40s, new week, new workouts-11/21/10

Hey, I thought I'd post today since I know Monday I will be limited on time.

I got the new workouts downloaded. I barely survived Intensity yesterday. 15 min in I thought, not so bad and then, WHAM, 4 sets of power 15s and non stop step/blasts and more power 7's, and power 15's. I swear I had to hit pause every 3 min. I made it to 30 min when Cathe said to get some water and I took her up on a LONG water break. AFter that started high intensity floorwork (1st 30 min was step), that was more doable since I could dial it down a notch. Then 15 min later was low intensity --- another gift. I felt so accomplished and glad I hung in there.

Today I did high reps, I was going to do STS total body but I read they the exercises are supposed to be put in the workout manager so I decided on high reps. Thankfully it's NOTHING like Jari Love, but it is intense (don't let the light weights fool you). The music is hip and the latest songs---there's one song I've heard before during the biceps that I want to know what it is. Anyway, I loved the paper plate section, the cross back lunges is a similar move that Chalene did and gets the glutes good. Instead of a paper plate I used a dusting rag on my mats, it slide real good. My glutes are feeling it now. I finished up with Intensity Bootcamp little premix of 12 min, a nice little add on, I was so wiped out I stuck with 8lb dumbbells and didn't try to graduate to 10 lbs. Oh, and I matched Cathe and crews outfits in High reps...turquoise...in fact I figure my outfit was most like Jai's, wish my body was! One other thing that was nice is during pushups Cede was on her knees (made me feel like less of a whimp) and another pushup section Brenda and one of the new girls were too. The new girls are good for a change up, but Jai looked fabulous!
 
Hey everyone, quick post again. Today my glutes were sore from high reps yesterday (not can't sit on the toilet sore, but a good sore). I did TF EZ55.

I almost wanted to do Intensity again but didn't think I would get through :) It is as intense as CCC but more fun to sum it up

I had an unexpected rest day today. The alarm clock sound was turned off so I did not wake up. I tried to GS chest and triceps on Sunday but my "assistant" decided she wanted to try it too. She wanted to use the step for the bench and "let me" use an old The Firm Transformer step as my bench. That bench is so small next to a regular bench that is was crazy but, it was easier to use that than to argue with a 5 year old! Then the 3 year old comes down and wants to do some of the band work. The played with those bands for the rest of the weekend. The 3 year old dragged one band around the house and told me it was her kitten on a leash!

Anyway, I am so jealous of everyone who downloaded the dvd's. I probably would not have had a chance to do anything but I would have had them - and that is all that matters. :) I read one posting from a person in NJ that said she received hers today so hopefully, being a fellow NJ-ian, that means mine will be there today too. I am really looking forward to it - I think. :-0

Lisa - thanks for the reviews! Intensity and High Reps both sound excellent. I like the idea of a more fun CCC. Looking forward to hearing that music as well.

Murphy - your post really made me smile. I can just picture your little one dragging the band around, that is brilliant!

Mary - it's pretty miserable here as well, there may be some snow on the way at the end of the week, yuck!

Well, I had a good day on Friday. Got some presents and also saw stuff I'm going to buy for people so I feel like Christmas is almost sorted! I also got myself some jeans and two tops from Gap. This is not bragging but I bought US size 6 jeans (I'm usually 8). I was very surprised!
Been working most of the weekend as it's so busy, I did just the cardio from 4DS KB yesterday. Today was LIC which I really enjoyed! It's got some good music in it.

I'm quite glad I'll have to wait a bit for the DVDs as I want to finish my rotation. I've also ordered three DVDs from Collage: Strike Zone and the two new Michelle Dozois ones which people have been raving about. So that's December sorted!

HI Everyone, trying to make this a quick post. I'm posting before I head out to work, the last day I'm working this week. I guess SOME think that contractors should work all the time and was amazed I was taking off....my team lead expected it though! :)

I did LBB today. I like those paper plate moves. the elevated lunges killed me....you know when Cathe says she isn't using weights that it's gonna be bad :)

Oh, I got my DVDs too. I read that they were recorded in wide format and some of the people are experiencing "smooshed" views of Cathe and Co. I guess some TVs you can set up to wide screen, some older models, not. I'm thinking I may have too old a TV. I couldn't stand seeing Cathe look like that so I played my download. I'll have to have DS18 see if the TV can be adjusted. I'm not very happy if it can't. I know movie DVDs you can set up in the menu of the dvd as wide or normal (or whatever it's called).
Did anyone else experience "smooshed" Cathe?

