50 and over Month of May

Beth I'm just counting calories. I love myfitnesspal. It seems to have even the oddest food like my hcg diet approved meal replacement shake in it's calories list. I aim for 1200 calories and end up with about 1400 calories. I am losing a little less than 1/2lb per week. If I could only get to exercising it would be a little more. Of course I am still just losing the weight I gained on vacation.

I still love my fitbit but it's not making me move more. At least I can see why I am not losing more. I'm just not burning enough calories.

I'm thinking of just doing upper body. I hate doing lower body even though I need it there the most. I seem to put off everything if lower body is next in the rotation. I agree barre or floor exercises work best for me. Although I did get Brazil Butt Lift out of the closet and may try that rotation with Cathe upper body. I am much better at thinking about rotations instead of doing them.

Hi, Y'All!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I think my neck and shoulders are better, so yesterday, for no particular reason I can imagine, I started having back pain! I tried a stretch, but it did not help. I have been icing it, though, and it does seem somewhat better. Maybe I will just not tell the chiropractor! He's a very nice person, but I just have other stuff I need to do now!

Joan, you read some article about people in their 70s not being able to lift much weight? I saw my new inspiration the other day. A lady named Ernestine Shepard is listed in the Guiness Book of World Records as the oldest female body builder at age 74! This lady looks amazing! If she can do it, we can give it a try! (And she never worked out until she was 56 years old, either!)

Take care and have a great evening!

Magnolia, I have read that even people in their 90's benefit with lifting. Why if I know this don't I do more?

Had a good holiday. It has been so hot here. I wish I had taken pictures before most of my clemantis finished blooming.

Good afternoon,

I babysat today because dil had a job interview. It seemed to go well. I don't know if I told you she had lost her job.

I'm redoing my weight loss goals. I was 176.4lb on Sunday. I have gotten down to almost 160lb several times but only when I did a starvation diet and then I gained the weight back quickly. I seemed to be losing about 1/2lb per week now. With that I could be down to 135lb by Dec of 2013. It seems terribly slow but I have dieted for more years than that with no results. I have gone out to eat 1 to 3 time each week and have picked acceptable foods each time. Not completely diet but kept calories down the rest of the day.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.
