40s - week of 9/11/11

I did SM today (Ronne you inspired me). I will have lunch with my GF then I'm going to work from home since it seems everyone else is (boss is still out of town).

Ronne, AS is harder! I really like workouts at around 45 min, 30 min is too short and 60 min is too long sometimes.

Better get some work done since I'll be goofing off the rest of the day (ssssssh! don't tell anyone!)

I have AS on download, I think I like it, but dl don't play well I haven't done it often. I am sticking to DVDs. What is SM? Can't think....

I did SH chest and left house this morn with a nice pump going on in the pecs. : ) No way I will get to any more w/o today but I'd have liked to get back and abs done too. I am in lull between stuff and having coffee and cathe boards fix. I also had kale banana almond milk smoothie.

Yeah, Mary, how is the hand?

Hugs and regards to all. Lisa, enjoy your afternoon from home.

Good Afternoon,

Busy day today haven't had a chance to even look at the computer. This morning DD and I tried to go for a walk went 1 mile then it started raining. Tonite I think we are going to try and finish our walk if not then I am going to do LM step only 30 pushups and 200 crunches.

Jody-fortunately we have a company do our paychecks but there was a time here this summer when the bank wouldn't take it because its the same bank the company uses and there was no money in their acct. to cover it. They put the boss back in the hospital but my co-worker got on his wife to pay some bills. SM is Stretch Max.

Lisa-I won't tell anyone.

First off, SM is Step Moves in my book, I've never done Stretch max (I'm not limber at all)

Jody, I bet those babies were pumped up!

Had a nice LONG lunch with my GF (good thing since the morning at work was crazy). she got me a book with all the pics from all our hikes this summer, it means so much to me! I could almost cry over how sweet this was of her. Between her and you all, you keep me sane and happy!

Roxie, I hope things work out at the office and hope your boss gets better soon!

Hi girls! Another long day! Did 3 miles on TM, intervals and hill climbs. The hand is much better, thanks for thinking of me! But now, my hip is hurting again. I wonder what that is about? I'm trying to avoid it! Lisa, love lunch with my friends! Doesn't happen too often tho! Jody, you sound like a good eater! I wish I was! Roxie, that sounds scary about your paycheck. Hopefully he will have enough sense to put someone else in charge. We put our own roof on a few years ago. Don't think I would do that again! Ronne, I have never heard of that movie. Who is in it? I have never done AS or SM, I have watched them a couple timesntho! Where are you Murphy? Well, I better get to dinner! Talk to you tomorrow, Mary

Good Evening,

Tonite DD and I went for a 2 mile walk and then I did 30 pushups and 100 crunches dd and her dh stayed for supper. Its suppose to get down to 38 tonite and only suppose to be in the low 60's tomarrow fall has arrived.

Lisa-we say it will all work out in the end and I forgot about Step Moves because I haven't done it yet.

Mary-glad to hear your hand is better now take care of that hip. I don't plan on putting another roof on want to sell it some day.

Hi ladies

Lisa - what a lovely present from your friend - that's so thoughtful. It's the things like that that mean the most.

Jody - that sounds like a very healthy smoothie. I bet you needed that after SH Chest.

Mary - it's a Spanish film (Almodovar) with Antonio Banderas. He's still pretty gorgeous. take it wasy with the hip - is it the new new one or the old new one?

Roxie - yes, it was Step Moves as Lisa said. It's a good one.

I did Plyo Legs and No equipment Abs today. Missed out the last three exercises completely on Plyo Legs - I thought I was going to throw up. I did up my weights a bit this time instead of using one lightish weight all the way through (pathetic excuse but it will have to do! ;)). Think I might have achey legs tomorrow!

Hi, I did STS Legs. I have an important question to run by you all. As you know Yoshi cat is old (18 yrs, 2 mths), 100% blind, very arthritic, can't give meds as it will damage her kidneys and put her into kidney failure, supplements aren't doing all that much for her arthritis and in fact we quit pilling her (only crush one up on her food). We quit pilling her because she would run and hide from us after....well, not run exactly, but hobble and bump along until she found a spot we don't go much. So we quit pilling her because we don't want her to have that feeling of hating us at the end. Also her inappropriate peeing. We've tried to accomodate this peeing by putting pee pads all around her litter box (a good small bedroom sized area covered in pee pads), it stinks down there in the basement. Of course who knows where she is peeing. I caught her peeing in another area of the basement while I was working out. She is ruining our carpets, it stinks down there, then on top of it the walls are fabric insulated covered (owens corning) in the basement. The pee gets on part of the wall. I'm having serious thoughts about finding a vet to put her to sleep (not sure the current one will). Am I being SELFISH? I hate going to my workout area because it STINKS. We are going to get a black light and see where all the pee is (supposedly you can find the spots with a black light), and clean those spots up with a special (expensive) formula. We will do this this weekend. Depending on what we find, I can't put up with this anymore. What do you all think? All honest opinions accepted. As you know I'm really broken up about this. I vow to NEVER have another pet again, I can't handle "THE END OF LIFE". This sucks. Thanks for listening.

