Sunday I did KPC. Jody, I think you said you stopped this one early because you got tired of it when getting to kicking/punching combos. I always have to push myself through that part and knowing that combo 2 and 3 are shorter helps. I also really concentrate on keeping my core tight to get the most out of the punching. I really feel it in my obliques when I do a cross punch and then a side kick too. Hope you try it again.

Roxie, enjoy your bike ride. today we will set another record for a high. This has been the 2nd hottest August on record for us.

Murphy, hope everything is good with you with Irene

Mary, how's the finger?

Ronne, are you back from Spain?

Oh, I did get paged this morning, but I missed answering my cell phone. Stupid ops called 4 times in 12 min (I was in the shower and missed it), didn't notice until an hour later that I had missed calls on my cell. They never left a msg or called home phone (that is 2nd # they are supposed to call). I feel bad because someone else (my team lead) got paged and she had to handle it (only had to restart a job). From looking at when she completed the job, ops must have called her right away when I didn't answer(this really isn't that urgent of a problem! And they are supposed to wait and try in 30 min), as it was my team lead got called and finished running the job all 20 min after they called me. Hmmmm, I have to learn to feel not guilty since it's crazy how they couldn't wait as per the callout instructions. Will see if I get any complaints Monday I guess. I'm on backup pager next week and I will be in the mountains without computer access, hope I don't get called since I won't answer it anyway :) This can really impede life sometimes and here they are wanting us to be on call more often (right now it's 2 weeks every 2 months, it could go to 2 weeks every month---that is toooooo much!) We get no pay unless called out but still it impacts your life to ready to answer it at any time of day/night. I really need to learn not to feel guilty.....

Lisa-I work for a medical supply store and have oxygen patients so we have a 24 hour on call service and they are suppose to call the bosses first before they call me and for some reason they say they never get the phone calls I always get them even if I am not the main person on call. Don't feel quilty you have protocal and if they ca't follow it thats their problem.

Roxie, yes very irritating, I'm just so good at giving myself a guilt trip. I might be calling you for oxygen Wed when I'm at 14,000 ft :)

Good Evening,

Tonite I did TBS Basic Stretching. Didn't get to go for a bike ride rain comes and goes.

Lisa-I would love to help you but I don't deliver that far.

Lisa, Hahaha, hitting on Roxie for O2s. I didn't like KPC very much at the very end when it evaporated into the punching drills, but I did give it a try again. I will do it again when I am working on CTX next time. Carrying pager sounds like a lot of undesirable drama. : ( I'd say if you can purposefully be out of touch next week while on hike, then letting go of this morning' s missed calls under the "they didn't follow protocol" circumstances shouldn't be that hard. You were doing your part correctly, so no need to feel anxty about it. Maybe you are having premature guilt for next week? lols

Roxie, the weather is just giving you fits, eh? How far do you guys ride? Do you pedal fast and furious or cruise?

Today I finished ME (Tri, shoulder, 1 section of legs and core which was ouchy good) Does Cathe bring those glute lunge thingys back? I'd never done them before, they hit me like firewalkers. Then, since I felt wimpy for chunking ME into two days, I did BootCamp cardio only w/ at least a min rest between sets, sorta a 60/60 Hiit, then. And 1.25 dance classes. OK, back to the crazy habitrail work week on Mon. I'm gonna keep on doing Intensity series.

Jody-we usually ride about 7 miles and its never and easy pace.

Hi all

Got back last night from Spain. Feeling those post-holiday blues already!! We had a great time, weather was great, low 30s (C) everyday. House was lovely with a great pool. We were 15 mins from the beach and we fitted in a bit of sightseeing as well (drove into Barcelona!). Feels like we've been away for ages.
Our bathroom isn't finished - we don't have a shower yet! So it'll be a while before I can start working out again.

Had some not so great work emails waiting for me but I'm trying not to get stressed about them. Apologies for lack of personals - will be back later in the week to talk more.

Hi girls! Ronne, you are back! We missed you! So glad to hear you had a relaxing time. Lisa, I don't think you need to feel bad at all. They didn't follow protocol, that is out of your hands. Let that guilt go! Roxie, did you get up early again? Jody, that's funny, I like to avoid cardio and if I could would just do the weights! I do like those leg lifts in ME, the only DVD I have ever seen them in. Murphy, are you out there? How did you do with the storm? Kids went to school and DH is at work. I am alone in the house and I love it! Back to work tomorrow tho. Today will be some kind of cardio, took a rest day yesterday. Sat. I did a Tonique w/o. Hopefully by tomorrow or wed. should be able to hold weights again. Hand feels better, just a little sore. Well, I am going to enjoy the quiet! Have a good day, Mary

Good Morning,

I did get up and go for a 2 mile walk this morning and tonite I want to do abs and I am going to try Zumba on the wii.

Ronne-welcome back sorry to here about the unpleasant emails.

Mary-its always nice to have the house to yourself.

I did UB of HR and STS TB today. I like working those together as STS TB doesn't have enough Bi/Tri in it for me and I feel like HR complements it nicely. Welcome back Ronne, how unpleasant to have not to pleasant work emails on your return! Mary, enjoy the house alone! I keep getting interrupted writing this, let me close for now.

