to low intensity recovery run. This workout is flat, fast and fat burning!!! Combine this workout with iClimbintervals or iCycleintervals for the ultimate hour of power!!

Hi Deb and any later posters--

I did Step, Jump, and Pump, but minus about half of the jumping. I love the Step routine on this one--one mini-combo after another and then throw it away, no time to get bored.

Sorry Deb, I just don't remember where the dancers were from. Was Danny, the other finalist, from Buffalo?

Went to see the new Werner Herzog film yesterday--Rescue Dawn. It is based on a true story about a navy pilot, Dieter Dengler, who is captured in Laos during the Viet Nam war, and manages to escape and get picked up after a gruelling time in the jungle. It was harrowing and thrilling. A strong recommend if it comes your way. Christian Bale looked like he lost about 50 pounds over the course of making the film--really emaciated.

Bought some fun clogs (red brocade with gold embroidery) today, and a new pair of jeans in a dark grey. Was really looking for a little black knit dress to roll up and throw in a suitcase for a trip to a conference the end of October. I tried on this dress that looked really chic on the hanger, but it's some newfangled style called a "bubble," and the bubble just looked like part of the hem got caught somewhere upstairs--on a garter or something. Yuck! What's next on the fashion front??

Deb thanks for the info on the I-Tread. Can I use these for spinning? I'm not a runner(hurts my shins). I've gained so much weight I don't think I could run if I tried. I was looking at the side effects of the meds I take and one has weight gain and increased appetite for sweets. Just what I needx( I've gained 10 pds last month. I'm cutting down on my evening meds and hopefully I won't have a reaction.

Just came back from the movies. Saw Invasion with Nicole Kidman, don't waste your money,wait till it comes out on dvd and rent it.

garance, I'm with you on those bubble dresses. They're unflattering even on the anorexic models and actresses.

I didn't work out yesterday. My son-in-law (named Dean) decided he needed to buy plywood to have on hand to board up his windows in case Hurricane Dean came this way (this was yesterday morning, before they changed the forecast). My husband went with him to buy the plywood, then they measured and cut it for most of the afternoon.

I went to their house with DH, and helped my daughter with the 2 little ones.

Today, I did Push/Pull. I love the music. I don't love getting up and down off the floor over and over again. I just can't do it as fast as Cathe, so had to hit the pause button a lot!

Today I did a Spreen Kick Box workout.

The car is loaded and I go off to work tomorrow. It certainly has been a short summer for me. Working will be a shock to my system.

I hate weight gain. One goal for me will be to deal with stress without eating......thank goodness I cannot blame medication.....just eating......I am resolved to go to Weight Watchers once a month for weigh in....
