40's - week of 4/22/12

Good Evening,

I couldn't do the Body Pump class it was full within minutes of last class ending and everyone knew what they were doing I felt out of place. I came home and did KCM's MD #1.

Ugh, Roxie, and you know you could meet every challenge in that class so too bad it didn't feel right. But that is why we love our home workouts, our terms, our schedule and we don't have to fight for a spot in front.

Lisa, very happy family-- I come home to find dd has the Hunger Games 2 of 3 booted up on her computer and she has her computer hooked up to new flat screen.

No evening w/o for me, there's always tomorrow, right? I've been wheezing a bit from being out in all the allergens yesterday.

I ordered a bath mat ($30) from Bed bath beyond because the store I went to didn't have the color that I needed(I had seen the color at a different store...go figure), it came today....it ended up being a vitamix blender...looked up the cost--$500! Guess the picker picked the wrong item, lucky me. I may be joining you Roxie on lots of fresh fruits/veggies. Maybe I'll get healthier! Now I still have to get that bath mat....at least I know which BBB has it :)

Jody, do not, I repeat, do not pass me up in 50 shades! I just don't know where the time is going......I'm glad I'm making your family happy. I feel like I've been winning all week. $275 credit on glass, $500 vitamix blender for $30 bath rug order, I better get to Vegas quick before my luck runs out!

Roxie, this little gym excursion will validate WHY we love our home workouts!

Off to bed, not sure what I accomplished today, but somehow i was busy all day....oh yea, most of the day was me dragging my butt around saying how tired I was from the hike and coughing up allergy congestion. I swear it takes longer to recover the older I get!

Hello

Jody - Harold Robbins!! That takes me back - I used to read my mum's old copies of those when I was a teenager!! And Valley of the Dolls!

Roxie - like Jody says, that's why we workout at home. It's just so much easier!

Lisa - wow, can you send some of this luck my way please? So, do you get to keep the blender because they made a mistake?

Mary - what you cleaning today?!!

Planning on PP today - just over the 30 min mark but I'll get everything done in one hit. Gymnastics tonight for DD, think I might take myself off for a coffee and a treat - considering I haven't been out of the house yet this week!! Yes, my shameful secret, there are days I don't even leave the house! I'm starting to go a bit mad actually ...

Hi girls! Today will be GS BS & B and maybe some cardio. Then will start the kitchen. Ronne, I loved Valley of the Dolls! I think it was my first "grown up" book! I totally forgot about about Harold Robbins too! I get to be a bit of a hermit too when I'm not working. I am perfectly happy in my house! Lisa, we have a vitamix outlet store right by us, have never been in it. I know they are pricey. Do you know how to use it? Hope you are feeling better. Roxie, I took a body pump class once. Kind of like PH. I don't do well in a gym, I get nervous working out with others. I can keep up with myself, I always compare to others and they always seem better! Jody, DS loved the Hunger Games, haven't read it myself. The whole idea doesn't appeal to me. I'm reading Sopie Kinsellas new one, then I will tackle Shades of Gray! Hi Murphy! Happy Thursday! Mary

Good Morning,

I didn't sleep well at all last night so I am exhausted today. We went for our morning walk and now I am ready for bed. Tonite if I can handle it will be C&W, suppose to do LIC but not up for that one. I get my PT session tomarrow and then I will probably get on the Elliptical for 30mins before I go home.

Lisa-DH downloaded Nora Roberts new one and Nicholas Sparks new one You Belong To Me can't wait to start reading them.

Jody-I don't when I became so wussy about being in a class. There is another one Saturday morning I will see how busy that one is.

Ronne-on Sundays I never leave my house unless I don't get stuff done on Saturday.

Mary-glad you understand where I am coming from.

Hi everyone! THE SHOWER IS WONDERFUL !!!! It's BIG, can't wait to share it with DH :) I did a mish-mosh workout. BM2 warmup and then all the step combos combined, then I put in SB and did from the Step Blast Challenge and the blasts and stretch. 35 min. I plan to just do Core Max seg 2 tonight.

Ronne, yes I get to keep it, as far as they are concerned I got my rug that was on the packing list :) I'm a home body, I love being in my home.

Mary, funny you ask if I know how to use it! I would have thought the same thing. It has a cookbook and dvd with it (for $500 what would you expect, right?) It even makes nut butters, YUM, now I can make my own. You also can use the core and seeds of an apple, more fiber for me! Also for a pineapple you use the core and all. Should be interesting :)

Roxie, are you not joining us with 50 shades of Grey? Jody's description is right on :)

Jody, I read Harold Robbins too, but I never can remember what I read :) Also Jackie Collins was a bit of a steamy author too :) I have only 150 pgs left in 50 shades, they go fast. I wanted to read more last night but I thought it would be better to get some sleep. I'm amazed I didn't have wild dreams :)

It's take your children to work day here, is it for any of you? Contractors couldn't bring their kids, but there are still enough of them here, a bit distracting.

