40's - week of 5/20/12

Good Evening,

Tonite we did wts and she took me into what she calls the jungle or the wt room and we did the squat machine, rows, pushups on a bar and triceps, it was another good workout. Do any of you watch So You Think You Can Dance?

Jody-its funny because my legs didn't hurt until now.

Walked 3.75 miles tonight, DH complaining the whole way (he's getting bored with it). I pushed him to go around the next bend and what do you know, someone he knew! His eye doctor, he said we were a long way from home. I want to investigate where this trail goes and look at the expensive houses that border it next time.

Roxie, I watch that show, I normally don't watch the audition part, just once they pick their top dancers. I'm that way with most of the shows, except AGT.

Jody, with the DVR, I watch waaaay too much TV. I bet the wine won out :) I tend to get back from teh walks and make us a smoothie. Refreshing!

Ronne, forgot to mention in my last post, yes, yesterday I did CSS in the morning and GS CT in the evening. The weather had turned cooler and I was feeling invigorated and peppy!

Hi everyone

Roxie - you are going to be lean and mean by the time your PT has finished with you!

Lisa - yeah, I must admit I thought of you yesterday when I was having to stop - it made me feel better!

Mary - have you seen that Amy's got two new workouts? I was having a look at Collage - she's got a dropset weights one which looks interesting and a hip-hop walk (not for me).

Jody - I pick and choose what TV I'm going to watch - I don't like to have too many things on the go. We've just been watching a brilliant Scandinavian crime drama called The Bridge. Don't know if it will make it over there but it was fantastic.

Well, not sure if I'll get a workout in today. I'm meeting my BF for lunch so it could be tricky to fit in. Success last night, I got a dress!! Wasn't really expecting to. It's a very thin, jersey swing dress with short sleeves in a rich purple. Clashes with my hair!!
Have a good weekend everyone. Out tomorrow night with DH as DD is away!!

Hi all. I finished HR, upper body only. I usually work out at 5 am, when the rest of the house is usualy asleep. 6 am on the weekends. I did not do all of the push-ups. I am still feeling off. It is probably the lack of sleep and running around all day with gthe 7 year old. I am so tired. I will be glad to get back to work so I can rest!
Sorry for the lack of personals. I have missed so much that I don't know where to start.

Murphy

Murphy, yea! you got your workout in but sorry you are still tired. I do think that the constant re direction that occurs when staying home w/ kids causes extreme weariness.

Ronne, when I was watching Bree on DHW I was thinking about how they must have chosen purple for a bridesmaid dress- just because it is especially beautiful on redheads/Bree. So I bet you look gorgeous.

Lisa, refreshing smoothie after walk, great idea! Have you tried kale frozen banana and rice milk? OMG, my blender almost vibrates off the counter. If it ever does fall, can you imagine the whirling green mess?

Roxie, are you spending about the same amt of time working out these days as you were? Same amt of time, more intense? Less time, more intense? More time more intense? Pay attention to what changes you make that end up with positive results and make sure you share!

Mary, did you do casino and free drinks? ; )

I'm prob gonna meet FF at Gander Mtn (an outdoor sporting goods store) for dinner. Now you know he's a country boy. : )

Well I'm all personals and no workout so far today. : ) I'm taking dd to a community service house painting thing. Maybe I'll stay and help but I need to check a few things off my list too. Including workout WXF.
And here is a random list of broken stuff in my house. microwave, computer mouse, coffee pot and hand mixer. The first two are especially inconvenient!

Hi girls! Quick hello, have to go work field day at youngest DS's schoold, tug of war etc. will get w/o in later! Ronne, have fun on date night! Love those. Jody, enjoy that fire man! We have Gander Mountain here! We did the garage sales, there was a ball game downtown, so we thought the casino would be too crowded! Maybe next week? Murphy, glad about the work out! Children are exhausting! Lisa, you are working him hard! Roxie, you trainer sounds like she is working you like you are on the chain gang! Have a good day, be back later! Mary

Haven't w/o yet but plan on LBB after I get my 1/2 day done working.

Ronne, I would think purple would be pretty too---I did wear purple at the wedding. Maybe you must show us a picture of you in the dress!

Jody, exercising your fingers chatting is not the same as a w/o...lol

Murphy, all I can do is bow to you with kids and w/o's. There USED to be a day I wished for work to rest, not anymore. When I left the work force on a leave a few yrs ago (kids were in HS), everyone thought I'd be back because of boredom (that's how I was when they were born). I loved being off! And lately after my hikes I'd much rather rest up more the day after than going to work, but those $ are always nice!

What does everyone have planned for the long weekend? Ronne, it's memorial day on Monday here. We have a family gathering with the Aunt/Uncle on DH side that moved from the family farm in NE CO (2.5 hrs away) to the town next to us since now the family farm is all sold off. DS23 and DIL will be coming with us as the newest married. Not a huge gathering, since not many stayed in CO, but will see the local ones that didn't make the wedding --not sure why (honestly I don't really know them that well, I only know the Aunt/Uncle). The best part? Aunt making SUSHI, yum!

