40s - week of 5/16/11

Starting us off. Who's gonna play this week? I did B&G leg blast premix on saturday...I was really thinking, WHY did I pick this! Sunday I did TurboFire 30 min and her core for 20 min. Feeling low on energy because I'm emotionally drained.

Ronne,
Was watching Source Code and fell asleep 15 min into it and woke up about 2 min before it ended. I'm sure it must have been pretty good but I just couldn't stay awake since I'm just beat. So I woke up at 8pm, and went right to bed at 9pm (still couldn't stay awake). Hopefully I'm all rested up now from my emotionally draining few days and ready to get to work tomorrow.

Mary, Are you back from Disney yet?

Murphy, where have you been? We're now starting to get rain, thanks for sending it our way and for not sending it during graduation day :)

Hi Lisa

Well, I'm here again! That Leg Blast premix is an absolute killer!! That's the one with all those low-plane lunges which make my legs scream. Glad you're feeling a bit calmer now.

You haven't missed much with Source Code to be honest. The sleep probably did you more good :).

I watched Harry Potter 6 with DD last night - it was still light when we started watching it and the film is so dark it was hard to see what was going on!

Didn't fit any workouts in this weekend. Today was MMA KB. I like that it's a bit easier because it means I can concentrate on my form a bit better.

Hi girls! We are home at last! We got home late last night, to guess what? Rain! It was beautiful in Florida tho, 90's. The kids had a ball, it was fun to watch them. I never saw so many strollers, wheelchairs, and scooters in my life tho! I am glad to be home tho, I need to get back in my routine. We have a lot of wash to do, or rather I have a lot of wash to do! No workouts, lots of walking, does that count? I haven't gotten a workout in yet, still re-organizing our life. How is everyone? Lisa, how is DH feeling? Ronne, DH and I are going to see Bridesmaids this week. Murphy, what is new with you? I really need to get those suitcases up stairs! Hope everyone has a good day. Mary

Hi everyone! Today was BM2 UB premix minus the ab part. I needed an easier workout as I'm just totally spent still from all the emotional stuff going on.

Mary, welcome back, yes walking Disney counts as exercise! DH is feeling better, still a little pain, figure he's still healing but his urine is finally clear!

Ronne, good to know from a female perspective that I didn't miss anything with Source Code. I love MMA KB for an easier day, it's perfect for that.

I'm still so PO'd with everything that went down with DS22 and his fiance. I feel so used and hurt, but I guess those you love the most are the ones you hurt since you know they will forgive you. And as far as the fiance, she is a petulant spoiled brat, even DH is amazed she could just sit there like none of this was her fault and not feel bad that DS22 went to live with HER parents instead of with us like he said he would until they moved into the apartment. She has a lot of ground to make up with her relationship with her future in-laws. I'm shutting up as I don't want to stress my son out anymore. I only hope one day he wises up with her being such a spoiled brat (just like her Mom---the apple doesn't fall far from the tree).

Hi everyone

Lisa - the only thing you can do is rise above it - however galling that is. It's hard to shut up sometimes (I know!) but it sounds like the best thing you can do in the circumstances.

Mary - good to have you back! Glad you had a good time in Disney. What's Bridesmaids? Not heard of that one.

Treated myself to a facial today. Something I very rarely do. It was lovely! Didn't neglect the workouts though and managed the combined premix on KCM Split Sessions.

Today was Athlete Step....that one makes me feel so good about completing it.

Ronne, yes, rise above, and I am. DS22 came over yesterday and while I'm still hurt I know our relationship will be fine. The fiance will be harder for me to forgive and I hope as she matures and gets distance from her Mom that she will turn out to be good for my son. I'm a firm believer in everything happening for a reason although we may never know why.

Now to brag, some more. DS19 maintained his 4.0! AND one of the professors is suggesting he be part of an undergraduate research assistant position at the school. He is also going to be a tutor next semester too. The professors are recognizing his amazing ability.

Gotta get to work......

Hi girls! Yesterday I did the bike, today was MM. I was able to get all the wash done from vacation yesterday and actually put it away too! Today I will tackle the house. How does it get dirty when no one is here? Anyway, Lisa congrats to your youngest! Very impressive. I wish I had some words of wisdom about your eldest. Maybe the girl just needs to mature a little? Maybe these are growing pains? Ronne, I had a facial once, I didn't like being under the microscope! Hope everyone has a good day! Mary

Mary, yes she probably has been under her Mom's thumb with hardly any experience or thoughts of her own. My youngest who is a year younger than her is more mature! Her Mom wouldn't allow her kids to work while in school so she didn't have her first job until 19! My kids have worked summers since they were 15, it didn't hurt them one bit! They've had credit cards since then too (with a limit), AND I put them on as authorized users on our cards since they were 10 or so(without telling them) so they could build their credit from our credit. My son has an amazing FICO score and he knows not to abuse it.

I'm coming around to accepting things but the fact that I had to be the one hurt didn't seem fair when all I've done is try to help these kids navigate adulthood and hopefully learn from my experiences. On some conversations with my son I see he is finally getting the fiance to execute on some things that I've been pestering them to do (like getting a secured credit card to built her credit AND then respecting that credit!) I have faith it will all work out as I've taught my son well AND he's gotten an engineering degree in the toughest college in CO.