No w/o. My ankle was acting up from the twisting. Maybe b/c of the rain. Great, as if I don't have enough weather related aches and pains. I got a glimpse of my jelly roll abs this morning. Well, it is smaller but still not where I want it to be. I decided to put one of the ab dvd's in my bedroom. This way, there is no excuse for not doing a quick 15-20 workout when I am bored or cannot sleep - but of course I will find an excuse! ;-)

Hi to all.

Murphy

I'm prob not gonna workout either other than dance- I've got the Roxie-Lisas (woke up at 345 this morning). I feel cruddy. Up side, nice last day of regular class- math students brought cupcakes and stuff and we had a little party. Its been a wonderful group of people to work with and I've really enjoyed getting to know them.

Ronne, yes, to Jac. Susann. Sigh, I loved the heartache of a good trashy romance. Did anyone / everyone read Forever Amber? I have a much harder time reading that stuff nowadays, its just much harder to buy into.

OK, must plan dance class.

Hello

Murphy - sorry about the ankle - bad luck!

Roxie - I know how you feel. I had a bad night last night - thought I heard DD wake up (she hadn't) then couldn't get back to sleep again. I've got dark shadows etched on my face!

Lisa - woohoo - sounds like you're enjoying the new shower. Good mash-up workout as well.

Jody - yeah, they're the kind of books you read in your late teens when you know nothing! I don't know Forever Amber. Did you read Scruples? Infamous quote 'Which one of you four bitches is my mother?'!

Mary - GS and cardio? Very impressive!

Did a 30min Kickbox Surge premix. Heard from DH in Scotland, sleet and snow, poor thing. Friday afternoon and I'm fed up with working!! Got to concentrate ...

I'm skipping my w/o. Started a headache and I just feel physically exhausted (must be that hike).

Ronne, I'm fed up with working too, thing is, I'm not really doing any work, it's tiring pretending I'm working....I keep wondering how long this can go on for.

Murphy, I took the excuse for no w/o today, so you must do one today :)

Hello's to Jody, Roxie, Mary....I'm not thinking clearly, hope the headache goes away before DH and I start our weekend early (we take off work by noon on fridays).

Oh and forgot to mention, I"m just tired of trying to find something for my sister to do while here for the wedding. She claims she can only stand/walk for 15 min because of the PF (WTF?) Colorado is an active state, there isn't much to do that doesn't require you to walk! I kidded around that I should get a wheelchair and push her around the handicap accessible trails, she thought that might be a good idea. WTF? unbelievable!

Lisa - forgive me chiming in here but why do you have to find things for your sister to do? If I'm invited to a wedding I don't expect the groom's mother to find things to keep me occupied. I imagine that the groom's mother probably has enough on her plate without looking after me ... Also, I'm an adult with the internet at my fingertips - I can look for things myself, particularly if I have special needs!

Good Morning,

I didn't sleep well again last night but I made it to the gym to meet with the PT and she was very informative and I think she could be very motivating, I however did not like their scale it has me 8lbs heavier then mine ruined my whole day. I have another appointment next Tuesday its my second session and we will start the real workouts today was a get to know my goals and such. I really want to do this for a while but I would have to get a gym membership and then her sessions are 269.00 for 3 months 2 times a week. I came home and did KCM's CB #2 and I want to attend a spin class tonite. Forgot to mention I am feeling really fat today.

Ronne-hope you sleep better.

Lisa-hope you feel better and congrats on finishing the shower.

Ronne, originally she was going to do some hiking with me, so she is here for one day (thankfully she reduced her time) without anyone or any transportation. Well, with her being such a wimp with her PF and her not wanting to damage it further because she is going to Italy for my brother's 50th birthday party I don't want to be blamed for damaging it further. I've decided she can figure out what she wants to do for the one day, and her and her DH can figure out what they want to do for the weekend after the wedding and we will take them. I can't handle planning something for someone that I feel is just being a wimp all because they won't take an Advil. She refuses to take any drugs. As you can read, I'm fed up with the whole situation!

HI girls! Today was GS legs, my green band broke, I had to use a blue one, I am feeling it! Lisa, sorry to hear about your sister. Sounds frustrating to say the least. I wish I had words of wisdom, but all I have is wise cracks! You and DH can try your shower out this weekend! That will be fun! Roxie, don't believe that scale! Believe yours! Sounds pricey for the training, are you going to do it? Ronne, are the birds flying in the cold? Or is he having to warm up with some sherry? Murphy, how is your ankle? Be careful! Jody, how was dance class? Is this your permanent class? Kitchen cupboards done! Now I have to go upstairs! That will be a challenge I will put off until next week! Have a good day, Mary

Hi all. Ankle is better but calves are so tight. I thought some yoga would stretch them out in a good way, but they are still tight. ???? Could the power walk cause it? Maybe I need better shoes, they were my regular walking shoes that I wear for everything. Next time I will use my w/o only shoes.

Well it doesn't look like I am going to make it to the gym tonite we are in a tornado watch I would prefer to be close to a basement.

Murphy-glad to hear ankle is better and yes the power walk could make your calves tight and a good pair of shoes would help.

murphy I found I've needed more supportive shoes the older I've gotten. I know you're the baby of the group here. :)
