Hey everyone, just getting the week started. Sunday I did GS Legs, it was at the bottom of the pile so I guess it was time to do that one, it has such a dread factor for me, now it can work it's way back down to the bottom of the pile :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Rain is coming here tomorrow so was a mostly cloudy day today, lots of hammock time! And then couch time where I finally caught up on sleep from being paged in the middle of the night friday and saturday night.

Today I did MMA kickbox. I did not realize that I have not done this one for some time. It was not too bad. I wonder why I put it at the bottom? Anyway, I hope all had a good weekend. NOtmuch to report here.

Murphy

I have DOMS from GS Legs, gonna go do MMA KB with Murphy :) I slept WONDERFUL last night....sleep makes all the difference!

Hi everyone

Lisa - GS legs has a bit of a dread factor for me as well, although I always find I enjoy it when I do it!

Murphy - Perhaps you'd had a break from kickbox?

Had a great weekend. Stayed up till 2am on Sat night! Got up at 8am yesterday and then went back to bed for 3 hours later that morning to catch up on sleep. Took DH for afternoon tea yesterday afternoon. We had finger sandwiches, very posh cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam!!! Delicious.
Went to the optician this morning and my prescription's changed so I need new glasses. I wasn't expecting that: £300 ker-ching!
Did a quick 30 min workout with Patrick Goudeau. My Tracy Anderson DVDs have arrived so I'll be trying those for the rest of the week.

Good Morning,

Tonite is KCMs Split Sessions Upper Body and some abs. We are expecting severe weather later today. Spent the day yesterday with my DDs and there significant others.

Lisa-I always dread the workout to, I am just going to do the timesaver version from now on.

Murhpy-I haven't tried that workout yet.

Ronne-I hate it when my sleep gets interrupted, and when I have to get new glasses.

Hi girls! I haven't gotten my w/o in yet, but I will! You guys are funny, I love GS legs! Murphy, we missed you! I haven't done that w/o in awhile, I should pull it out! Ronne, sounds like you had fun. Let us know what you think of Tracy. Roxie, sounds like a good day with your family. Lisa, did your boys come over yesterday? Brunch was nice, had fun at the ball game, but we had to leave because it started raining. I need to make an eye appointment, I just dread the investment! Have a good day! Mary

Ronne, I find it takes me longer to recover from a late night, do you? or are you still just a youngster :p

Murphy, see what you started? MMA KB :)

Roxie, Timesaver is a great idea, why didn't I think of that? I think Mary is just plain WEIRD for liking GS LEGS :p

Mary, DS19 had to work and DS22 I'm sure spent the day with HER family....whatever. I really need to read that book about when your children marry and see if there is anything I need to do differently with my son. Regardless, DH and I had a nice quiet father's day/birthday which is what we wanted.

I forgot to mention, we bought hiking shoes for DH and I, we are ready to go in style now! Those things are expensive, I hope it helps with the steep rocky trail we are planning on Friday and helps with the tiredness in the foot. The lady said that your foot has to work too hard in regular sneakers since the sole is more flexible.

RE: glasses, for someone who NEVER had to wear glasses, I HATE wearing them now for reading/computer. i can't even see to read a recipe anymore, grrrrrr. Take them off, put them on, repeat

Good Evening,

Tonite I did KCM's 30min to Plyo Blasts for the first time talk about a puke status workout then I did TF Core 20 standing abs only. We are in a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch for the 3rd day in a row.

I did HR today. I did the whole thing, I impressed myself. Well, okay, I skipped some of the push-ups, but otherwise... For some reason, I thought this last patch of dvd's had more than just the 4 (or whatever it was) dvd's. I guess I got spoiled the shock cardio series and the new series that is coming out. Now I am wishing I had ordered the downloads. I am so NOT tech savvy. I was able to download the shock cardio ones with no problem so I should be able to handle it. Maybe with the next, next set.

Regarding the glasses discussion, I too just had to get a new pair. I really need bifocals but am not mentally prepared for it. I needed them last year but could not do it. Hopefully I will be an adult next time and just get the dang bifocals so I can read. :)

Murphy

Good Morning,

Tonite for me is KCM's Upper Body Split. My core is killing me from last nights workout. The worst of the storms missed us. The temps are beautiful today.

Murphy-good job with your workout today.

Today was GS BSB.