Good Morning,

DD and I didn't go for a walk it was only in the upper 30's and we both prefer our covers so tonite is GS Legs Timesaver #1 and Med Ball Abs. DH sent me a text this morning we have 8 mexicans on our roof so by the time I get home it should be almost done which is good because its suppose to rain the next couple of days.

Lisa-I know its hard but I think its time to put the poor thing down, when our dog that was 10 years old and we had gotten when it was 6 weeks old quit eating or was throwing up after she ate was blind and deaf we finally decided it wasn't fair to make her suffer anymore the descision about killed all of us she was a very loyal and good dog.

Ronne-at least you did a workout.

Hi, late check in. Did 4 miles on the TM. Lisa, I'm sorry about Yoshi, wish I had answers for you. I am thinking of you. Roxie, hope the roof looks beautiful. Ronne, you are right. Antonio is quick good looking! I am looking forward to his movie coming out, Puss in Boots. His voice is quite charming! Jody, what did you do today? Murphy? You out there? Well, long day, need to get the kids moving. Mary

Hi girls...

I only got in Back from SH this morn. The afternoon run was canceled due to the mother/taxi/concierge service I lovingly provided (not) to my dds. Lets see what the weekend brings. I'd like to visit w/ my mom for a bit, kids want to go see Lion King 3D and I'd like to get caught up on my school work and workouts.

Lisa, I'd support whatever choice you make for Yoshi. I talk a mean talk, but push come to shove, I ended up taking my 11 year old dog for surgery this summer for amputation of her rear limb. She had a tumor on her foot. But, I am done w/ pet messes on the carpets. I have new carpet in my townhouse, my first new carpet ever and I swear I would throw the dog out the upstairs window into traffic below if I thought she made a mess. I know, they don't do it on purpose.

She is 18 years old? What is the point of nurturing her thru another year of carpet ruination? I guess I am thinking she can do a lot of damage in a short period of time w/ little quality of life to show for it. I say, bless her, love her, honor her, memorialize her and pink bubble her happy transition to kitty heaven. Feel all your feelings around the event. Then call Stanley Steamer and start enjoying your basement again.

Good Evening,

DD and I went for a 2 mile walk tonite and got caught in the rain with the temp only in the 50's. Its suppose to be 44 when we walk in the morning.

Jody-nicely put about kitty heaven.

Hi everyone

Lisa - I think Jody put it really well. As you know, I'm not a pet person so am probably not the best person to ask! It doesn't sound like life is much fun for her anymore so I wouldn't hesitate to take her to the vet. I think sometimes we prolong animals lives way beyond what is comfortable for them. Anyway, whatever decision you make will be the right one for you.

Roxie - sounds like the roof is coming along.

Jody - hope you get to do some of what you want this weekend.

Mary - You should hear him in Spanish - he sounds even better!!

Well, I'm off gallivanting again this weekend. I'm going to London with my BF - we're doing some shopping, eating, drinking and staying in a hotel Sat night. I need a new winter coat so hoping to find something.
Not sure what workout I'm doing today - I've got serious leg DOMS all over so it'll be some cardio and Day 3 of my push-up challenge.

Have a good one everyone.

Yea, it's friday! I didn't sleep well last night at all, been awake since 2am. Got up at 4:30am and logged onto work to "work"( that means I don't have much to do). I'm planning to "work" a straight 8 hrs and then that gets me off at 12:30 and then if I feel like it I'll do an easy cardio, maybe MMA KB.

The reason I didn't sleep is more hormones I think because I wasn't fretting over Yoshi. Thanks for your opinions. Most everyone I've talked to say the same as you all, except my BFF who is much more tolerant of dealing with sickness or old age. She said it can't be much longer and winter is harder on animals. Well, when it's time I'm confident I'm doing it for Yoshi and it's just a process I have to get through to be ready to say goodbye. She was so sweet last night though, wanting rubbed, pressing into my hand with her head. but her purr is still extremely soft not loud like it used to be. That's what makes dealing with these animals so hard, they are soooo darn cute even in the end. When it is time DH wants to go to the old vet, the one who put Maddy to sleep 18 months ago. It will be hard going back into that office and DH says I don't have to, but I would never leave DH to handle it alone and I want Yoshi to have us around her. From my research, it is the arthritis causing this pee issue, and a yr ago the vet had estimated her pain as 9.5 on a scale of 1 to 10 after all the xrays he did. So I know her joints hurt, it's just not "life threatening" so makes the decision harder to get to.