Yes, sushi!!!!! she makes awesome food, very authentic since she was born and raised in Japan. Only moved to US to marry :)

I did my x factor workout, thank you very much! You know how sometimes your muscles start shaking like a chihuahua? I think that was happening deep in my glutes!

Sushi? Now I'm hungry.

LBB done! Whew, why didn't I remember all the cardio in this one? Ronne, I have my excuses for getting out of breath and pausing 1. I'm at a mile high...the air is thinner up here 2. I have a heart murmur 3. I wonder what second hand smoke did to my lungs during my childhood yrs. Those are my excuses and I"m sticking to them! Jody I may have had visions of chihuahua shaking in my glutes too, that LBB about did me in! Time to go eat and no food in the house, will have to settle for a second breakfast.

I'm back! Did Travel Fit, my band snapped in half, guess I have to go shopping! Field day was HOT! 3 hours on the black top, measuring the long jump! Thank goodness no one jumped too far! Lisa, enjoy your sushi! Never have tried it, not a big seafood person. Enjoy your aunts, we are going to inlaws to the beach house on Sunday. Jody, I might have to look into that system, sounds like you are really enjoying it! Ronne, I agree with Jody. I love purple! Out bedroom is lilac, so soothing. Roxie, where are you? Going out to dinner with friends, have a good evening! Mary

Mary, your fireman DH allows you to have a lilac bedroom? Mine is dusty rose, it's takes a confident, masculine man to sleep in a bedroom with these colors! :) ;-)

Good Evening,

I didn't sleep at all last night so getting up to go to the funeral was brutal and then I was almost late because I got out of town late so I drove over the speed limit to make it and I am glad I went there were alot of people that I hadn't seen since we moved and I found out some of my relations have moved to my area so it was a good day. Came home and DH and I went to Carlos O'Kelleys for supper. Tomarrow after I workout I am going out to DD's to help pack some more and then I think her and I are going to Kansas City shopping for appliances and other things.

Jody-she has me do some sort of cardio everyday for at least 30 mins and I was a little lax last week and I think thats why my body fat % went up.

Lisa-I like the auditions sometimes its the funniest part last nights were cute. Dusty Rose was one of our wedding colors.

Mary-just had a busy day.

Happy Saturday! Today did a Squeeze lower body mix, I think I will be feeling it later, Roxie, I'm sorry, don't know where my head was yesterday, forgot about the funeral. Glad you got to reunite with some relatives. Was that a Irish/Mexican restaurant? Have fun packing. Ronne, how was date night? Lisa, are you going to take DH hiking? My DH really doesn't care about colors! I could probably have our room in cotton candy pink, as long as he has a bed, he's happy! Jody, how was your fire boy? Murphy, what are you up to? Don't even want to tell you I am cleaning today! I wish it was the cleanest house! These children are walking destroyers! They do help me tho. I just can't relax with clutter around! Have a good day, tomorrow will be a rest day, I think! Mary

STS Disc 1 today, ch/sh/bi. DH will be leaving monday to San Fran this time. Today I'm having DH work on my computer and get my embroidery software on so I can start sewing again (the current computer it's on is ancient).

Roxie, sounds like a busy day.

Mary, My bff SHOULD be getting her parents to go back to live with her sister and hopefully that frees us up for hiking. DH and I will stick to the local trails for now. Talk about clutter? Add to the list of computer hard drive clutter! I have to move files to a shared hard drive to make room on my Mac for Windows and embroidery software. Gosh, sometimes digital clutter is worse!

Hi all

I did a workout so wanted to post. Haven't worked out at the weekend for ages! Did the Total Body Express PM off TBT. Really good. Felt very accomplished. Day of driving around, DD to gymnastics, supermarket, then DD to friend's house for sleepover. Just got back and am going to put my feet up in the garden for a few hours before going out. It's scorchio here!

Mary - date night is tonight. I was on my own last night with a glass of wine! That Field Day sounds tough - I didn't understand, I thought it was some kind of cleaning up the school grounds!

Lisa - you are definitely building up some surplus in your workout account! And yes, all excuses allowed!! My DH has a heart condition - the doctor asked him why he didn't take any medication and he said he doesn't want to, he eats well, exercises, doesn't smoke and drinks in moderation. The doctor said he wished he had more patients like that!!

Roxie - well, despite it being a sad occasion, it sounds like it was a good thing to go to the funeral and catch up with family. It's always good to renew old ties.

Jody - have fun with your man!!

Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend.

I think I about died of shock, Ronne worked out on the weekend?!?! :p Ronne, I pretend I don't have a heart murmur, then eventually I get a new doc and they are so surprised when they listen to my heart....YOU HAVE A HEART MURMUR! uh, yea. After lots of tests when I was 19 that showed that the valve doesn't close all the way but they determine that nothing needs done I just chose to forget about it. But if I ever have surgery (like when I had the endometrial ablation) or when I was preggo I always have to have more tests and EKG....probably to protect the docs more than me!
