5 disc dvd player

Hi all,
After weeks of deliberation I finally broke down and bought a 5 disc dvd player. Last night my DH hooked it up and we spent about an hour trying to figure out how to program it!! It needs to be set up by title and chapter. Does anyone know how to find the title and chapter #'s on Cathe's dvds? I called customer service for Sony ( I got a Sony DVPNC85H) and they could not help me. I'm wondering if I bought a dvd player that just plays 5 discs but doesn't program Cathes dvds. Also, I don't think it programs disc to disc but the Sony guy says it does. But then he couldn't tell me how. I am soooo confused!! Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Deanie:)

Hi, Deanie! Congrats on your new 5-disker!

I have a Sony Fossil circa 2002, and I never ever learned how to program within or across Cathe workouts like its unintelligible manual said I could.

Here's what I do instead:

I load in all the discs for the mish-moshes I want to do;

I then start with the first disc, advance with the chapter skip feature (on my Sony that's simply the "Next" button), start actually playing the disc where I want it to begin, and then quickly hit "STOP" or the DISC-skip button to advance to the next disc. I do the same thing with the next disc and the disc after that, and so on. Your Sony will "remember" where it left off with each disc (actually, it "remembers" the point on each disc for several days), so once you get back to Disc 1 and hit "Play", you're off to the races, only having to disc-skip now without wasting any time.

Does this make sense? I know it's not quite how they say you can do it in the Rulebook, but I think Sony's how-to manual was written by a 12-year-old Korean computer geek on meth.

Thanks guys, I will try A-Jocks method today. I bought the dvd player specifically for the mish moshes. I am hooked on them:)!I am not very technical and my DH is, he usually reads the manual, explains it to me and we are off. I knew we were in trouble when even he couldn't figure out the manual.}(

eta: thanks so much for the link- my printer is going to be very busy the next few minutes!!:)

You can program across discs. Part of the programming process is to define which disc you want to program for each track. One thing to note, it does take some time to rotate from disc 1 to disc 2 and then read the next disc to the appropriate track. I have found it useful to do cardio from disc 1, abs from disc 2, and stretch from disc 1 (or 3).

Thanks again all. I tried this today and it worked!! I can't wait to do some mish moshes now!!

I also have a 5-disc DVD player and you can definitely program a workout from all 5 discs, but it is time consuming. Follow the link above for the programs listed, but it doesn't look like all the DVDs are listed. You can actually sit down with your DVD player and make your own list, which would also be very very time consuming, by hitting the next button on your remote and writing this all down as you go.