Oh Lisa, you do double workouts and I do halvsie workouts!

Ronne, it sounds like a lovely holiday. Wah, I wanna go! Good luck getting your family back to non holiday life.

Roxie, I love to ride my bike, too. It is nice that your hubby will go with you. Well, I say that, but I don't really like anyone hanging out with me if I am working out, I think it is annoying. But I am always interested to hear of couples who like each other and spend time together on purpose, : D.

Mary, glad your hand is better. Ugh, what a bummer to begin with! Sometimes, the only way I can be alone in my house is to put on headphones and music. Its the adult equivalent of Clapping hands over your ears and saying "blah blah blah, Someone is talking and I can't hear you".

I planned on trying to do IMAX2 but I want to clean up home a little and plan some food for dancer buds coming over tonight for a glass of wine. Remind me later that I still need to get up at 5 AM tomorrow.

Happy Monday All!

Hi Ladies

Mary - what did you do to your hand?

Lisa - so are you off up another mountain tomorrow?

Jody - you work out loads!! What with all the extra dance classes and stuff.

Roxie - what is Zumba? I've heard of it but don't really know what it is.

I might be able to get some yoga in today. Trying to do stuff that doesn't make me sweat!! At home with DD today just sorting stuff out. Got to work this evening!

Good Morning,

DD and I went for a walk again this morning wanted to do 3 miles but as we were finishing the 2nd mile you could see a thunderstorm roll in so I told her we better head for home and just as I got in my car it cut loose and poured. Tonite I need to work abs.

Ronne-zumba is latin dance and its really hard unless you can come close to the right steps but in 13 mins I burned 81 calories.

Hi all. Well, let's cut to the chase. We made out okay with Irene, our basement flooded about 2 1/2 inches but we cleaned it out. Thankfully something told us to check on the basement and we saw the water coming up from the floor. We moved all the important stuff and stacked the other stuff on bins we had had down there. We bought a big wet/dry vack and sucked the water out - that plus ringing out towels and etc (my hands are sore and raw). The downside is that now my back is killing me. Between carrying out the buckets and moving stuff, I am stiff. Actually, my entire body hurts - from the palms of my hands and my forearms down to my calves and feet. But, the basement is on the mend. Me on the other hand... The other downside is that the basement was my exercise area. I was able to save most of it (I have to breakdown and check out the power tower) but I cannot do anything with any impact. The family room is on a slab so no impact there. The wii is in the family room so I will be doing that until we can get things together. Oh, the track near my house flooded so I won't be going there either.

Anyway, I hope everyone else is doing well. Ronne, glad you are back.

Murphy

Murphy, glad to hear you are all safe. I have been thinking of you. Such a pain with your basement, thank goodness you were able to save things! Lisa, have fun on your mountain! And don't forget your pager! (I was trying to make a funny!). Jody, did you stay up too late last night? I am not a wine girl, (beer) but i think Ronne and Lisa are! Roxie, good thing you missed the rain. You are dedicated to get up that early and work out! Ronne, I cut my hand on an apple corer, had to get stitches! It's all good tho. How long will you be without a shower? Well, I was back to work today. Seems like I have a good group of students. Now, I have to figure out which work out to do! Have a good day! Mary

Murphy, sorry about the basement. Other than being annoying and hard work to clean up, it sounds like you were successful at damage control. good luck getting your work out groove. It reminds me that I need to to have a variety of ways to stay fit and consistently work out. I tend to get in a rut. That is why I am really trying to work thru different dvds, not stick to my old faves. Anyway, i hope you guys get back to your pre hurricane normal.

Lisa, are you bringing snacks for any random mtn goats you see at the peak?

Ronne, what is the timeline looking like on your bath? Coming home to no shower? That's a sure way to get the no more holiday blues. Dang, I'd be headed back to Spain asap.

Roxie, I like getting enough sleep, but I don't mind early if I've gone to bed in a timely manner.

Sooo, my besties came over last eve. We have so much fun~ I fixed sloppy joes and salad and served fruit, so i didn't binge on chips cheese or hummus, yea! 2 bottles of wine split 4 ways over 4 hours, so overall not too immoderate. We danced/rehearsed and laughed, what a blessing these friendships are~ and I hit the ground running this morn, no prob.

Yesterday aft, I subbed CTX All Step for IMAX2 since I was short on time. I think I wonkied up my knee. I skipped run today. Hopefully a day off of impact will help.

Best wishes to all for a great Wed tomorrow

Edited to add that my knee feels better this morn, I will give it a few days rest. Better do some upper body...

No workout for me yesterday. My house is in a shambles and poor DH is so tired I feel bad asking him to move more stuff around so I can get an area to exercise. My parents are coming this weekend so I hope to enlist their help.

Mary - I hope you hand heals soon. Sorry to hear about the stitches.

Lisa - maybe now is not the best time to mention DH and I watched the movie 127 Hours. The one about the man (Aron Roldsat?) who was hiking alone and his hand got trapped between a boulder and a cave-wall - he had to cut his arm off with the dull blade. Be safe and stay with your hiking buddy.

Hi to everyone.
Murphy
