40's - week of 7/29/12

Hi all

Jody - great pic by DD's friend. Good luck for the big decision! Yes, we watched the women's gymnastics as well. Great stuff. And Michael Phelps last night, what a great bloke. Just seen GB get its first gold medal!! Hurrah.

Roxie - holiday countdown, yay!

Mary - perhaps you should just call yourself a PA and have done with it!! I hope your DH returns the favour by doing Cathe with you!

Lisa - that's a real bummer about working from home. How about putting a box on your desk at work and telling people that you're collecting money for charity? Every time they make a remark about your face, hair, etc, they need to put a dollar in the box and it's all for a good cause!!

Getting back into the workouts. Did KCM Muscle Definition - 40 mins full body weights. Just about right. I want to squeeze every last workout in I can before we go on holiday!!

I'm thinking of taking a rest day. Here's the reasons....I slept in late and I woke up with good hair :) Hate to waste it and sweat :) Plus got a lot of work to get done.

Jody, who says online friends aren't real? I think they are more real at times.

Ronne and Roxie, oh what fun, I'm ready for holiday too!

Mary, you will look back on these busy times with fond memories and then you'll wonder how you ever did it all, especially at your advanced age :) hee hee, had to get that in there since we are coming up on another year. Gah, less than 2 weeks for me

Murphy, are you sore down to your fingertips? Is tthat why you haven't posted? lol

Coworkers, I think if they insinuate that I didn't need to WFH because I look pretty good (and I do I think.....I think they WANT to see me look bad for some reason), I'll say yes I had an amazing doctor and my body was able to heal without the added stress of being in the office.

Good Morning,

I didn't get to check back in having 2 dogs running around is dangerous for a laptop. Its trying to rain here today finally. I went to the gym last night and did the elliptical and tonite I will do the TM. It sounds like the kids will get to go live in there new house tomarrow the floors are done and the fumes are ok for dd.

Jody-no she didn't make them tear up the carpets but she was being overly picky about other things until she saw the rat droppings in the bedroom that the kids were sleeping in then she just shut up.

Lisa-I understand not wanting to ruin good hair for a workout and your answer sounds perfect.

Ronne-yea for Great Britian.

Hi girls! Today was Trisets LB, those darn hamstring roll ins on the ball! I'm terrible at them! Roxie, you will have your house to yourselves! Do you leave this weekend? I bet you are itching to go away! Lisa, I wouldn't ruin a good hair day either! They are infrequent for me. When do you have to go back into the office? Ronne, when do you leave? Glad you are feeling better. Jody, so what exactly did you decide? Murphy, are you alive and moving out there? Have to get to the shower and go pick up my runner! Mary

Didn't decide, talked to both programs and can have til Mon. Feel free to offer advice!
I'm leaning RT due to schedule, salary and familiarity. OMT has less patient care, more assistant to physician/team feel which is nice, but salary and what I project work week schedule to be like is less appealing.

I ended up feeling icky tonight and figured since I had to shower I'd w/o. 4DS KB and abs only, I did have to take a break to 'give a penny'. HOT! No wonder, humidity is up, ugh, how do you guys deal with so much humidity? Showered and quick wash to my hair, put in protein treatment and condish, letting it just dry with that in overnight.

Jody, I thought it'd be fun to put up a poll for you, OT or RT, but I'd have to start a new thread.

I'm eyeballing lowmax or B+G but may only do my walk/rec center bootcamp workout tonight. Focus on tasks, not fitness. Do LM + BG tomorrow.

Re heat, the ac in my van needs recharged or something, 20 min drive to a class last night and I looked like I'd finished a Cathe warm up when I arrived.

Mary, I'm not too good with those roll ins, either.

Lisa, I do think the women of Cathe are insightful, sensible and all around supremely smarticle but I'd I don't like to be so "out there" plus I'd get sidetracked taking everyone's opinion. I know I keep asking for it, though. ::sheepish::

I'm definitely leaning RT due to its familiarity and higher rate of pay. The job itself may not be as enjoyable, but having enough money and time to live other parts of my life would out weigh that. Besides, I don't know for sure that the OMT would be more enjoyable (but I do think that if I was making this decision as a 25 yr old, I would go OMT)

Good Morning,

I went to the gym last night and did Intervals on the TM and then this morning I stayed home and walked on the TM because it was storming outside. We got some really nice rain last night but it sure is making things humid this morning. I started to pack my suitcase this morning to make sure I have everything. I have a PT session tonite and then 2 left when I get back.

Mary-I am on a countdown for Saturday morning that is when we leave.

Jody-there are more opportunities for RTs not just working in sleep labs you could work for anybody dealing in respitory products.

Hi ladies

Just a brief check-in from the home of the Olympics!! Did LICh all the way through. Off to wash a floor while watching sport!!

Didn't sleep good last night so slept in waaaaay late. Not sure I'll w/o.

Ronne, So did I get the 'give a penny' phrase right? I hear these british terms and then forget the exact saying. Enjoy the olympics!