Roxie, TF works the core good. My core felt it after TF 60 and that doesn't have dedicated "core" work like the TF core 20

Murphy, I didn't buy the downloads this last time. I am tech savvy, and I just miss the premixes at times that you get on the DVDs. I wasn't going to pay a ton more for them to download and not have premixes. Maybe I'm still old school. I have bifocals for computer/reading. top part for computer, bottom for reading and if I want to see clear distance I have to look over the top. The adjusting for different vision distances is the most irritating part of glasses.

so, vent time, I can't get over the fact that work expects us contractors to work off hours and then so that they don't have to pay overtime, require us to take off during regular working hours so that we don't go over 40 hrs a week. Just doesn't seem right they expect to pay straight time for after hours work. I've been padding my time worked at home at night and on the weekends since it is so unfair. Sssssh that's between you and me and the internet :)

Hi all

Lisa - I don't blame you at all! That's rubbish. I agree about the premixes as well - they're just too good to miss out one.

Murph - I'm dreading getting to that stage with glasses. My optician said that when I go back in two years she reckons I'll need reading glasses :( Well done on the workout. I really like HR - it moves so quickly it's over before you know it.

Roxie - glad the storms missed you - that sounded bad.

I tried Tracy Anderson's mat workout out today. I rather liked it - completely different to what I normally do, so that's always good I think. I might stick with her stuff for a few weeks and see how that goes.

I won't be around tomorrow - I'm off to the tennis at Wimbledon. Will be seeing Nadal and Venus Williams!

Ronne, have fun at Wimbleton. We will all be jealous.

This is what I got from my contracting company:
It is OK for you to work what is called “flex hours” That is hours that move around during a given week. A week is from Saturday morning at 12:00 AM to Friday evening 11:59 PM. Within that time frame 40 hours can be adjusted any way that is agreeable between you and your manager. This is very common and probably the majority of the consultants work under this arrangement.

So, my take on it is it isn't agreeable to me :)

Honestly I'll just do a good old evade tactic when asked to work after hours and if evading doesn't work, then I'll pad my hours, serves them right!

OK, you knew I couldn't shut up. While I'm venting. I'm getting help on the account I've been working on. It isn't a contractor but an employee(so they can and should work overtime). The clencher? They know nothing about this work, is remote so more difficult to teach, and is on vacation next week! Yea, thanks for the help!

Hi girls! LBB today, so humid here, I was drenched! Lisa, that doesn't sound fair at all. I can't believe that your rate isn't adjusted for off hours. Do you get call time? Do you get paid extra when you do get a call? In nursing, people on call, usually get a minimum of 3 hours pay for being called in, even if it is only an hour. Very frustrating! Roxie, did you send the humidity and storms here? Ronne, have fun tomorrow! Gals you enjoyed Tracy! Murphy, do you get up early to w/o? Well, off to the dryer, talk to you tomorrow! Mary

Mary-I hope not they were pretty ugly.

Lisa-that sounds crappy, here I just have a boss that is bipolar never know what mood she is going to be in an it changes all day long. I haven't had a raise in 2 years.

Mary, no, always get paid straight time unless you go over 40 hrs a week which they won't allow you to do. Even as an employee it changed years ago that you only claim for actual time spent on call (used to be minimum of 1 hr).

Roxie, DH hasn't had raise in at least 8 yrs (he is still employee for company that I used to be employed at --now I'm contractor). At least the boss leaves me alone, it's just irritating when you see them stiffing you to save a few dollars. I always have to make sure I remember I'm a contractor now and not an employee ( I b m) and not kill myself for nothing, know I can't change anything, grin and bear it. Now you all know why I want to retire! :)

I guess you get what you pay for, right?!?!

Hi all. Today was MMA boxing. It felt good. I had to lighten up or skip some of the jumping, my knees were talking to me. The dvd went by fast.

Ronne - have fun at Wimbledon. Tell Venus I said hi. :)

Lisa - sorry to hear about all the work issues. I am lucky in that I don't have a lot of "opportunities" to work overtime. With that said, I don't get paid for working overtime at all. If we work overtime, we get the time, comp time. We get up to 21 hours work of comp time per year. If we work more than that, it is a gift.

Mary - the alarm goes off at 450am. I often lay there until 5 but then that throws me off schedule. That 10 minutes really makes a difference.

Roxie - I have had the bipolar boss. It is so frustrating. You never know what you are going to get. It is so crazy.
