40's - week 8/12/12

fitover40

Cathlete
starting the thread, back later to report w/o. Legs are still sore but I think I will be able to do some UB.

Hi everyone! Today did the rower and YM. Lisa, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Roxie, how was the trip? Ronne, have a ball! Murphy, what are you up to? Jody, what fun did you fine this weekend? Today we are going to the Corn Festival? DH is in a corn hole tournament. Last night took the kids to the drive in. Wrong movie choice! A little too mature! We saw The Campaign, funny, but a lot of "cover your ears, cover your eyes"! Hope everyone has a good day, Mary

I did TTM without the core but added the sg and fitness tabatas. I might practice some dances later and add the core in then.

Mary, corn fest and drive-ins sound fun. That's a Will Ferrell movie? I watched Bridesmaids and The Kids Are Alright on HBO last night, I thought both were good.

Welcome back Roxie, I hope your reentry into home life is smooth.

Lisa, Happy BD week to you! I'm picturing you as a noodle from the waist down, trying to do some bicep curls in a valiant effort to stay caught up.

Waves to Murphy and Ronne who is probably already packed and ready to roll.

Oh, some of the Olympics that I caught this weekend was most fun to watch - I'd never seen rhythmic gymnastics, men's pentathalon (a combo of swim, equestrian, running and shooting guns and something else) and mountain biking (crazy course). Good bye Olympics and thank you London for hosting.

Did 4DS UB PM, skipped a couple of rounds where I don't like the exercises, so came in at 60 min. Then proceeded to vacuum and mop. A bit ticked the cleaning lady totally missed the floor in the bathroom where the toilet is, I swear there is a layer of dust an inch thick(ok well maybe not quite an inch). Very seriously considering letting her go and just get myself on a schedule, and DH says he'll help (guess he's tired of hearing me complain, but he is also appalled at the lousy job she did since I made him clean those areas :) )

Roxie, glad you are feeling better, I bet the altitude and some allergies did you in. After a hike I always have major allergies...I get them and it feels like I'm sick. Hope you enjoyed your trip.

Jody, Quads, toes, calves still hurt (in that order). Toes from hitting against the boots on the way down, hate that. I really didn't think I was THAT out of shape. Figured I"d probably take a rest day this week sometime so bit the bullet and did the UB work (though my body was generally tired still). Sounds like you have a lot of w/o in store. Go you!

Mary, that sounds like a fun time. Awkward movie moments.....first of many to come :)

Waves to Murphy, she's probably doing some crazy w/o with assistants.

Ms. Holiday, Ronne, have a great time!

Good Evening,

I got my laundry caught up and then swept, and mopped the kitchen then DH and I went to the lake now I am watching the closing ceremonies.

Mary-the trip was a blast, I can't wait to go back sometime.

Lisa-I totally enjoyed your state, if you have never been to Mesa Verde you need to go I swear I heard more accents there then any other place and the cliff dwellings are cool.

Jody-I don't much care for the Rythmic Gymnastics or Synchronized Swimming just don't get it.

Ronne-have fun on your holiday

Did a CF premix. The one with less impact and bonus core. It was still 56 min. Yesterday was a rest day. My body just felt like a rest plus, oldest DD has been throwing up off and on since 4am Sunday morning. We are off to the doctor soon, when they open.

Waves to all, need to check on DD.

Murphy

Hi everyone, as I thought would happen, I slept in late, so no w/o. I didn't even do my hair before I went to work, I figured it was good enough! My body is still just tuckered out (at least the DOMS are gone and I can sit on the throne easily again :) )

Roxie, Glad you enjoyed your vacation, I'm partial to my state :) I found it interesting that you found hiking a bit more difficult. The altitude will really affect you flat landers :)

Murphy, hope DD gets to feeling better soon.

Waves to everyone else! Happy Monday! (I'm trying to convince myself that it's good that it's Monday, was not ready for work today).

Mary, when do the kids go back and when do you join the work force again? I want to spread the misery, er, I mean fun.

Hi girls! Today did Jari, original Ripped and rower. Murphy, hope DD feels better and it doesn't spread! Roxie, hope work goes well today. Lisa, kids go back next Thursday. I go back in September. Kind of excited, kind of not! Ronne must be away all ready. Jody, what are you up to today? Lisa, I think that hike last week took care of a weeks worth of work outs! Taking kids to pool, have a good day! Mary

Good Afternoon,

I am still trying to get caught up they were busy while I was gone. I am extremely tired this afternoon my body must be adjusting to the time zone difference. I have a PT session tonite and then I am going to do the elliptical. Sorry no time for personals except to Murphy I hope DD feels better soon, my oldest turns 27 today.