Hi all. I have yet another cold. I think it was the 6 days of jury duty then going back to a pile of ASAP work at the office then home issues and life stuff. OMG, I think I stay sick. I have been running myself ragged, not sleeping well and not eating. No wonder I am sick.

Lisa - did you send the rain back? It has been raining all week.

Murphy, nope the rain is still here (had a couple days break), but it sounds like I sent all my stress to you. I'm trying to embrace waking up at 2am every morning and tell myself it's my quiet time to read  It's irritating the lack of a good night's sleep. Thankfully no sickness and unfortunately I'm still eating (seems I can never give up food). Have you lost any weight because of all this?

Hi all

Murph - I'm sending a big box of tissues and warm blankets for you (plus stuff to keep the kids occupied and out of your way!!)

Lisa - congrats to your younger DS. He's really doing well isn't he? Helps balance out the stress ;)! Lack of sleep is horrible and always makes everything else seem worse.

Mary - sounds like you've thrown yourself back into the routine already!

DH got back from Germany last night - he'd been to visit friends for a few days. Sounds like he had a great time - it's good to have him home again.

Today was Boxing - threw some great punches for projects I'm working on!!:D
Taking DD to the doctor after school - she's been complaining about her ear bothering her for a while. I don't think it's anything significant but we'll see what they say.

Hi everyone! Did the TM today and floor work from PLB. Murphy, sorry to hear you are sick! I'm sure being stuck with all those strangers on jury duty contributed to it. Ronne, hope your daughter feels better, maybe some sinus issues? Lisa,it is still raining here! It is crazy, our lawn is almost 6 inches high! It is so wet and still raining we can't get out there! Hope everyone has a good day! Talk to you tomorrow, Mary

I am feeling better today - ears are still a bit clogged, I am still blowing my nose every few minutes and my head still feels like it is 10 pounds by itself. Yep, I am feeling better - imagine what I felt like before!

Lisa - funny you mentioned weight loss. I have lost some weight. I am tempted to run to my Weight Watchers meeting so I can weign-in under my "sickness weight loss." :)

Murphy

AH, I slept sooooo well last night that I did CCC! Yay me!

Murphy, yay, weight loss! Now to keep it :)

Ronne, punch them projects out and punch some for me! Work has been CRAZY today (that's what I get for taking it easy yesterday while working from home).

Mary, all day drizzle/rain here, in fact tornado warnings over by my house (guess it's good I'm at work), good thing DH works in the basement :)

Hi all

Lisa - go you! CCC is an achievement! Glad to hear you slept better. I had a lousy night - couldn't get to sleep for worrying about a new job I'd been given. Anyway I pulled out of it this morning and I feel so much better!

Murph - glad to hear you're on the mend.

Mary - those froggy roll-in things in PLB absolutely kill me. I always give up before the end! All clear from the doctor for DD, she's got a nasal spray as it might be hay fever related but no infection so that's good news.

Today was a light day - just did the step portion of C&W. I really like the music in that one so it always makes me smile.

Good morning! Today was PUB. There is a break in the rain today, going to work on the field that grew out there! We were going to go to the movies today, but now not sure because of that darn grass! Ronne, good to hear about your DD. I have to admit I follow Brenda when they do those frog roll ins! They are about impossible! Murphy, you sound like you were miserable! Lisa, I still avoid CCC! You must have had some energy! Well, off I go! Mary

Today I did the original bootcamp. I woke up and my body hurt, DOMS in hip flexors majorly! When I did front kicks today, OUCH!

Saw DS22 yesterday, he got the fiance to agree to cut the wedding by $5000 (that's better than nothing). they are set to move in the apartment Friday, but will only have bedroom furniture for the next 8 days, so fiance wants to stay at her parents. OMG! DS22 said, I'm living in the apartment no matter where you are staying. YA! He is really fed up with her Mom (guess they've gotten into yelling at each other). The mom was wanting them to live with her for the next year since her DD hasn't lived away from home and she thinks she can grow to be independant the next year while living at home. OMG! See what I've been up against (and you all have only heard a little bit of the mess)? I'm happy to say though that my DS22 is smart and turning into a beautiful man. He has his head on straight (from good parenting...lol )

Mary, we are going to have rain for 2 to 3 straight days. I'm not into doing yardwork lately. When I'm off work I just want to relax, I don't want to spent time doing yardwork....I am not a gardener at all!

Ronne, those froggy roll in things are killer. The floor work of GS Legs is the worst! Anymore, I don't beat myself up about not doing the full monty.

I may take a rest day tomorrow, as I may help DS22 move. Turns out the future in-laws may not be able to help, so after some discussion I told him I could help as long as I didn't need to see any of her family beause I have no desire to see them, we will never be friends (they just aren't my type...ie. their type is STUPIDITY).

I've been singing that song in my head (Momma's don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys). But instead of those words, I say (Momma's don't let your sons grow up to fall in love with a stupid woman). :p:eek:

Hey, nurse Mary, is stupidity passed down in DNA? I hope not! I don't want stupid grandchildren. (I'm bad I know, still dealing with more issues, sigh)