So this weekend we are trying to clean up the basement some, see how the next couple weeks go and just take it as it comes and prepare.

Ronne, I know you aren't a pet person and after my troubles I bet I've really turned you off pets! DH and I swear no more pets! Your weekend sounds fun. My BFF and I are planning another hike Monday (nothing extreme like a 14er though). great job with the push up challenge, my hat's off to you on that one.

Roxie, it's a good thing you didn't have to hear them up on the roof :) When they did ours, it sounded like thousands of elephants up there! The cooler weather is nice, isn't it? Too bad fall and spring don't last longer here.

Mary, How is your MIL? What could be going on with your hip? Boy, you've been such a trouper.

Jody, you bring such a fresh perspective here :) Everytime my BFF and I imbibe and gorge, I now think of you. Yes, I messed up that food diet this week at lunch. I had a Margarita too (work that morning was stressful), it had been years since I had a Margarita, boy they are sweet!

I'm still in a dilemma about that darn barbell too. Got the clips from the place and they are the big ones! (That was after fed ex couldn't find our house and said it was an invalid address, uh, if it was invalid, how did you deliver the first box....guess they don't have GPS). Anyway, the barbell is the 54" bar, the clips say they are for the 54" bar but they obviously don't work. We are heading to walmart so maybe I'll buy yet another set of clips and then if they don't work I'll call and complain to fwonline.com. I am not happy, still WHO sells a barbell and no clips?

Lisa, I understand. Like I said, I can talk the talk, but at the end of the day, I carry my stupid 3 legged dog upstairs and put her on my bed to sleep with me.

Jody, they are soooo cute! How is it dealing with a 3 legged dog? We almost had to amputate Maddy (my Sheltie who went to the rainbow bridge at 13 yrs after a battle with kidney failure). Anyway, at her 6 yrs of age we luckily saved her leg (after 5 surgeries--thankfully vet only billed his cost after 1st surgery. He had to call Colo St univ that specializes in vet medicine to find out that 2 different pins in her leg was causing her bone not to mend after being broken a second time) but she had a permanent limp but still loved to go on her walks. We went 4 miles a day--even the last year of her life when we battled kidney failure. That's why I fought for her, she had quality of life until 2 weeks before the end. Yoshi is just a different journey...I guess we all have to have our own journey :)

Good morning! You girls have been busy here! Jody, they are adorable! Lisa, it is hard to know when is the best time. It is such a difficult thing to do. Ronne, have fun this weekend! Sounds like a ball! Roxie, how's that roof? I did PUB this am, felt really long today. Had a long day yesterday, school called in the morning. Youngest DS got into a fight on the bus, disagreed with someone, that kid punched him, DS punched back. So, I got to spend the morning in the principal's office. Then oldest DS comes home from school, so and so said so and so wants to kill himself and he won't be in school tomorrow. I had to call the mother and give her this second hand information, just in case it was true. Talk about a hard phone call. She was grateful, but I don't want to do that ever again. So, I am just hoping the phone doesn't ring today! Now that I have rambled on, I am going to the shower! Have a good day! Mary

Good Morning,

Didn't get our walk in because it was raining. Tonite is GS Legs and KCMs KBXing.

Lisa-we didn't even get a fall it was 100 degrees on Monday and Wednesday we barely topped 65 and today the highs are suppose to be in the 50's.

Ronne-the workers quit at 3:30 so they didn't finish it and now its raining.

Mary, are you entering the fun middle school years? There is always something kids no matter how old that's happening to "keep it fresh" for you :)

Roxie, bummer about the roof.

Oh my goodness, Mary, what a rough time for you and the boys. ::hugs::

Good luck on the roof, Roxie.

Lisa, my dog gets around pretty well but cant jump up. Corgis have short legs anyway. I think you love and enjoy your pets too much to count on you not having new ones eventually! But the end stage is so difficult. I am glad you think of me when you are having fun w/ your GF! Our friendships are so valuable.

And there goes Ronne having a weekend and a shopping trip! ::good natured envy::

OK, I just finished Hiit 40/20 and had an awesome hard ab workout with....Tamilee Webb from Buns of Steel fame. It is a DVD from 2001 called "I Want That Body". I loved it and feel great.
