40's - week of 2/19/12

Got my stitches out, and that big ole ugly scab gone too. Maybe I can wash my hair without fear now (I'm such a wuss with stitches). Scheduled my mammo for tomorrow and gyn for a couple of weeks. Nothing like the fear of changing insurance and potentially paying more for preventative care to get me to go! Looks like we will get formal offer for DH on Friday. Scary, but we figure this way we control our own destiny vs him getting caught in a lay off (remember when that almost happened?)

Murphy, I love AB, for some reason I haven't clicked with AT

Jody, sounds maybe like too much protein?

Mary/Roxie, I'm taking DH's Restoril to try to get sleep tonight, if it works I'm going to have the gyn write me a RX. The thing is, I'm always sure I'll sleep so I don't take anything and then never do sleep! I need to get better about taking something when it's been going on for so many days straight. I really try not to take too much stuff.

Good Evening,

Tonite was EB's Burn and Firm Pilates and then Total Body Stretching,

Ronne-it must have spread to the US because that is all everyone is talking about over here.

oh wait, I wikied Pancake Tues. Why have I never heard of this? Well, if we lived in Iceland, we'd have been eating salted meat and peas, so Yea for pancakes! Have a fun day everyone. No w/o for me.

Hi everyone

Lisa - what a relief to get the stitiches out. Looks like you're having a full service at the moment! Rather you than me! Now please stop reading in case I say anything else to jinx you!! :D

Jody - I'm sure you've already found all this out but Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. So people used to eat as much fat and sugar as possible before fasting for Lent. It's not a British thing - probably Catholic church originally. That's where Mardi Gras comes from (Fat Tuesday!). You can put your books and pens away now - there'll be a test later!! :p

Roxie - see above - you will also be tested later!! :D

Murphy - I'm looking forward to the new workouts as well - I just hope they're not harder than AB and AT.

Mary - so did you find a film to see?

GSCT today. Struggled a bit for some reason. I didn't feel too good last night - had a bad headache and the pills didn't work very well. I even had a bath which I never do! I'll blame it on that anyway!
Up earlier for present opening this morning. DD was very pleased with all her presents. LISA LOOK AWAY NOW! We're having birthday cake later! :)

Did CTX UB PM today. I've had some DOMS since my little hiatus. Slept a bit better, woke up at 3:30, not sure if it was the wind blowing that woke me up....70 mph winds, windows rattling. Hate the winds! The blow down off the foothills of the mountains and pick up speed.

Ronne, enjoy the cake! I need to get my eating back on track from my indulgence during my illness! Need to make sure I can still fit into the dress I bought for DS's wedding in May! Dare I admit that it's been 5 yrs since my mammo? Mary/Roxie, don't yell at me! I got tired of the false positives, I hope the technology is better now with the digital mammo and I don't get a false positive again.

Murphy, I did buy the new workouts...I decided on the download version. I didn't want to pay shipping for the DVDs and I didn't need anything else to add to the order to get free shipping. I think the price point was planned!

Good Morning,

Wow a test later I can't wait. Sure alot of stuff directed at Lisa, I want cake. Tonite for me is Ellen Barretts Fat Burning Pilates, I love these workouts low impact but a good workout.

Lisa-GET THAT MAMMOGRAM DONE. I didn't have a false positive I am questioning the ability of the machine and the sonogram I had done to detect anything I can still feel a slight lump.

Ronne-they like to do them here in your 40's to get a baseline for your 50 mammogram.

I've never felt any lump. Had false positive at 38 when I went in just because they wanted a baseline....lots of $ later...nothing. Repeat the next few years, got fed up. Gyn's like for you to have them in the 40's my primary dr says 50 is fine. I just figure I better get it done since it's been awhile and I'm not sure if the next ins we have will cover them 100% like the current one does (only first films, subsequent and ultrasounds aren't covered, lots of $ out of pocket). Plus I guess I'm not getting any younger....sliding fast toward 48!

I'm thinking I need to move to Europe since I've been living a European type lifestyle with not having a mammo. That way I would be legal! :)

Unplanned rest day. The little one woke-me up to tell me she had a bad dream and conned her way into the bed. She had a restful night. :)

Ronne - I don't know how they do mammogram's over there, but here, they SMASH your breast between two plates, tell you not to move (breathe) and then they take the picture. Funny, they don't have anything like that for men!

