40th Birthday Idea

A good friend turned 40 today. She is a runner who inspires many of her friends to run. She is the kind of friend who is always there no matter what, with exactly what you need.

A group of us gathered and met her on her morning run at 7:30 this morning to surprise her. We ran with pink feather boas as a large group. We laughed and talked the whole run. It was so much fun!

After we ate a breakfast that we all prepared by everyone bringing one thing. Our friend said it was the best present ever!

I read this idea in Runner's World a few months ago (The group ran a 5K together in the article).

If you are looking for something easy to plan and very fun and meaningful, I highly recommend this idea!

We all did look pretty silly! It was so much fun, though!

One thing that I was surprised about was that I have been "training" for this on my treadmill (3 and 4 miles with incline between 5 and 7 mph). This was a 2 mile slow jog. I did the first mile easily and then when we turned around to head back, we were into the wind and I almost didn't finish and my legs were hurting!

I guess the road is different from the treadmill!
