40's week of 8/19/12

Hi all, getting us started this week. Today is a rest day so I did stretch max, with the band and yoga abs from ab circuits. Still working on getting the kids ready for school. We finally got the school supply list yesterday; it is not too bad, just wish we got it earlier. Waves to all.

Good Morning,

Today will be a stretch after we get home from the lake. Its only suppose to be in the 80's today perfect for boating.

Murphy-I always hated school supply shopping.
 
CF done, this is only the 2nd time I've done it. Added on the bonus core, I HATE the 1st exercise in the core, can't do it, forgot what she called it....you are like a crab.

Murphy, for a few years they had a company put together packs of all the school supplies you would need, then you just paid a $ figure and they were there the first day of school. I thought it was wonderful, it only lasted a couple of years though, not sure why.

I'm doing another gelatin protein treatment. I didn't mix it up as strong as I would have liked earlier in the week. This time I decided NOT to have it on my head while working out.
 
Update on the dog whose owner left her on the top of the mountain for 8 days. The owner being brought up on animal cruelty charges, faces fines, jail time and probably will not get his dog back and instead put into a good home. Yea!
 
Is anyone here? Did LIC cardio PM today, skipped last 1/2 of 4th combo, was running low on time and energy :)

Tonite is my first 1 hour session with PT I hope I can survive it 30 minutes almost kills me and I really need a stretch still haven't done one of those yet.

I'm here! Today did SS and the dreaded rower! The race was amazing! DH came in 1st in his division, mountain bike. DS and his friend came in 4th for theirs! They did a relay, DS ran a 5k, friend did a 12 mile bike ride and then DS had to run another 5k. So incredible to watch. Roxie, you can do an hour of Cathe you will be able to do an hour with the trainer! Give us the scoop! Lisa, how's the jello? Where is DH off to this week? When do you go to Niagra? Hi, I'm at bestbuy in daytona, dad is helping dds with laptops, lol. eating crap - I'll have a lot of damage control to deal with when I get home. No workouts to report. school starts friday.

I don't think there is a muscle group that wasn't hit tonite she had a tough workout planned. I really need to stretch one of these days.
 
Yesterday was an unplanned rest day. Today I am back on the rotation, did Intensity. I did the whole thing - w/ modifications and etc. I did not know that the full program (regular program) does not include the weights. I usually do the bootcamp premix and that has weights. I kept expecting it, but it never came. Don't get me wrong, she still kicked my butt as usual. :)

Roxie - glad to hear I am ot the only one gettting my butt kicked!
Lisa - glad to hear that dog-guy is not getting off free. jerk.

Wow, everyone is busy! Is Ronne still on holiday? I did JL R&C today. DH finally got to Charlotte, NC, connecting flight kept getting canceled in chicago. Poor guy, left the house at 5:30 am and didn't get to his hotel until 8:30pm.

Roxie, sounds like you do need a good stretch (that's a lot coming from someone who doesn't like stretching)

Jody, I had a good eating day yesterday, hope to continue. I do think I'm puffy from salt, been eating a lot of sushi and that soy sauce, oy!

Mary, congrats to DS and DH, that's awesome! Niagara is mid-Sept. so looking forward to some fun time away!
 
Hi girls! Today did the rower, KCM plyo and the floor work from Squeeze. Lisa, that's a long travel day for DH. Sounds painful. I have never tried sushi, not a huge fish fan. I am allergic to shell fish, so maybe that is where it comes from. Jody, I'm with you on the bad eating. I have to rein it in! Murphy, I have never done all of Intensity, just the premix with the hi/lo hiit and bootcamp. Impressive. Roxie, so how are you feeling today? What did the torture involve? Today we are going to the county fair after I clean of course! Have a good day! Mary
 
Mary-here is what I remember and yes I am sore. We did ball passes that Cathe does, pushups for 50 seconds all of this is x3, tricep dips on the floor, sit to stands w 15lb dumbbell, bicep curls 15lb, front lunge x3 then 1 back with the same dumbbells, air squats, explosive rows, holding ball jump squat front turn front turn and that is what I remember my legs were fried.

Ran 2 miles on TM to Cardio Coach 2. Would have liked to do the whole thing but was running late again, sigh. Getting into work puts a crimp in my style! It was a slow 12 min mile, double sigh.

Mary, enjoy last day, they start on a friday? Just doing BORING work today at the dreaded office. triple sigh
 
Today was another unplanned rest day. I have a muscle spasm or something in my neck and it has not gone away. It is better today than yesterday, but it still hurts. I go to the doctor tonight for something else so I will mention it to him. I could not sleep and am somewhat functioning today. :-(

So I have to tell you, yesterday there is a cricket the size of a 1/2 dollar in our basement. I thought it was a huge spider but then I saw the atenna. OMG!!! I hate to admit it, but I was held hostage in my basement by this insect. It was by the stairs and b/c it is so big it can really jump. All I could think of was it jumping on me and me freaking out and falling up or down the stairs and getting hurt b/c of an INSECT! Obviously I got out of the basement, but I had to go down there again this morning and it was sitting on the carpet, the area I work out on. I had to close the basement door and psych myself up to going downstairs - and when I did, I had to "detour" around the cricket. I am just glad my kids did not have to witness my "bravery"!!!!

Roxie - I have to say it, I like your trainer. The w/o seem off the wall but soooo productive. Good stuff!
Mary - "I" am still not ready for school. I would be screwed if it started this week.

Good Afternoon,

Girls I forgot to tell you the other night they finally put a picture of my trainer on the wall and I found out she specilizes in crossfit and that is what my workouts seem to be. I did the elliptical for 4 miles last night and I think tonite will be the TM, still no stretch.

Murphy and Mary-school has started here already including the university and the traffic is now horrible and so is shopping anywhere.

Lisa-good job with your workout sorry you had to go in to work.

I decided to do intervals on the TM and then jogged the last 6 mins. I have a real problem with shin splints and calf pain. I did 2.98 miles and burned 329 cals.
 
TM smackdown round 1 goes to Roxie! I would have gotten in another mile if I wasn't going to be even later for work. I just can't get moving in the morning! I used to be a morning person, not sure what happened....
 
Roxie, you couldn't push another .02 miles just to get a round number? lol
Murphy, sounds like a scary cricket! Cricket removal good job for dh?
Lisa, I lost some ground over the past 5 days while visiting family, which is a bummer since it is lots easier to gain than lose, but I came home today and I am back to greener eating.
Mary, we hit the beach this week for a couple of hours, most of the kids back in school, I guess that was part of our last hurrah for summer.
I did AB dbl trouble pm, kinda easy to cheat that workout by not going as fast as Cathe, so that's exactly what I did. First workout since last Friday. doh!
