40s - week of 6/20/2011

Today was 4DS KB Cardio only. I still was a sweaty mess even though it's an easier workout. I think I may be having hot flashes at times cuz I'm sitting here at work and I'm hot. Went for walk around the buildings (about .75 miles) and I came back a sweaty mess (in work clothes. EW@!). I had to take another shower once I got home!

Murphy, what type of work do you do?
 
Hi girls! I must be PMSing with Lisa! I am really crabby today! Don't know why! I did GS C&T, then did 2 miles on the TM. Lisa, it is humid here, when I get out of the shower, I feel like I didn't take one! Murphy, do you w/o as soon as you get up? You must have to go to sleep before the sun does! Wonder if Ronne is having fun? Roxie, what are you up to today? Well, I need to go find an activity for the children? Scrubbing floors? Washing windows? Painting the bathroom? See, I am crabby! Mary
 
Oh no Mary! My crabbiness transferred to you! I'm doing better, work I think has finally settled down, I'm working from home Thursday because I have a "dr's" appt (really hair appt), and Friday DH and I are taking off and hiking!

Have fun cleaning, I really miss having time to clean my house, no one does it like I like to have it done. Never the kids, not the husband, and even not the cleaning lady I pay!

Today we are having Medicare phone conferences an our phone an internet wires are being redone so the place is a zoo. I went home last night with a stomache something I ate made me bloated an sick so I didn't work out. Tonite is upper body by kcm.
 
It must be humid all over. I too went for a walk (in my work clothes) and am sweaty. I did a mile plus some stairs - what was I thinking. Well, my hair looks a little fuller. :)

Lisa - I work for the legislature. I write legislation and etc.

Mary - I tend to go to bed around 10. My little one is a night owl and keeps getting out of bed. If she goes to bed and stays in bed then I can go to bed early; otherwise, I am screwed. I usually "function" on no sleep.

And you are shinnier :) Instead of shiny shoulders (if you don't have on a sleeveless top), maybe you have shiny chest :)

Tonite I did KCM Split Session Upper Body Split an then I want to take the dog for a walk later. No humidity here. I went for a 2 mile walk it felt good.

Today was HiiT 30/30. It was good. I had been avoiding the HiiT's but I am glad I did it. I skipped 3 sections but otherwise I went all out. Yeah me. I had planned to do STS TB but I burned three fingers on the George Foreman grill and now I cannot grip weights or make a fist without pain. The pinky is the most painful one. They are just red, no blisters or anything - yet. Yikes.

Lisa - I agree with what (I think) you said about the downloads and premixes. I forgot they don't have premixes. I do the premixes a lot and would be upset paying that money and they were not there. Glad you reminded me of that.

Hi everyone

Well, we had a great day yesterday and saw some good tennis. The Venus Williams match was fantastic. She was playing a 40 year old Japanese woman who came really close to beating her. It was really exciting.
I had a go at Tracey Anderson cardio today. It was fun and I got sweaty. My HRM is on the blink though and not picking my heartrate up when I do cardio. So frustrating!!

Roxie - what do you think of the Split Sessions? I think the UB is easier than the LB.

Lisa - hope the hiking's (cough, sorry I mean working's!) good ;)

Mary - C&T followed by cardio? Impressive!

Murph - sounds like you're getting the workouts in again.
 
Today was GS CT, I admit, I skipped at least 1/2 the pushups, wasn't in the mood for those (is one ever in the mood for them?)

Murphy, I understand about the weights and hurt fingers. My ring finger on the inside had blister from of all things tying and retyping hiking shoes when I was trying them on last Saturday. All DH could do was make fun of me. I admit it's pretty weird way of getting them. I think because I like my shoes tied TIGHT, but also have to be careful not to get too tight across the arch.

Ronne, what fun! Working (cough) at home today, ah, soon my weekend starts! My work computer is running very s-l-o-w, I don't think it wants to work either :)

Mary, where are you at these days? Did you miss a day with us?

Roxie, it's great you have a pal to walk with you :)
 
Hi everyone! Today was GS BS &B, I really don't like working shoulders! Lisa, I was here yesterday! Remember, I was crabby?! I hope you feel better! Did you get your hair done yet? Mary, I guess yesterday was such a LONG boring day that it felt like 2 :p
I go in 5 hrs to get my hair cut. I'm thinking of a new style, one I had when I was 38. Will see what I decide.

Tonite will be KCM Split Sessions Lower Body and maybe another dog walk.

Lisa-the pushups are on of the reasons I like doing the timesavers not as many. I really like having the dog to walk with unless he tries running into me which he did several times last night and then he drools really bad and shakes his head spraying it everywhere.

Mary-I like her Split Sessions when I am not dizzy it gets the job done, I can really feel it in my shoulders today and my core. The leg workout is really good and you can add a floorworkout if you want to.

Ronne-I agree with upper body being easier then lower because you use the band for the legs. Sounds like you enjoyed yourself at Wimbeldon yesterday.

Murphy-good workout today.
 
Today is going to be hiking with DH, only maybe around 4 miles but very rocky and steep. And it's HOT, ugh! Can't wait to try my new hiking shoes!
 
Lisa - have fun with hiking. I'm with you about losing track of time. Some days are over before you know it and others feel like a week!

Mary - are you up to anything with the kids this weekend? I would recommend the Split Sessions especially for the lower body.

Roxie - have you tried the full body premix on split sessions? That's a good one.

I did an old Tracie Long DVD today. It was tough! I'm off to London again this evening to meet a friend for drinks and dinner. I've not been to London for months and I'm going three times in a week!

Ronne, dinner and drinks in London sounds so extravegant (did I spell that wrong?) we are going to Olive Garden for lunch. That doesn't have the same ring to it! Tonite for me is the workout I didn't do last night due to my show and then I want to go for a walk but I won't be able to take the dog because we are puppy sitting oldest DDs lab retriever mix and I can't handle her, so I will have to leave them with DH and go by myself.

Ronne-I did do that one and it was a really good workout, thank you for reminding me about that one I will have to do it in the morning. Have fun in London.

Mary-I really think you would enjoy these workouts there is plenty of premixes and options to choose from, you can even do just certain muscles. I read on facebook she is getting ready to do some new workouts but she hasn't given any details.

Hi ladies, back already before the heat set in, we did 4 miles in 3 hrs. It was super steep, I think this is the steepest trail I've ever done, hoping these pics does it justice:

Mary, We went to Pei Wei, doesn't sound as fabulous as London either :)

Roxie, enjoy your walk. We saw lots of dog's on the trail today (Boulder is such a dog lover's paradise). There was this one little black dog, not your normal trail hiking dog, having a blast.

Tonite I worked the lower body which I can't stand to do and when it cools down I will go for a walk.
 
Today I did TF 30 min. Proud of myself for doing something after the hike.

Roxie, I dislike LB too, but I really felt how strong my leg muscles were as I hiked that very steep incline (felt like leg presses :) ) I just wish my cardio was better than it is (it's never been very good, I blame second hand smoke all my life growing up ). You would think my cardio would be better than it is with all the working out we do, but everyone passed us on the trail :confused: Even an older lady, however the older lady didn't finish the climb, she turned around at one point and said she had had enough :p We were like the tortoise and not the hare :)
