40's - week of 7/6/09

Hey, starting us off (actually I'm delaying my workout :p). Gonna do STS disc 7 Chest/Shoulder/Bicep, was supposed to do plyo legs, but my lower back and left hip are hurting (this has happened to me since I was young, so I can't blame age --- it'll work itself out in time but meantime I decided an UB workout was best).

How was everyone's weekend? And for the US people how was your 4th? It was quiet here...I got lots of good naps in and I'm feeling much better in that department after my sleepless weeks.

Later....

Hi Lisa and everyone

Thanks for getting us started. Sounds like you had a restful weekend, just what the doctor ordered ;).

My parents were over this weekend, so we got lots of jobs done. Had a bit of a clearout and got rid of some more stuff (I love clearing stuff out!)

Back into the workouts again. I'm on my last week of the rotation (feels like I've been doing this for a long time!). Yesterday was the GS C&T superset premix. I've never done that one before. I really liked it. I'll be pulling that one out again. Today is a DM cardio premix. The temp has dropped a bit here from last week's heatwave which is a relief!

Have a good day everyone!

Hey Ronne and anyone else that joins us! Today was 4DS KB & legs. I think I have a pinched nerve because my left hip still hurts...my neck feels like it needs cracked, hopefully I'll get it worked out......I don't like to go to chiropractors especially because I can normally get it worked out. I think I must have slept wrong on the couch for one of my naps this weekend. :p

Ronne, How did you like Wimbleton? I'm sad that Federer knocked Sampras from the record...I always loved Sampras, he reminds me of a fuzzy teddy bear for some stupid reason. It's always nice to clean out stuff...problem is, sometimes I find months later I want something I cleaned out! I think we found your heatwave :(

Gotta get going....I have all that glamorous stuff to do like cleaning bathrooms and making dog food.

Happy Tuesday,

I am attempting Cathe's July rotation but am a few days off. I start today with B&G's. I hope I can stick with it.

Lisa - my 4th was good. The kids made me a little crazy, but what else is knew!

Hi all, fly by post for me.

I've been "sucked" right in to all the MJ drama. I even got up at 3.30 a.m (our time) to watch the memorial. Funny, its the only time in my life that I have shown any interest in Michael JACKSON, is now, when he has passed away.

Lisa - I was on line this morning but not online. I logged in and walked away, so I missed your chat, sorry.

Hi everyone

Today was GS legs Standing and PLB floorwork. I then added on the SB strand of Stretch Max as I really felt in need of a decent stretch.

Just been into town for some birthday present shopping, DD's got two parties coming up! Also treated myself to some new sandals in the sale (sandals are my weakness!). You can see them here (possibly ;)): http://www.jonesbootmaker.com/ebusi...=,cmbPriceStart=-1,cmbPriceEnd=-1,page=2,brc=,

Andrea - it's funny what can catch your attention isn't it? Sometimes, it's something you thought you had no interest in at all!

Murph - hope you enjoy the rotation and stay healthy!

Lisa - I was really pleased that Federer won on Sunday. He's my absolute favourite. I thought Roddick played the game of his life though. He's a really nice guy. Bring on the US Open now!

Till tomorrow!

Hey ladies! I did Disc 8 today Back and Triceps....I skipped some exercises again, I figure better to do most than nothing, right?

Murphy, Doesn't that rotation focus on LB a lot? I think that's why I didn't want to do it.....guess I'm not like most women as I don't really need LB focus, beside, my LB gets TIRED...this June 09 rotation has more LB than I like (works LB twice a week, ugh)...I'm hangin in there though, you better too!

Ronne, cute sandals! I love sandals too, I hate having my foot confined. :D

Andrea, I've gotten sucked in too, but I didn't get up at 3:00 am to watch it...I do have it TIVO's though . I've never been a fan of MJ, in fact I only remember his songs because of doing aerobics to them (Beat It, Billie Jean, etc). The man could move though....too bad he got to be so "out there". It will be interesting to see what they finally attribute his death to. I saw where he took a drug that they use to put people under for surgeries and that the dr was supposed to monitor him....all so MJ could get some rest. Now, I've been tired before but I never would subject myself to THAT! OMG!

HAve a good day ladies!

Hi All,

Still sticking with the rotation. It does have a lot of LB focus, but that is what I need (well, all over focus but that is another story). Anyway, quick post. Happy exercising and hello to all who follow.

Murphy

Hi girls! Sorry been gone so long. With vacation and family it has been a busy couple weeks. We still have family in from Arizona, they will leave this weekend. Workouts have been not very consistent unfortunately, but I haven't gained anything, so it has been a bit of a success! Ronne, cute shoes! I love shoe shopping! (well, all shopping if I am being honest!) LIsa, how is Madison? feeling better? Andrea, I liked MJ, didn't get to watch the memorial, tho. When Princess Diana died, we got married the night before her funeral, I made my DH get up at 3am to watch that. Murphy, how is the rotation going? Well, I need to get the kids to the orthodontist. hope to get a w/o in later. Just wanted to say hi to all. Mary

Hi everyone! I did Disc 35 Plyo legs----It felt GOOD...I'm surprised as my hip is still "sore" feeling. I know I still have a pinched nerve, I'm close to getting it worked out.