Roxie, happy bd to your dd. You hit the ground running after your vacation. Mary, you guys do a nice job of doing stuff as a family, you've been busy all summer. Lisa, hope your Monday turned out ok. Probably good to have a few recovery days after an all day intensive workout like your hike. Murphy, some of the premixes are pm -Longs rather than PM -shorts on a lot of Cathe's dvds, she's tricky, lol.
I did Intensity and at the end added the BC chapter. Should have done it earlier in the day, I feel much better. I must have needed a bolus of endorphins.

Am on week 3 of the rotation - I am doing it backwards. Just finsished STS M2W1 back/biceps. I went heavier and it felt good. Of course that is today, let's see what tomorrow holds! ;-)

DD is much better today but am letting her sleep in a bit. Waves to all.

Murphy

My biopsies came back normal cells, yea!
Dance and jog tonight, so I should do some wts today. Maybe a circuit like CW.
Weirdest things I've eaten lately- collard greens smoothie for breakie (no fruit, just unsweetened soy milk and greens and green powders) and sardines for dinner (never ate them before).
whew
ps, good job on rotation Murphy plus : ) for dd better.

Jody, did you have an abnormal pap? I've had those before :( They had to scrap out the areas they saw something (or something like that), not fun, crampy, ugh. Glad it all went ok. Oh, I've also had an endometrial biopsey before my ablation, again, not fun. I feel for ya!

Good Morning,

The PT kicked my butt again I swear she spends all day on the internet trying to figure out new ways to torture me and then I did the elliptical. Tonite will be the TM. Temps are great here but its raining today which is something we really need.

I ATTEMPTED SB, I quickly realized that my legs are still fatiqued from the hike. Even my toes still hurt. I modified, but finally by the end of the 3rd combo, my body said enough.

Mary, enjoy your pool days while you can!

Roxie, we had a nice day yesterday, hot again today/tomorrow then another nice day, I see the end of the high bugs.....soooooooon. We still need rain.

Murphy, WTG on upping the weights. I feel like such a laggard lately, with recovering from surgery, then recovering from my hike, and let's not mention that I think I expanded some in my belly....hmmmmmmmm

Hi girls! Today did the TM and rower. Did intervals and hills. Jody Happy Dance for you! What a relief! Lisa, that sounded like a brutal hike! What about some....yoga? I know you don't like it, it might help stretch out all this muscles? Murphy, glad to hear DD is on the mend. Roxie, what did she do to you?! Today I think will be some school shopping, raining here. The twins are bleeding me dry! With band, cross country (shoes, hoodies, bags, pictures). Bus fees for traveling. I have to get back to work just to get more money!, have a good day! Mary

Lisa, following up w/ Mary's suggestion, did you see Cathe's newsletter said yoga was the best for stress reduction, better than walking? Just a thought. You and I are both in the No Yoga club, maybe we should reconsider.

I had endometrial and other bx last week. Yes, relief and happy dance, thank you Mary.

Roxie, you are gonna be sad without your PT to kick your butt around, lol. Are you going to sign up for another tour of duty?

I'm thinking about STS once I shed some more poundages. I think xtrain would be more to my liking tho. Is there anyway to shorten up/modify the STS so its a little shorter and more do able? I did LIC today including abs and the bonus cardio.

Jody-I would love to keep working with her but I just can't afford to. Happy to hear everything went ok.

Mary-sqauts with 15lb dumbells, planks for a minute, dive bombers x2 then into a plank walk up into a jumping jack, 20lb kettlebell squat shuffles for a minute, from knees up into a leg slap jump high knees all repeated 3 times.

YOGA?!?!?!? That's like torture, I'd much rather have all my teeth pulled....I sit there (non limber me) and then just start thinking of everything else I really should be doing! I think I'll just be doing an UB tomorrow. yea, yea, I read how yoga's better for stress, I just can't stay still that long.

Jody, so glad everything came out for the best! I find that I can break up Meso 2 since she does the exercises in muscle groupings.

Roxie, I bet it's very motivating having someone push you. I know I've been slacking lately.....