Ronne, wtg on the size 6. Take your victories where you can....it's just a bummer when it goes the other way! Are they making the waistbands of pants wider these days? Seems ever pair of pants that fit through the hips (me size 8 too) is too wide in the waist and I have to take in the waist. I don't consider myself "hippy", more hourglass shape I guess, though definitely not a perfect "barbie" ratios :)

Mary, I never preview. How are the hips doing? Will you have to modify some of the workouts still?

Murphy,did you get your DVDs? Funny story of your kids, but just think of the role model you are being. They'll remember and hopefully have life long healthy habits.

Working late again, sigh! Today was DM Cardio Legs premix. OMG, I can't believe that this is rated MET 6.5 in the Workout Manager. My heart rate went up to 177! I know something's tough when the ends of my hair get sweaty (nice, huh?).

Lisa - exactly the same here. Waists on trousers are always gaping when the hips fit. It's not a problem with skirts and dresses as I can go to size 6 fine but trousers are a nuisance.

Mary - did you throw yourself into anything or did you manage to resist?

Wah, wah, wah. No dvd's yesterday. :-( Now I am wondering if my OCD took over when I ordered - did I ask for UPS or USPS? I am thrifty so it would have been an inner battle, paranoid vs. tightwad. Speaking of paranoid, I then began to worry that my address change request did not go through. They said that it did plus, I called my mom and she said they were not there so...where or where have Cathe dvd's gone, oh where or where can they be!
 
Hi girls! I did High Reps today, the tricep section about fried me! Lisa, I bow down to you completing Intensity! I watched it last night, it looks HARD! I don't think my hips can take that yet, but I will try the lo HIT and the bootcamp. I am anxious to try the leg one and STS. Murphy, they will be there! You must have used UPS. Lisa, I previewed the dvd's on our flat screen, it looked amazing! I did the w/o on our old TV and she did look all squishy! Ronne, that premix sounds challenging! What is everyone doing for the holiday? We are going to my mom's. So glad I don't have to cook! Talk to you tomorrow! Mary

Taking rest day today. I slept in, aaaaaah. I woke up at 3:30 read my nook a bit (love it) and then got back to sleep. Boys will be here today and we will go to the Melting Pot (they have a special). Thanksgiving nothing planned as we will have ours on Saturday to accomodate DS21 who goes to his fiancee's place.

Hi everyone! Just did the premix from Intensity, the lo hit and bootcamp, actually was sweating a bucket! Only 30 min, perfect! Murphy, what have you tried? Tomorrow will be the new leg one! Then I can eat all day! Have a cold, got up way too early,( not as early as Lisa!). I couldn't breathe thru my nose. Very frustrating. Ronne, how are you? Lisa, enjoy the Melting Pot, my kids love that place! Have a good day! Mary

Woah - lots of excitement around here!

Mary - 30 min premixes? Count me in, I love my 30 min workouts.

Murph - so which one did you go for first?

Lisa - good thing you managed to get back to sleep. We got woken at 4am the other night by our smoke alarm - the battery had gone and it started bleeping. We were so sleep-addled we couldn't sort it out!

Today I did BC. I tried the everything but core premix followed by all the core. It seemed a bit more difficult actually, I'll probably stick to the usual version in future! Off to pick DD up from school. See you all tomorrow.

Did Bootcamp premix from BM2 today. One more day left on my rotation! Woohoo!
Just got some new speakers for my PC so am going to set them up and see what they sound like.

I won't be around tomorrow (again!). Off to London this time. Going to see the tennis (Masters), we've got Nadal vs Berdych. Then to the V&A I think and dinner!

HI Everyone, I'm here too. We won't celebrate until Saturday. I did STS Total Body...OMG! Lots of legs (me thinks it'd be good to just to the lower body PM). the ab section was KILLER

Ronne, enjoy London, how far is it from you, how long does it take to get there? Was wondering if I told you I was going to Denver if it would have the same pizazz?

Lisa - London's about 40 miles away. Takes an hour on the train. I'd love to try skiing where you are, that sounds pretty cool!
 
Okay, how did everyone guess I would choose Intensity? I am a bit under the weather so the lo-impact version had my name on it. Uh-oh, does this mean that I now have no excuse to slack off when I feel a cold coming on but want to do aerobics? Oh man! :)