Hi Mary, good to see you! Maddy is doing well, she is eating great! I think we've both learned what's working, or should I say I'm finally learning. I keep telling her if she does her part I'll do mine. :D One thing I've been doing is for dinnertime, if we have chicken, then I'll take some of our chicken and add to rice, of course making sure the ratios are right. She loves "eating with us". One night I made sloppy joes, since I make them spicy, I took some of the turkey/hamburger added a bit more tomatoe sauce, some basil, oregano, put it over spagetti. It didn't look like any spaghetti I've made in the past because of it having more noodles and hardly any meatsauce and I was unsure she would eat it even though she's gobbled up spaghetti in the past (DH turned with a plate of spaghetti a couple years ago and off it slid to the floor, that dog was on it in no time), anyway, she ate it up with gusto.

Geez, I wrote a book! I guess I talk about my dog like I can my kids!

Hi Murphy, Ronne, Andrea and any lurker-loos....is that a word?

until tomorrow....

Hi all

Mary - good to see you. Did you have a good trip? You have been away as well haven't you? Spill the beans!

Lisa - I'm with you on LB. I tend to avoid rotations concentrating on them as it's not somewhere I need to focus my energies on! Glad to hear Maddy is eating well. Can't imagine plyo legs ever feeling good :p!

Murph - how's the rotation going?

Today I did GS Shoulders and Bis and then MM abs. Nice short workout - came in at just over 45 mins. I've definitely got stronger over this rotation. I accidentally put the wrong weights together and did rear flies with 10s instead of 8lbs!

Bye for now!

Hi All,

I am still out there "rotating". My lower half is feeling it and that is good. My wrist has been hurting for some time now and I finally went to the doctor. He wants me to wear a wrist brace and lay off the upper body work for a week or so. Oh well.

Ronne - the rotation is going okay. I don't have all of the dvd's so there is a lot of substituting but I am doing something and that is more than half the battle for me.

Lisa - congrat's on the plyo legs. I really enjoyed the plyo legs but could not complete them w/o a break. Well, I can say that for a lot of Cathe's dvd's so... Glad to hear that Maddy is doing well.

Murph

Ronne, I don't know where I got the energy to do Plyo...must have been the extra B vitamin I took ;)

Murphy, Uh, I always have to pause the dvd, most especially the plyo dvds.....I'm learning to accept that it's OK to do that!

Do you all know that with walking that dog alone I'm putting in 21 miles a week? Does that sound amazing or am I really just a wimp?

Hello ladies

Well, woo-hoo for me. I finished my rotation! First one in a long time. Did BM2 Cardio Blast premix. Doing it on lower step means I can actually get through it rather than giving up during the blasts.
I'm going to do a couple of weeks of yoga/stretching and some cardio just for something different, I think.

Murph - at least you're doing an LB rotation and can rest your wrist a bit.

Andrea - how are things?

Lisa - you are not a wimp! 21 miles is impressive!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Happy Friday! I did KPC today, I have DOMS from Plyo yesterday too. I'm trying to stick to this rotation, but my LB isn't liking it! :p

Ronne, great job on sticking to the rotation, that FF one is great but tough! I wanna do that one again someday soon!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi all,

Not much to report, I did not work out this morning, so I have to exercise tonight. I just got back from walking and we plan to go to the pool tonight - I hope I don't have to "pause" too much!

Ronne- congrat's on finishing your rotation. I hope I can say the same thing!

Lisa - today is my plyo day, wish me luck. BTW, I borrowed KPC from a friend and it seemed "slow" as compared to the 4DS kickbox. I only did the cardio portion, but it seemed to be at a much slower pace. Is it me or is that how it is?

Good luck Murphy on Plyo! I'm not a kickbox fan but KPC is growing on me. I used to clock watch the WHOLE time and it seemed to drag on, but now I look forward to the kicking/punching combos at the end, it still seems to drag on though. I always thought it was because I'm not a fan of kickbox (but like it much better than hi low, I refuse to do hi low). Also 4DS is short and sweet and has always been my fav kickbox if I had to do kickbox, probably because the torture didn't go on toooooo long. (torture as in BORING to me) I know I'm not much help! The ONLY reason I do any kickbox is I like how the kicking/punching works your core differently.

Hi guys!

Ronne - Congradulations completing your rotation. I've NEVER managed to complete ONE!

I am going to conduct an experiment. I am going to make up my own plyo workout, using Imax 1 and 3. Deep breath, wish me luck.