Hi girls! Today did Rumble with Amy and the freaking rowing machine! Ronne, have fun with the floor! I'll come and do them for you! Lisa, hope you get some sleep. The never ending quest! Roxie, one more work day! Excited for you! Jody, I see your point. More money and more time, guess its a pretty easy decision? Murphy, where are you? Well, off to pick up band camper! Mary

Here I am. I have been sleeping later than I should and have no time to do anything. I was trying to get in some lower body work but my booty was still sore. Funny, the upper body work is okay, that soreness has subsided. While watching myself in Cathe's "funhouse mirrors", I noticed that my squats were shallow. I never noticed that before, I thought I was lower than I actually was. WTH! Well that just sucks. I am thinking of doing the August 2011 rotation if she does not post one and that one starts with B&G. I am doing everything to avoid it yet I know I need to do it. ;-)

?? - someone asked if I would do the roadtrip again and I would consider it. It gets your charged up for working out, like a B-12 for exercise. Plus, those hideous mirrors tell the truth - you are not working as hard as you think you are - shallow squats, improper form - lower those shoulders and etc. I figure if I start saving now, I should be okay. It was about $500-$600 in total - $300 for the road trip part, $150 for the hotel (shared room) and about $100 or so in gas, food (misc stuff), and stuff I bought at the Cathe's gym (clothing, equipment and gifts for my girls).

Hi to all, sorry for the lack of personals!

Murphy

Murphy, the trip sounds tough but was really a well deserved dose of self care, I'm glad it went well!
Please let me whine for a minute. I'm really frustrated w/ my kids', especially older one, lack of initiative and responsibility to take care of her self. God bless her little scaredy cat heart but I'm ready for her to manage her life more effectively.

Good Evening,

The Pt kicked my butt and then she weighed me and I am down 2.5lbs so that makes it all worth it.

She's 19. As a result of not filling out her college app completely the first time thru, they had her classified as non resident and financial aid can't see her as a student. It took 3 trips and 3 sessions of standing in line to figure out all the documentation needed. She's afraid of driving and doesn't have her license either. She's a little scary behind the wheel, too. Frustration
I ended up doing 4 miles of jog yesterday, boot camp class was cancelled. I was totally out of veggies, I'd even eaten the last of the ancient 1/2 bag of frozen mixed veggies that had been in the freezer since who knows when. I stocked up again, so food should be better today and hopefully thru the weekend.
Roxie, down 2.5 pounds, congrats!
Mary, unless I talk myself into believing OMT having equal pay. Then I'd be comparing jobs and quality of life each would provide.

Hi all

Jody - I can imagine your frustration with DD. I expect we've got that to come as well - our DD can be pretty dopey!! We're never satisfied as parents tho' are we? If our kids are quiet, they're too quiet, if they're loud, they're too loud!

Murphy - I saw your post before I worked out today so made sure I went a bit deeper on my squats! Suspect I might pay for that tomorrow!

Roxie - congrats on the weight loss. All your hard work has paid off!

Mary - the thing that frustrates me with cleaning that particular floor is that it doesn't look much better after I've finished it!! Rumble and rowing? Your DH is mean! Hope you get some downtime this weekend.

Lisa - It's 'spend a penny'! I did wonder what you meant! :) Hope you get some good sleep this weekend.

Well, inspired by all these fit people on the TV I decided to do DM today. I did take a few shortcuts here and there but made it through the whole thing. We're up to 4th in medal table! Woohoo!!
Off to see friends this weekend, do you think they'll mind if I plonk myself in front of their TV?!

Good Morning,

I got up and went to spin class because I won't have time tonite to workout we have last minute things to do. 7.5 more hours and vacation begins, I am so excited I haven't had a vacation since last September.

Ronne-I don't think they will mind at all they have probably doing the same thing I know we have. Thanks for the congrats its nice to finally see results.

Jody-I have a 25 year old daughter like that, she has went to collage and gotten her bacholers but she used and online school and apparently didn't ask if they were registered with the board of regence in this state and they are not so her bacholers doesn't count here and she has now decided she wants to get her masters. Thanks for the congrats.

Hi girls! Today did HR UB and the rower. Roxie, HAPPY VACATION! Enjoy yourselves! Ronne, enjoy your weekend. I suppose that's what everyone wants to watch! It feels like that's all we have on here. Jody, it is scary to grow up! I remember just itching to get out of the house when I was her age, then I wanted to go back as quick as I left! Murphy, are you fully recovered yet? Lisa, what are you up to this weekend? DD finishes cross country camp tonite. They are coming between 11 and 1 to kidnap him for a bonfire and camping, that means I have to stay awake!? He is unaware of this! On Sunday a friend invited him to go to Cedar Point, he's thrilled about that! I am exhausted with the running around! Yesterday I had to make 6 trips to the high school! Today only 3! Have a good Friday! Roxie, be safe in your travels! Mary

Hi everyone, I was determined to w/o today. Did LBB since I failed earlier this week. Feeling like I'm getting back to the groove of working out. Now if I can get better about my eating! GF and I are looking to climb the tallest mountain in CO next week. Told people at work I'd be taking off most of the week but not sure what days (there are a lot of people out next week, I don't care I'm still taking off). Anyway, I was questioned as to why we would be celebrating my BD early (by a week), not once but twice, like they are trying to catch me in a lie? It was this time last year we went up to the mountains to celebrate (like we don't try to get it on THE day, geez).

Mary, aw, your fond rower is back in your rotation! If the kids are busy then at least hopefully they are staying out of trouble!

Roxie, enjoy your vacation! I hope you don't find those lbs you lost (I know I probably would)

Ronne, sigh, I can't remember those funky sayings you all have!

Murphy, I tried to make sure I wasn't dogging it on my squats today, gee thanks!

Jody, it is frustrating just when you think they should be able to handle something independently and then they don't. Don't worry we all go through it to varying degrees.