Murphy

Hi all! Needed a fast w/o, did CSS. Lisa, did you take the Restoril? I hope you sleep all night tonight. Murphy, enjoy that little one in bed with you. Tho they do take up most of the bed, that"s why we got a king size bed, sometimes still not big enough! Ronne, Murphy is right about the smashing. I don't even want to tell you what they did when I had to have my biopsy. Stuff of nightmares. Lisa, get that mammogram! Just get it done, it is peace of mind. Roxie, how was work? Any better? HI Jody! Have a good night! Mary

Good Evening,

Tonite I did Ellen Barretts Fat Burning Pilates.

Mary-I was on oxygen rounds most of the day and when I got back to the store they left but you can tell she is not a happy camper right now.

Hello

Well, thanks for all the mammogram info. Can't wait!

Today was CTX 10-10-10 (just cardio) plus Ab Circuits Weights and Plates - the weights bit was hard but I found the plates section a bit easier thanks to all the LIS stuff! Quick post today - off to get school shoes for DD.

Good Morning,

Tonite for me is Ellen Barretts Zen Sculpt Pilates and I don't know why I thought pilates was good for a rest week these are kicking my butt.

Ronne-have fun finding shoes. My oldest DD (26) and I are going to spend the day together tomarrow and go shopping.

The Restoril was divine! Got really good sleep last night. Will definitely ask gyn for RX. I wear those aloe socks to bed but after about 3 hrs I wake up because my feet are hot to take them off (most of the time I don't remember doing this). Last night, I didn't wake up until 6.5 hrs later to take them off---that was my standard 3am wake time...worried I wouldn't get back to sleep, I DID! I was also worried all the wind would keep me awake, it didn't, not sure when the 70mph winds finally died down. Hate the wind....our fence is down now too :( There was a fire in the fields right by work, they got it out relatively easily, glad I wasn't at work because traffic got really snarled. It's a blessing I had that mammo! I got in 4DS double cardio PM. Kicked my butt but I'm starting to get back in the swing of working out.

Mary/Murphy, our king size bed is not big enough for just the 2 of us! We each like our own sleeping space (or at least I do). DH was always the one to sleep with the kids, I just can't sleep with someone on top of me!

Ronne, oh yes, it was so joyous yesterday. I really don't mind the process too bad, I just hated being called back for additional views. Keeping fingers crossed that they don't need additional views this time since it's digital and supposedly better for dense breasts.

Roxie, enjoy shopping, anything special you or DD are looking for?

Jody, what's up with you? staying busy?

Lisa-no we both have the day off and she needs to get her rings and necklaces cleaned so we are just going to hang out.

Another unplanned rest day - which is actually not a bad thing because I still have some DOMS. DH was snoring like he was going for the olympics! :) Well, okay, maybe not that but it still wakes me up.

Hi girls! Did L&G today, that one is so much fun! Lisa, thank goodness for a full night's sleep! Changes the whole world, doesn't it? Glad you got your mammogram done! Roxie, I have only tried pilates once, didn't really care for it. Maybe I should give it another go since I kind of like the yoga? Enjoy your day off tomorrow. Ronne, hope you found a pair of shoes for yourself too! Murphy, my DH snores also, as long as I fall asleep before him, I'm good. It can be painful listening to the racket! Jody, you must be doing a lot of school work? Til tomorrow, Mary

Good Evening,

Zen Sculpt done not liking the calorie burn but this is suppose to be something like a rest week.

Mary-I only like Ellen's Pilate workouts can't do the others.

Hi! I've been usual MTW busy and didn't work out on M or W.

Today I did BM2 upper body portion and abs, not the dble premix. I managed to slip off the ball and land on my tail bone. I swore. But no lasting pain so no biggie. I also did my walk/run/sprint/push up/dips TKD routine this eve. Tomorrow I'm planning on giving Plyo Legs a go.

BTW, when I do my eve jog, it is usually dusk-->dark. Tonight some guy passed me on roller blades wearing a headlight. I thought I was pushing my luck w/ uneven sidewalks and tree roots and intersections- I think skating much riskier!

Roxie, good job keeping it mixed up and keeping your body guessing. Try to enjoy the rest week! When is the last day your soon to be departed co worker leaves?

Murphy, Sounds like being a wife and mom aren't very conducive to good sleep lately!

Hi to Lisa, Mary and Ronne! I'm gonna see if the Survivor is avail on Demand this eve. My girls and I enjoy~
